Our investigation uncovers that nanomolar concentrations of salinomycin, monensin, nigericin, and narasin (a group of potassium/sodium cation carriers) robustly enhance surface expression of CD20 antigen in B-cell-derived tumor cells, including primary malignant cells of chronic lymphocytic leukemia and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Experiments in vitro, ex vivo, and animal model reveal a novel approach of combining salinomycin or monensin with therapeutic anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies or anti-CD20 CAR-T cells, significantly improving non- Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) therapy. The results of RNA-seq, genetic editing, and chemical inhibition delineate the molecular mechanism of CD20 upregulation, at least partially, to the downregulation of MYC, the transcriptional repressor of the MS4A1 gene encoding CD20. Our findings propose the cation carriers as compounds targeting MYC oncogene, which can be combined with anti-CD20 antibodies or adoptive cellular therapies to treat NHL and mitigate resistance, which frequently depends on the CD20 antigen loss, offering new solutions to improve patient outcomes.

Ivermectin (IVR) is a 16-membered macrocyclic lactone of Nobel prize-honored distinction, showing a broad spectrum of biological activity, especially antiparasitic. We have recently designed a practical and scalable procedure for the synthesis of IVR derivatives with a rearranged oxahydrindene (hexahydrobenzofuran) ring that revealed improved antiparasitic activity compared to that of the native structure. Of note, the compounds that show activity towards parasites, very often are active against cancer cells and vice versa. However, the anticancer potential of IVR has not been studied intensively as yet, and there have been no reports on the effects of its synthetic derivatives against cancer cells. Thus, in the study reported, we thoroughly investigated the anticancer activity of IVR and its derivatives against a panel of four human cancer cell lines. We have identified a number of IVR derivatives with improved cytotoxicity and/or cancer cell-targeting selectivity compared to those of reference compounds. Cell cycle analysis has proved that selected compounds increased the number of cancer cells in the subG1 and G0/G1 phases (PC3, MDA-MB-231 and A549) or S/G2/M phase (HCT-116). The strong proapoptotic effect observed for the most promising IVR derivatives has been associated with a significant increase in caspase-3/7 activation and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. Finally, these derivatives also showed significant inhibition of interleukin-6 (IL-6) cytokine secretion in cancer cells used. Our results indicate that chemical modification of IVR can lead to synthetic products with enhanced anticancer activity, which may provide an excellent starting point for further development of new IVR-derived agents for the treatment against cancer cells.

Thiazolidinone is a scaffold known for its diverse biological activities, drawing the interest of researchers seeking to explore its potential. Numerous libraries of molecules with diverse structures and properties can be created based on this scaffold. We propose the extraction of compounds with a defined central skeleton, resulting from a repeatable methodology of synthesis, to analyze the biological properties of a heterogeneous set of molecules. This review offers a comprehensive overview of recent research, focusing on a homogeneous group of (2-imino-4-oxo-1,3-thiazolidin-5-yl)acetic acid derivatives. It highlights the most promising compounds that have emerged from recent studies, their molecular targets, and the underlying mechanisms contributing to their biological activity.

Progressive Supranuclear Palsy is an atypical parkinsonism based on tauopathic pathology. Growing interest is associated with the pathomechanism of this disease. Among theories analyzing this issue can be mentioned the one highlighting the significance of inflammation. In this study authors examined 14 patients with PSP-Richardson syndrome (PSP-RS) and 13 healthy volunteers using laboratory testing based on the analysis of interleukins 1 and 6 (IL-1 and IL-6), tau in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and non-specific parameters of peripheral inflammation in the serum (IL-1, IL-6, neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, platelets and the ratios based on the factors). All of the patients underwent neuroimaging using magnetic resonance imaging using 3 Tesla. The serum levels of IL-1 were positively correlated with the area of the mesencephalon, suggesting that higher levels of IL-1 are not linked with atrophic changes in this region, whereas serum levels IL-6 was positively correlated with frontal horn width and negatively correlated with superior cerebellar area. Additionally IL-6 in the serum was found to be correlated with neutrophil-to-high density lipoprotein ratio. The observations were not confirmed in the analysis of the levels of interleukins in the CSF. To the best of our knowledge this work is one of the first analyzing this issue. The outcome of the work shows that the role of interleukins associated with microglial activation may possibly differ in the context of neurodegenerative changes, moreover the role of peripheral inflammation in PSP requires further analysis.

