This paper presents a computer system capable of analyzing the databases of the results of the elections in Mexico, using genetic algorithms to achieve efficient analyses that will serve for the creation of reports with the information generated, in a shorter time than it can take to perform a manual analysis. The developed system implements the Windows Forms environment with the C# programming language and the SQL Server relational database system. In this research, the variables related to the execution time in the generation of reports will be measured, with respect to the traditional method, in addition to collecting relevant information that the system shows through experimentation. Introduction: Digital competencies are increasingly recognized as a fundamental pillar in the professional development of educators, particularly in Higher Education, where the integration of educational technologies is crucial for enhancing teaching and learning processes. Methods: This study assessed the digital competencies of faculty at the Technical University of Manabí using a descriptive, non-experimental approach with a sample of 279 professors. Data collection was conducted through a quantitative multimodal design utilizing the Higher Education Digital Competencies Assessment Questionnaire (CDES). The data were analyzed using a structural equation model in AMOS software. Results: The findings revealed a significant correlation between faculty members' perceptions and the evaluated dimensions. However, the analysis identified discrepancies in the goodness-of-fit indices, suggesting the need for adjustments in the model. Discussion: The study underscores the importance of ongoing evaluation and optimization of the structural model to refine the integration of digital competencies. It demonstrates the potential of these competencies to enrich teaching practices and concludes that continuous validation and adjustment of the model are essential to align faculty perceptions with their actual digital competencies. Pegmatites and granitic intrusives from eastern Colombia, belonging to the Guainía department, were studied to determine the generating magma type, as well as to assess the degree of magmatic fractionation and its relationship with the presence of Nb-Ta-bearing minerals (strategic minerals). To that end, 31 rock samples were studied; EPMA electronic microprobe analyses were conducted on apatite, biotite, garnet, microcline, muscovite, and tourmaline. The results from biotite, garnet, and tourmaline suggest that these rocks originated from a Fe-rich peraluminous melt. Moreover, content variation of Ba in microcline, Na in muscovite, Fe-Mg in biotite, and Mn-Sr in apatite, allowed the proposal of a magmatic evolutionary line for these rocks. Nb-Ta-bearing samples were present in the most fractionated rocks where tourmaline and garnet occurred, and thus, were proposed as possible indicators of strategic minerals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The visually impaired individuals can use only Braille documents as a medium of education. These Braille documents are scripted on metallic plates which are heavy and bulky in nature. Maintaining these documents are very cumbersome due to their wear and tear tendency in unsupported weather conditions. It is also a tedious task to transport them over the globe and chances of damaging the documents is more. The main purpose of the research is to translate the Braille documents to natural text. Once the document is text form, it can be distributed over the globe using world wide web and can be reproduced to Braille document whenever needed. As the document is in digital form, maintaining Braille document for latter reproducing will be very easy. Extracting the Braille Character cell from the Braille document is the central theme of the research. In previous work the paper was published on segmentation and cropping of Braille cells using its physical properties was published. Background and objectives: This paper aims at devising creativity developmental activities based on methodology and the Storytelling tool. The topic selected for the study was Archimedes' principle included in the Industrial Chemical Engineering curriculum in Mexican public university, during the 2021 confinement period. Methods: The research was a case study following an inductive and analytical method. For data collection, a selfmade rubric was used based on specific creativity criteria. Through structured didactic planning, a series of activities aligned to the STEAM methodology were designed. Results: The creativity categories of the product made by the students were analyzed and described. All information was triangulated when discussing the results. Conclusions: It is concluded that there is empirical evidence that suggests that the development of creativity may be stimulated by the proposed set of activities. In Mexico, an increase in the introduction and dissemination of quarantined weeds can be observed, which can cause million-dollar economic damage to agriculture, as new crop control measures are required. The objective of the study was to determine the distribution and population density of Rottboellia cochinchinensis (hairy grass) in the state of Morelos and thus know the time of greatest spread with references to environmental conditions and thereby assess the most appropriate time to control or eradicate the hairy grass, before it can reproduce. The study was conducted from January 1 to December 31, 2015, in the agricultural areas of the 33 municipalities of the state of Morelos, where they were sampled to identify the presence of R. cochinchinensis. Once the existence of hairy grass in the municipalities was identified, each month the municipalities with presence were monitored to determine population density. The municipalities with the densest population were Jantetelco, Jonacatepec, Tepalcingo and Xochitepec. The highest population density occurred in the months of July and August after observing the highest rainfall, so it is important to apply control technique on Rottboellia cochinchinensis before the period mentioned between the months of May and June. In this article, a joint Radio