This paper presents a generalised Newmark method (GNM) incorporating a displacement hardening mechanism for the prediction of permanent displacements accumulated by diaphragm walls during earthquakes. A key feature of the proposed approach is the adoption of an evolution law for the critical acceleration, which links its current value to the accumulated wall permanent displacements. This displacement hardening mechanism is based on a simplified relation between the average plastic shear deformations experienced by the passive zone of soil below dredge level and the mobilised soil friction angle. This relation is determined indirectly by the evolution of the passive earth-pressure coefficient with wall displacement/rotation, as obtained in quasi-static model wall experiments. The proposed approach has been validated by comparing its predictions with the experimental data obtained in centrifuge model tests of cantilevered and propped walls. In spite of the simplifying assumptions on which it is based, the GNM has demonstrated that it is capable of capturing the essential features of the retaining structures' kinematics and provides realistic predictions of permanent wall displacements. The study concerns the analysis of the behaviour of two propped reinforced-concrete diaphragm walls in coarse sand under seismic conditions. Fully-coupled dynamic equilibrium and pore water flow under unsaturated conditions for the soil have been taken into account, in order to assess the effects that the development of excess pore water pressures can have on the performance of such structures when dynamic conditions occur. The von Wolffersdorff hypoplastic model and the van Genuchten soil-water retention model have been used to describe the mechanical and retention behaviour of the sand. The Finite Element predictions of the soil and retaining structure behaviour show a significant dependence of the seismic performance of the structure – evaluated in terms of permanent displacements and structural loads, in view of the modern performance-based design criteria – on the excess pore pressures developed in the soil during the seismic shaking, even when dynamic liquefaction does not occur.

The paper presents the results of an empirical study of the dynamics of self-regulation indicators of first-year psychology students in the process of studying the course "Psychology of self-regulation." The study aims to clarify how the indicators of self-regulation ability of first-year psychology students change during the study of a semester course, "Psychology of self-regulation" (from late February to early June 2021), and to find out how the correlations between individual parameters of self-regulation alter. Research results of students (which are made at the beginning and the end of the study of the course) are described and compared according to theoretical, empirical (psychodiagnostic), and statistical methods. The following indicators of self-regulation are studied: self-control in the emotional sphere, self-control in activity, self-control in behavior (social self-control), and a few coping ways (confrontational coping, search for social support, problem-solving planning, self-control, distancing, positive reassessment, acceptance of responsibility, escape-avoidance), as well as alexithymia. It was found that (at the beginning of the study) psychology students had mostly the average level of all studied indicators, except for the coping way "escape-avoidance" (which was at a high level) and a level of alexithymia (a little higher). After studying the course "Psychology of self-regulation," which took place during one semester along with the study of other psychological courses, changes in the studied indicators were revealed: the indicators of self-control and confrontational coping increased; the level of escape-avoidance decreased. The subject of the proposed paper is the disclosure of prerequisites and determinants of the implementation of the soteriological concept of studying the interdisciplinary course of bioethics, the structural model and synectic algorithm of its comprehension and epistemological map of formation of soteriological competence of the future specialist during the study of bioethics. The methodological basis for the implementation of the proposed project is the theory of research-oriented professional education (Inquiry Based Science Education) and, thereafter, technology of advanced learning (Technology Enhanced Learning), which provide wide opportunities to study the course of bioethics in the form of observation of remote virtual experiments on the portal GoLab; GRAASP environment for the implementation of author's developments and pedagogically structured programs in the process of performative interaction between teacher and students. The scientific novelty of the material is to substantiate the content of anthropological competencies of future specialists in biomedical specialties and the strategies of obtaining them on the basis of the principles of hermeneutic didactics. Conclusions. Today, obviously, the task of bioethics is not only to protect nature and human life, but also to participate in the realization of the high mission of Salvation. This defines the research field of bioethics as a space of secret dialogue, in which it is desirable to find a place not only for the voice of clinicians, pharmacists, engineers, philosophers, public figures, but also the pastoral voice of the Church. The paper presents the structure, contents, principles of the organization of the forming experiment on personal reflection development, the results, the interpretation and conclusions of the research. The program of development of creative abilities during the process of understanding the scientific text is described and tested, and it testifies about the significance of creative interpretation for the success of educational and professional activity of students of Humanities of higher educational institutions. The purpose of the paper is to prove that the process of creative interpretation promotes text understanding, determines the formation of adaptive strategies of behavior and reduces the probability of occurrence of stereotyped and maladaptation strategies. The forming activities include training for developing creative abilities, in which group discussion, psychotechnical and psychotherapeutic exercises, elements of psychoanalysis (psychoanalysis, symbol-drama) are used. The paper explores and discusses a concept of personal reflection, which has been used as a means of forming culture of perception of the scientific text during 2019-2020 among the students of the Humanities Faculty at Khmelnytsky National University, Ukraine. In conclusion, the author emphasizes the guided questions for the development of personal reflection as a means of forming culture of perception of the scientific text by humanitarians. Besides, the paper lists and explores benefits and drawbacks of interpretation levels (scientific, emotional-sensitive, creative) and their relations due to the components of intellect, strategies of interpreted behavior, success of educational and professional activity and creativity. The dynamics of formation of educational and professional attitudes of future social workers while studying at higher educational institution is viewed in the paper. During the study it has been found out that the concept of “attitude” means the readiness (perception of future events, forms of response to them, strategies for the professional tasks solution) of future social workers to carry out their own professional duties. The attitudes are closely connected with self-attitude – a structurally complex formation that contains a global feeling (for or against yourself), self-esteem, self-respect, auto-sympathy, self-interest, the expected attitudes of the others. In order to study the dynamics of formation of educational and professional attitudes of future social workers, we have conducted a diagnostic research among first-year students, Bachelors and Masters of the speciality “Social work” of Khmelnitsky National University. According to the results of the research, it has been found out that there is a positive dynamics of changes in the formation of educational and professional attitudes of students in the process of studying at higher educational institution. The need to workout and introduce the program of formation of educational and professional attitudes of future social workers while studying at higher educational institution is defined by the fact that a certain number of Bachelors of the speciality “Social work” has rather weak indicators of formation of such important professional and personal attitudes as decisiveness, confidence in yourself and own strengths, independence, social importance, autonomy, self-control and control over important vital situations.