Abstract Introduction Hepcidin is a peptide associated with controlling the distribution of iron in tissues. Growing interest is linked with its impact on neurodegenerative diseases, as disruption of the iron regulation may be considered an initiatory element of pathological protein accumulation. The possible impact of hepcidin was not previously sufficiently explored in progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). Methods Twelve patients with PSP–Richardson's syndrome (PSP–RS), 12 with PSP‐Parkinsonism Predominant (PSP‐P), and 12 controls were examined using Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale—III part (UPDRS‐III) in OFF stage and analyzed in the context of hepcidin levels in the serum. Results The work revealed increased levels of hepcidin in PSP–RS when compared to PSP‐P and controls. Moreover, hepcidin was found to be negatively correlated with UPDRS‐III results in PSP–RS, whereas positively in PSP‐P. Conclusion The work may suggest a possible impact of hepcidin in PSP, possibly differing depending on its subtype.

Abstract Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) is an atypical parkinsonism. Major subtypes of the disease: PSP-Richardson’s Syndrome (PSP-RS) and PSP Parkinsonism Predominant (PSP-P) vary in clinical features, the pathomechanism remains unexplored. The aim of this work is to analyze the relevance of glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) evaluation in the serum and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in PSP subtypes and to verify its significance as a possible factor in the in vivo examination. Authors assessed the concentration of GDNF in the serum and CSF of 12 patients with PSP-RS, 12 with PSP-P and 12 controls. Additionally authors evaluated patients using Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale—III part (UPDRS-III), Frontal Assessment Battery (FAB) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The evaluation revealed significantly increased concentrations of GDNF in the CSF among PSP-RS patients and substantially increased concentrations of GDNF in the serum in PSP-P. Though the GDNF concentrations differentiated PSP subtypes, no correlations between with clinical factors were observed however certain correlations with atrophic changes in MRI were detected. GDNF is a factor which may impact the pathogenesis of PSP. Possible implementation of GDNF as a therapeutic factor could be a perspective in the search for therapy in this currently incurable disease.

Two new Ag(I) complexes with coumaric carboxylic acid derivatives have been synthesized. Structural studies of these noncrystalline complexes have been performed using a methodology that combines laboratory and synchrotron techniques, supported by density functional theory calculations. The arrangement of ligands around the Ag(I) cation has been refined using infrared, extended X-ray absorption fine structure, and X-ray absorption near edge structure spectroscopies. Different coordination modes of carboxylate ligands are observed for the studied compounds. Carboxylate bridges are characteristic for the Ag(I) complex with 4-oxo-4H-1-benzopyran-2-carboxylic acid (1), while a bidentate chelating motif was found for the complex with 2-oxo-2H-1-benzopyran-3-carboxylic acid (2). Additionally, the carbonyl oxygen atom of the coumarin ring coordinates to the silver cation in complex 2, while it is inactive in complex 1. Antimicrobial evaluation has been performed for both compounds. The complexes show activity against selected bacteria as well as Candida yeast. This activity is slightly lower for bacteria and the same or higher for Candida in relation to the reference substances: ciprofloxacin or fluconazole.

Abstract In this work, we investigated the antitubercular properties of Ciprofloxacin derivatives conjugated with menthol and thymol moieties. For the sixteen derivatives, we established minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC) using isolates of Mycobacterium tuberculosis that were resistant or susceptible to other antibiotics. For the most potent compound 1‐cyclopropyl‐6‐fluoro‐7‐{4‐[6‐((1R,2S,5R)‐2‐isopropyl‐5‐methylcyclohexyloxy)‐6‐oxohexyl]piperazin‐1‐yl}‐4‐oxo‐1,4‐dihydroquinoline‐3‐carboxylic acid (6), we determined fractional inhibitory concentration index (FICI) values to confirm antibacterial susceptibility and synergistic effects with other reference drugs. In addition, chromatographic studies of all the derivatives demonstrated a significant three to four-fold increase in lipophilicity and affinity to phospholipids compared to Ciprofloxacin. Finally, we conducted structure-based studies of the investigated compounds using molecular docking and taking into account protein target mutations associated with fluoroquinolone resistance. In summary, our findings indicate that the investigated compounds possess tuberculostatic properties, with some showing similar or even better activity against resistant strains compared to reference drugs. Increased lipophilicity and affinity to phospholipids of the new derivatives can offer several advantages for new drug candidates, beyond just improved cell membrane penetration. However, further studies are needed to fully understand their safety, efficacy, and mechanism of action.

