Bullying and violence pose widespread problems for contemporary society. In this paper, special attention is given to violence against pupils with SN. The empirical research analyses perceptions of peer violence according to differing roles in relation to violent acts (observer, victim and perpetrator) among pupils with and without SN, regarding gender and age. We used the School Bullying Scales measuring instrument, translated and adapted for Slovenia. The main findings of the research are as follows: there is no statistically significant difference between pupils with and without SN in terms of the different roles of peer violence in regular Slovenian primary schools. Among specific subgroups of children with SN, pupils with long-term illnesses (including pupils with activity deficit and/or hyperactivity disorder) were statistically significantly less often observers of violent acts compared to other groups of pupils with SN.

Investigations were conducted to explore the use of anaerobic treatment options that may allow complete recovery of primary and waste activated sludge streams for incineration from a graphic paper mill with an integrated deinked pulp plant. The effective reduction of waste activated sludge quantity (55%-65%) was obtained by the anaerobic treatment of wastewater from the deinked pulp plant or by the anaerobic stabilization of the mill effluent from primary treatment, where chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal efficiency of 67.6% and 64.8%, and biogas potential of 440 and 496 m³/tCODremoved were achieved, respectively. The anaerobic treatment of wastewater and alkali hydrolysis of waste activated sludge decreased the dewatering properties of solids residue in treated effluent resulting in a negative impact on the sludge recovery energy balance. The addition of municipal wastewater to anaerobic treatment in the amount of 18 vol%, representing 10% of the total COD, increased the reduction of waste activated sludge to 78%, with a positive impact on the treatment costs and efficiency. Anaerobic treatment of the studied effluents may enable incineration of all mill sludge with a positive energy balance, a reduction of biological wastewater treatment operational cost by up to 83%, and mill conventional energy demands by up to 2.7%, resulting in total cost savings of up to EUR 5.2 (USD 5.60) per ton of paper. In this study mitochondrial DNA of the indigenous honey bee populations from Serbia was analysed. Three ecotypes were comprised in the investigation: Banat (B), Syenichko-Peshterski (S) and Timok (T). The results show that all investigated samples of honey bees from Serbia belong to one mtDNA haplotype of the C phylogenetic lineage, previously designated as C2D haplotype, though with three additional polymorphic sites. For the novel mtDNA haplotype, the designation C2E is proposed. The novel C2E haplotype differs from C2D in two A-T transversions and in one insertion. Moreover, within the T honey bee ecotype, two additional polymorphic sites were observed; a deletion of a T nucleotide and a T-C transition. Our results suggest that the Carniolan honey bee populations from Serbia may represent an indigenous gene pool within A. m. carnica. The mtDNA haplotype (C2D), previously found in A. m. macedonica, was found in all samples of Serbian A. m. carnica. This suggests that the C2D haplotype may be found within both subspecies. This study represents the first effort to characterize the indigenous honey bee populations in Serbia using molecular techniques with the objective of improving our understanding of the phylogeography of Apis mellifera. Modern European beekeeping is facing numerous challenges due to a variety of factors, mainly related to globalisation, agrochemical pollution and environmental changes. In addition to this, new pathogens threaten the health of European honey bees. In that context, correct colony management should encompass a wider vision, where productivity aspects are linked to a One Health approach in order to protect honey bees, humans and the environment. This paper describes a novel tool to be applied in beekeeping operations: good beekeeping practices (GBPs). The authors ranked a list of GBPs scored against their importance and validated by an international team, including researchers, national animal health authorities and international beekeepers' associations. These activities were carried out in the project 'BPRACTICES', approved within the transnational call of the European Research Area Network on Sustainable Animal Production (ERA-NET SusAn) in the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme of the European Union. This study, created through an international collaboration, aims to present an innovative and implementable approach, similar to applications already adopted in other livestock production systems.
