Aim: In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the risks of self-feeding, transition to early solids and home meals, choking, anemia and obesity in 6-and 12-month-old infants who were introduced to complementary feeding with the trainings of traditional complementary feeding (TCF) and baby-led weaning (BLW) methods.Material and Method: This study is an experimental and randomized controlled study conducted to examine the effect of the trainings of the TCF and BLW methods on the transition to complementary feeding. The population of the study consisted of 73 infants aged 4 and 5 months who 62 were assigned to intervention groups by stratified randomization method. The study was conducted according to the CONSORT-2010 checklist. Five complementary feeding modular trainings with 8 sessions, appropriate for the age of the baby in months, were carried out in both intervention groups. In both groups, the trainings were maintained until the baby was 4 months to 12 months old. The outcomes consisted of height, weight gain, LAZ (Length for age z-score), WAZ (Weight for age z-score), and WLZ (Weight for length z-score) scores at 12 months, iron intake, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and ferritin levels, micronutrients, choking risk, growth retardation, transition time to solid foods, family meals and self-feeding, behaviors of transition to complementary feeding and developmental assessment parameters.Practice Implications: This study, the trainings given are expected to give an idea about the extent to which they affect the infant's body weight, growth and development, iron and micronutrient intake, obesity, choking and growth retardation risks..

Backgraund: Eating behavior is a complex biopsychosocial behavior involving eating and eating time. Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the validity and reliability of Turkish Children's Eating Behavior Inventory which was evaluated by families with disabled children. Methods: Translation and back-translation were used for the adaptation of the scale. Content validity index was employed for content validity, while exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses for construct validity. Cronbach's alpha coefficient and item-total correlation coefficient were used to test the reliability of the scale. Test-retest reliability of the scale was 72, internal consistency and construct validity were determined by data collected from 190 parents with disabled children living with their spouses with at least 2 children. Results: The Cronbach's alpha value of the scale was .77 and the scale was generally accepted as reliable. According to factor analysis; The scale was gathered under 5 factors and the explanatory coefficient was 65.05%. Background: The rate of violence against children is high in our country as in the whole world. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the sensitivity to violence against children and their sense of responsibility and behavior in university students studying on health sciences. Methods: The sample of this study consisted of 657 students (454 females and 203 males) studying on health sciences. “Sensitivity to Violence Against Children Scale” and “Sense of Responsibility and Behavior Scale” were used for the data collection. One-way ANOVA, Mann Whitney U-Tests and Pearson correlation coefficient were used for data analysis. Results: 27% of the students were studying medicine, 15.7% were dentistry, 42.5% were nursing, 53.4% were in first grade and 46.6% were in fourth grade, 36.1% were under 20 and 32.1% were is in the 23-25 age range. It was determined that female students' sensitivity to violence towards children, sense of responsibility and behavior were significantly higher than boys. It was determined that the sensitivity to violence against children was not affected by age and grade, and the sense of responsibility and behavior were higher in the fourth grade than in the first grade and the girls were higher than the boys. As the participants' sense of responsibility and behaviors increased, their sensitivity to violence against children increased. Conclusion: It can be said that women are more sensitive to violence against children and individuals with low sense of responsibility and behavior are insensitive to violence

Amaç: Bu araştırma hemşirelerin kültürlerarası duyarlılıkları ile hemşirelerin empati düzeylerini ve kültürel duyarlılıklarını etkileyebilen farklı değişkenler sosyo-demografik özellikler, çalışma süresi, çalıştığı birim, çalışma yılı gibi ve empati düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesi amacı ile gerçekleştirildi. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel olarak planlanan bu araştırma, Ekim-Aralık 2017 tarihleri arasında Zonguldak ilinde bulunan iki hastanede çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 310 hemşire ile yapıldı. Veriler Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Empatik Eğilim Ölçeği, Kültürlerarası Duyarlılık Ölçeği kullanılarak toplandı. Veriler SPSS 24.0 istatistik paket programında bağımsız gruplarda t-testi, Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi ve farklılığa neden olan grubun tespitinde Tukey testi kullanılarak analiz edildi. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılanların %56,8’inin 31-39 yaş grubunda, %80,3’ünün kadın, %67,7’sinin klinik hemşiresi olarak çalıştığı ve %71,3’ünün yurt dışından gelen hastalara bakım verdiği belirlendi. Hemşirelerin kültürlerarası duyarlılık ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması 85,416±10,283; empatik eğilim ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması 71,313±8,887 olarak bulundu

Objective: The aim of this descriptive study was to investigate the risk factors affecting obesity in students in the 6-15 years old age group. There were 868 students registered at Bahçelievler Elementary School in Zonguldak and were present for face-to-face meetings on the days the research data was collected. Data was collected using demographic questionary forms and weight-length measurements from March to April in 2010.