Dimers of dipyridothiazines with an m-xylene moiety are presented in terms of a comparative analysis with anticancer active structural analogs containing a lutidine system. The synthesis of new isomeric dimers was described, the structure of which was confirmed by 1H, 13C and 2D NMR, and HR MS spectroscopic methods. The preliminary prediction of the pharmacological profile using the Way2Drug server indicated the anticancer potential of the tested derivatives. In vitro biological activity tests were performed on a normal skin cell line (HaCaT) and five cancer cell lines, including human primary colon cancer (SW480), human metastatic colon cancer (SW620), human breast adenocarcinoma (MDA-MB-231), human lung carcinoma (A-549), and human glioblastoma (LN-229), which indicated low cytotoxic activity. In order to explain the surprisingly low activity, a comparative structural analysis of the tested analogs compared to the dimers with the lutidine system was performed using quantum mechanics and molecular docking in relation to histone deacetylase. Molecular docking indicated the different binding sites of the analyzed dimers, which explained the differences in the activity.

Heterocyclic compounds, particularly those containing azole rings, have shown extensive biological activity, including anticancer, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. Among these, the imidazole ring stands out due to its diverse therapeutic potential. In the presented study, we designed and synthesized a series of imidazole derivatives to identify compounds with high biological potential. We focused on two groups: thiosemicarbazide derivatives and hydrazone derivatives. We synthesized these compounds using conventional methods and confirmed their structures via nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR), MS, and elemental analysis, and then assessed their antibacterial and antifungal activities in vitro using the broth microdilution method against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as Candida spp. strains. Our results showed that thiosemicarbazide derivatives exhibited varied activity against Gram-positive bacteria, with MIC values ranging from 31.25 to 1000 µg/mL. The hydrazone derivatives, however, did not display significant antibacterial activity. These findings suggest that structural modifications can significantly influence the antimicrobial efficacy of imidazole derivatives, highlighting the potential of thiosemicarbazide derivatives as promising candidates for further development in antibacterial therapies. Additionally, the cytotoxic activity against four cancer cell lines was evaluated. Two derivatives of hydrazide-hydrazone showed moderate anticancer activity.

Combretastatins isolated from the Combretum caffrum tree belong to a group of closely related stilbenes. They are colchicine binding site inhibitors which disrupt the polymerization process of microtubules in tubulins, causing mitotic arrest. In vitro and in vivo studies have proven that some combretastatins exhibit antitumor properties, and among them, combretastatin A-4 is the most active mitotic inhibitor. In this study, a series of novel combretastatin A-4 analogs containing carboxylic acid, ester, and amide moieties were synthesized and their cytotoxic activity against six tumor cell lines was determined using sulforhodamine B assay. For the most cytotoxic compounds (8 and 20), further studies were performed. These compounds were shown to induce G0/G1 cell cycle arrest in MDA and A549 cells, in a concentration-dependent manner. Moreover, in vitro tubulin polymerization assays showed that both compounds are tubulin polymerization enhancers. Additionally, computational analysis of the binding modes and binding energies of the compounds with respect to the key human tubulin isotypes was performed. We have obtained a satisfactory correlation of the binding energies with the IC50 values when weighted averages of the binding energies accounting for the abundance of tubulin isotypes in specific cancer cell lines were computed.

