Academic collaboration is an efficient way to boost research productivity. It has long been a common method in various disciplines, with extensive research on collaboration status. However, very little research has been undertaken to delve into the academic collaboration in the field of Translation Studies (TS). This study collects articles and reviews (book review excluded) from the 14 A&HCI-indexed international journals in this field from 2011 to 2021, and utilizes BibExcel, Pajek, and VOSviewer to conduct a social network analysis in order to determine authorial collaboration patterns and trends in TS via a quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results reveal that academic collaboration has become a common practice with an increased collaboration rate from 23.25% to 39.58% over the last 11 years. Authors and institutions from developed countries have taken the central position in the academic collaboration network. Both specialized and literary translations are the focus of research, with the former taking the major trend. Finally, some implications are proposed to encourage more academic collaboration in TS. In recent years, translator group has attracted academic attention as a hot topic in translation study and historical research. In the modern history of China, a group of unique translators have emerged in Hubei province. From the perspective of translation history, this paper studies modern Hubei translators. To be specific, on the basis of clarifying the general information about them, the paper examines their translation texts, characteristics of their activities, and the social history of the activities from the perspective of "internal history" an d "external history". It is found that compared with the modern period before 1949, there are obvious differences in the number of translators, translation texts, and the directionality in translation after 1949, owing to the social development of New China. The paper illustrates the social characteristics of translation in order to show Hubei translators' significant contribution to the development of modern China. Jin Yong was a successful martial arts fiction writer in China who had 15 prestigious works published. He created a fantasy world of wuxia for numerous Sinophone and non-Sinophone readers. Despite cultural and linguistic differences, four of Jin Yong's works were translated into English. In the translation and international circulation of Jin Yong's work, the contributions of the author, translators, and publishers—the three major cultural active agents in the transnational literary field—should be noted. By referencing Bourdieu's concept of capital, this study utilizes descriptive and explanatory methods to identify the author–translator–publisher relationship and observe how these agents interact by leveraging their capital, so as to improve the international recognition of Jin Yong's works. Despite sporadic surveys on the status quo of translation and interpreting studies in China (mainly interpreting studies), very little research has been undertaken on a large scale to understand the academic background of Chinese scholars. Intending to fill this gap, this study presents a survey of the academic background of translation and interpreting scholars in China. The analysis is mainly based on a survey of articles published between 2011 and 2015 in 16 important CSSCI and/or CORE journals. Through quantitative and qualitative content analyses, this study examines the academic background of Chinese scholars in terms of gender, age, affiliation, title, academic training/degree, overseas experience, research interest, thematic trend, and international output. This research was carried out with two main purposes: to survey the methods necessary to translate Chinese words and phrases into English, and to investigate how frequently their English versions appear in twenty different countries or regions. The research was conducted through an analysis of data from Xi Jinping's book The Governance of China (English version), published by Foreign Languages Press. The results show that 401 Chinese words and phrases reflect seven specific translation methods. Moreover, their frequency of usage shows obvious differences across twenty different countries or regions based on the statistical analysis of the corpora.