Access Network selection strategy and a sub-channel resource allocation scheme are introduced, in which the downlink of a two-tier HetNet system is deployed in a co-channel deployment. With this scenario in mind, a Semi Markovian Decision Process based-model is proposed to find an optimal policy for user association and the channel allocation, where the long-term expected reward is maximized. For the proposed strategy, the sub-channel allocation is only considered for those new and handoff petitions that potentially can be allocated in one of the SCs. In addition, with the aim of contributing to the enhancement of the overall usage of radio resources, a traffic offloading process is considered at the departure of the sessions. In order to motivate the session offloading from the MC to the SCs at departure times, we have defined that two subchannels will be allocated in the SC for each offloaded session. Increasing population and urbanization is creating a steadily increasing demand for transportation in the cities of many developing countries, coinciding with rapid economic growth leading to increasing demand for higher standards of living and faster and more efficient modes of transportation. The decisions made today regarding transport infrastructure will affect long-term travel behavior, with corresponding impacts on the economy, society, and the environment, the last impact being one of the most important in times of steadily rising environmental concern. The successful experiences of Curitiba in Brazil and Bogotá in Colombia have served as a source of inspiration for other cities in Latin America and elsewhere. In 1973 Curitiba became the first city in the world to introduce an integrated land use and transport infrastructure approach with an integrated transport network based on bus rapid transit ( BRT). The BRT systems of Curitiba and Bogotá have subsequently been adopted all over the world with some variations. In this research, some questions about the operation of optical devices such as microscopes, telescopes and photography cameras were asked to students who had already attended Physics courses in Engineering Faculty. A lack of comprehension or a total ignorance in its operation was detected, even though that subject was already taught in their regular Physics classes. A similar survey about the teaching-learning process of this subject was applied to professors of the Engineering courses. The findings indicate that the docent process occurs in a traditional way. To solve this problem, a strategy to study the link between theory and practice was proposed as an attempt to promote a conceptual change by the development of the scientifically accepted competences as a component for the integral formation of students at College. For this reason, it was necessary to use Geometrical Optics equipment designed by the authors and complement it with the support of a Geometrical Optics software. More than half of the world's population now lives in urban areas. The difficulties involved in providing new urban residents with a wide variety of services reveal a new face of poverty, one in which urban communities cannot access or afford basic modern energy services for their development and empowerment. As an enabler of development processes, access to electricity in urban and peri-urban contexts plays a key role in providing possibilities and solutions to the urban poor. Energy poverty is no longer a rural-only phenomenon, and a concerted effort is needed to find solutions. Taking this into account, the Global Network on Energy for Sustainable Development (GNESD) initiated the Urban Peri-Urban Energy Access (UPEA) project in 2006. The objective of this study was to understand the barriers to energy access in the context of the urban poor in seven countries. Barriers from both the supply and demand sides for energy were investigated. Factors such as a lack of institutional coordination, weak alignment between energy policies and urban planning, and insufficient financial and social incentives appear to play key roles in constraining access to electricity for the urban poor. Overcoming these barriers will require innovative solutions in policies, decision-making, financing, multi-stakeholder dialogs, social inclusion, international cooperation, and knowledge sharing regarding good practices. The article presents the preliminary results of a research project being carried out at the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at UANL: «Training engineering students through continuing education». Such results show positive criteria and provides recommendations to students and professors, so that continuing education satisfies the training need in the context where learning process takes place. Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) refers to diabetes diagnosed in the second or third trimester of pregnancy. Assessing the weight gain in each pregnant women's appointment is a common task of primary care during their visit. However, the implications of this increase in weight for the development of GDM are unknown., Objective: Evaluate if the greater than expected weight gain (HEWG) in pregnancy is a risk factor for the development of GDM., Methods: Analytical, observational, longitudinal, retrolective study, which included pregnant women between 15 and 40 years of age with complete follow-up of the preg-nancy with > 2 prenatal check-ups, somatometry and complete medical history was made. During follow-up, the GPME was determined. Odds ratio (OR) and 95% confi-dence intervals (95% CI) were calculated. Variables with significance were entered into a multiple logistic regression model (MLR), where the dependent variable was DMG. The sample size calculation was for convenience., Results: 1000 pregnant women with a median age of 28 years were included. In the MLR The pre-gestational body mass index (BMI) with overweight had an RM of 1.3 (95% CI 0.86-1.98), BMI with obesity an OR of 2.57 (95% CI 1.6-4.14), the HEWG during pregnancy had an OR 1.14 95% CI (0.71-1.81), Age> 30 years shows an RM of 2.24 (95% CI 1.55-3.25)., Conclusions: HEWG during pregnancy is not an independent risk factor for the devel-opment of GDM.