Over the years, several new medicinal substances have been introduced for the treatment of diseases caused by bacteria and parasites. Unfortunately, due to the production of numerous defense mechanisms by microorganisms and parasites, they still pose a serious threat to humanity around the world. Therefore, laboratories all over the world are still working on finding new, effective methods of pharmacotherapy. This research work aimed to synthesize new compounds derived from 3-trifluoromethylbenzoic acid hydrazide and to determine their biological activity. The first stage of the research was to obtain seven new compounds, including six linear compounds and one derivative of 1,2,4-triazole. The PASS software was used to estimate the potential probabilities of biological activity of the newly obtained derivatives. Next, studies were carried out to determine the nematocidal potential of the compounds with the use of nematodes of the genus Rhabditis sp. and antibacterial activity using the ACCT standard strains. To determine the lack of cytotoxicity, tests were performed on two cell lines. Additionally, an antioxidant activity test was performed due to the importance of scavenging free radicals in infections with pathogenic microorganisms. The conducted research proved the anthelmintic and antibacterial potential of the newly obtained compounds. The most effective were two compounds with a 3-chlorophenyl substituent, both linear and cyclic derivatives. They demonstrated higher efficacy than the drugs used in treatment.

The treatment of infectious diseases is a challenging issue faced by the medical community. The emergence of drug-resistant strains of bacteria and fungi is a major concern. Researchers and medical professionals are working to develop new and innovative treatments for infectious diseases. Schiff bases are one a promising class of compounds. In this work, new derivatives were obtained of the 4-amino-5-(3-fluorophenyl)-2,4-dihydro-3H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thione reaction, with corresponding benzaldehydes with various substituents at position 4. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of all synthesized compounds were tested. Several new substances have shown moderate antifungal activity against Candida spp. The highest activity directed against C. albicans was shown by compound RO4, with a 4-methoxyphenyl moiety and an MIC value of 62.5 µg/mL. In order to check the toxicity of the synthesized compounds, their effect on cell lines was examined. Additionally, we tried to elucidate the mechanism of the antibacterial and antifungal activity of the tested compounds using molecular docking to topoisomerase IV, D-Alanyl-D-Alanine Ligase, and dihydrofolate reductase.

Flavonoids and polyunsaturated fatty acids due to low cytotoxicity in vitro studies are suggested as potential substances in the prevention of diseases associated with oxidative stress. We examined novel 6-hydroxy-flavanone and 7-hydroxy-flavone conjugates with selected fatty acids (FA) of different length and saturation and examined their cytotoxic and antioxidant potential. Our findings indicate that the conjugation with FA affects the biological activity of both the original flavonoids. The conjugation of 6-hydroxy-flavanone increased its cytotoxicity towards prostate cancer PC3 cells. The most noticeable effect was found for oleate conjugate. A similar trend was observed for 7-hydroxy-flavone conjugates with the most evident effect for oleate and stearate. The cytotoxic potential of all tested conjugates was not specific towards PC3 because the viability of human keratinocytes HaCaT cells decreased after exposure to all conjugates. Additionally, we showed that esterification of the two flavonoids decreased their antioxidant activity compared to that of the original compounds. Of all the tested compounds, only 6-sorbic flavanone showed a slight increase in antioxidant potential compared to that of the original compound. Our data show that conjugated flavonoids are better absorbed and enhance cytotoxic effects, but the presence of FA lowered the antioxidant potential.

Twelve novel derivatives of N-(furan-2-ylmethyl)-1H-tetrazol-5-amine were synthesized. For obtained compound 8, its corresponding substrate single crystals were isolated and X-ray diffraction experiments were completed. In the initial stage of research, in silico structure-based pharmacological prediction was conducted. All compounds were screened for their antibacterial and antimycobacterial activities using standard and clinical strains. The cytotoxic activity was evaluated against a panel of human cancer cell lines, in contrast to normal (HaCaT) cell lines, by using the MTT method. All examined derivatives were found to be noncytotoxic against normal cell lines. Within the studied group, compound 6 showed the most promising results in antimicrobial studies. It inhibited four hospital S. epidermidis rods’ growth, when applied at the amount of 4 µg/mL. However, the most susceptible to the presence of compound 6 was S. epidermidis T 5501 851/19 clinical strain, for which the MIC value was only 2 µg/mL. Finally, a pharmacophore model was established based on lead compounds from this and our previous work.

