SideKick Plus is the latest and most revised version of Borland International's popular software package. As one of the original desktop organizers, SideKick was one of the first memory-resident integrated business programs. The newer program can also operate as a stand-alone application and has added a time planner, a file manager, an outline processor, and a communications program that runs in the background. SideKick Plus needs a 384Kbyte system, but it can use as little as 72Kbyte of RAM. A new 'soft' interface allows users to customize commands to suit their purposes. Although the new version is twice as expensive ($200) as the old version and requires a hard disk to operate, it offers powerful features that are comparable to more costly stand-alone packages.