Seven novel derivatives of bis(2-aminoethyl)amine were synthesized. For compounds 1 and 7 single crystals were isolated and X-ray diffraction experiments were done. Lipophilicity and drug likeness were calculated in the initial stage of research. All compounds were screened for their in vitro cytotoxic activity against a panel of human cancer cell lines, which is contrary to normal (HaCaT) cell lines, by using the MTT method. Studies were followed by lactate dehydrogenase assay, apoptotic activity, and interleukin-6 assay. Within the studied group, compound 6 showed the most promising results in all biological studies. The strongest influence in A549 cells was denoted for derivative 4, which inhibited interleukin release almost tenfold, as compared to the control.

Five of thiourea derivatives were prepared using as a starting compound 3-(trifluoromethyl)aniline, 4-chloro-3-nitroaniline, 1,3-thiazol-2-amine, 2H-1,2,3-triazol-4-amine and commercial isothiocyanates. All compounds were evaluated in vitro for antimicrobial activity. Derivatives 2 and 3 showed the highest inhibition against Gram-positive cocci (standard and hospital strains). The observed MIC values were in the range of 0.5–8 μg/ml. The products effectively inhibited the formation of biofilms of methicillin-resistant and standard strains of Staphylococcus epidermidis. Inhibitory activity of thioureas 2 and 3 against Staphylococcus aureus topoisomerase IV was studied. The examined compounds were nongenotoxic.

A series of 2-(1H-indol-3-yl)ethylthiourea derivatives were prepared by condensation of 2-(1H-indol-3-yl)ethanamine with appropriate aryl/alkylisothiocyanates in anhydrous media. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by spectroscopic analysis and the molecular structures of 8 and 28 were confirmed by X-ray crystallography. All obtained compounds were tested for antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive cocci, Gram-negative rods and for antifungal activity. Microbiological evaluation was carried out over 20 standard strains and 30 hospital strains. Compound 6 showed significant inhibition against Gram-positive cocci and had inhibitory effect on the S. aureus topoisomerase IV decatenation activity and S. aureus DNA gyrase supercoiling activity. Compounds were tested for cytotoxicity and antiviral activity against a large panel of DNA and RNA viruses, including HIV-1 and other several important human pathogens. Interestingly, derivative 8 showed potent activity against HIV-1 wild type and variants bearing clinically relevant mutations. Newly synthesized tryptamine derivatives showed also a wide spectrum activity, proving to be active against positive- and negative-sense RNA viruses.

4-Chloro-3-nitrophenylthioureas 1–30 were synthesized and tested for their antimicrobial and cytotoxic activities. Compounds exhibited high to moderate antistaphylococcal activity against both standard and clinical strains (MIC values 2–64 μg/mL). Among them derivatives with electron-donating alkyl substituents at the phenyl ring were the most promising. Moreover, compounds 1–6 and 8–19 were cytotoxic against MT-4 cells and various other cell lines derived from human hematological tumors (CC50 ≤ 10 μM). The influence of derivatives 11, 13 and 25 on viability, mortality and the growth rate of immortalized human keratinocytes (HaCaT) was observed.

Thirty new derivatives of palmitic acid were efficiently synthesized. All obtained compounds can be divided into three groups of derivatives: Thiosemicarbazides (compounds 1–10), 1,2,4-triazoles (compounds 1a–10a) and 1,3,4-thiadiazoles (compounds 1b–10b) moieties. 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and MS methods were used to confirm the structure of derivatives. All obtained compounds were tested in vitro against a number of microorganisms, including Gram-positive cocci, Gram-negative rods and Candida albicans. Compounds 4, 5, 6, 8 showed significant inhibition against C. albicans. The range of MIC values was 50–1.56 μg/mL. The halogen atom, especially at the 3rd position of the phenyl group was significantly important for antifungal activity. The biological activity against Candida albicans and selected molecular descriptors were used as a basis for QSAR models, that have been determined by means of multiple linear regression. The models have been validated by means of the Leave-One-Out Cross Validation. The obtained QSAR models were characterized by high determination coefficients and good prediction power.

A series of twenty arylpiperazine derivatives of 1,7,8,9-tetrachloro-10,10-dimethoxy-4-azatricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]dec-8-ene-3,5-dione have been prepared. These derivatives were tested in vitro with the aim of identifying novel lead compounds active against emergent and re-emergent human and cattle infectious diseases (AIDS, hepatitis B and C, tuberculosis, bovine viral diarrhea). In particular, these compounds were evaluated in vitro against representatives of different virus classes, such as a HIV-1 (Retrovirus), a HBV (Hepadnavirus) and the single-stranded RNA+ viruses Yellow fever virus (YFV) and Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV), both belonging to the Flaviridae. Compounds 2c, 2g and 3d showed a modest activity against CVB-2. The molecular structures of the starting imide 1 and one of propyl-piperazine derivatives, 3b, have been determined by an X-ray crystallography study.

A series of twenty six arylpiperazine and aminoalkanol derivatives of 4-azatricyclo[ 5.2.2.02,6]undecane-3,5,8-trione have been prepared. The synthesized compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxicity and anti-HIV-1 activity in MT-4 cells.

Thirty six novel heterocyclic derivatives of ethyl 2-(2-pyridylacetate) were efficiently synthesized. The new compounds involve the linkage of a 2-pyridyl ring with thiosemicarbazide (compounds 1–7), 1,2,4-triazole (compounds 1a–7a), 1,3,4-thiadiazole (compounds 1b–7b), and 1,3,4-oxadiazole (compounds 1f–7f) moieties. The last group of compounds 1e–7e involves the connection of a 2-pyridyl ring with 1,2,4-triazole and thiourea. 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and MS methods were used to confirm the structures of the obtained derivatives. The molecular structures of 3, 3b, 7a and 7f were further confirmed by X-ray crystallography. All obtained compounds were tested in vitro against a number of microorganisms, including Gram-positive cocci, Gram-negative rods and Candida albicans. In addition, the obtained compounds were tested for cytotoxicity and antiviral activity against HIV-1.

In the title compound, C20H17NO3 (alternative name: N-hydroxy-9,10-dimethyl-9,10-ethanoanthracene-11,12-dicarboximide), the rigid ethanoanthracene-dicarboximide moiety has a roof-shaped geometry, the interplanar angle between the two terminal phenyl rings being 124.9 (6)°. In the crystal, molecules are linked via O—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [010]. C—H...O and C—H...π interactions link adjacent chains, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional structure.

1-Methyl-7-(propan-2-yl)-4-oxatricyclo[5.2.2.02,6]undec-8-ene-3,5-dione (1) as starting material and hydroxylamine were used for the preparation of the title compound 4-hydroxy-1-methyl-7-(propan-2-yl)-4-azatricyclo[5.2.2.02,6]undec-8-ene-3,5-dione (2). This product was characterized by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, MS and elemental analysis.

The title molecule, C8H6BrNS2, is almost planar with a dihedral angle of 0.9 (1)° between the benzene and thiazole rings. The values of the geometry-based index of aromaticity (HOMA) and the nucleus-independent chemical shift (NICS) for the two cyclic fragments of the title molecule are 0.95 and −9.61, respectively, for the benzene ring, and 0.69 and −7.71, respectively, for the thiazole ring. They show that the benzene ring exhibits substantially higher cyclic π-electron delocalization than the thiazole ring. Comparison with other similar benzothiazole fragments reveals a similar trend.

The title compound, C10H12FN3S, crystallizes in the same space group (P21/c) as two polymorphic forms of 4-phenyl-1-(propan-2-ylidene)thiosemicarbazone [Jian et al. (2005). Acta Cryst. E61, o653–o654; Venkatraman et al. (2005). Acta Cryst. E61, o3914–o3916]. The arrangement of molecules relative to the twofold screw axes is similar to that in the crystal structure of the lower density polymorph. In the solid state, the molecular conformation is stabilized by an intramolecular N—H...N hydrogen bond. The molecules form centrosymmetric R22(8) dimers in the crystal through pairs of N—H...S hydrogen bonds.

The title compound was synthesized by condensation of an oxiran imide derivative with an appropriate amine and its IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and mass spectroscopic data are reported. The synthesized compound was evaluated for its cytotoxicity and anti-HIV-1 activity in MT-4 cells.
