- Abstract
Internships can foster educational alliances between industry (business environment) and academic institutions, which can facilitate both flexibility and accelerated innovation. The purpose of this research is to search for the factors that determine HRT through the implementation of the internship program among the students at the Democritus University of Thrace and reveal the correlation between the factors. Also, this paper investigated the impact of the COVID-19 Eras on human resource training (HRT) factors and, finally, investigated the correlation between the two variables "Recruitment in the specialization" and "COVID Eras". The sample of the research consisted of 1398 students at the DUTh who implemented internships during the academic years from 2015–2016 to 2021–2022. A questionnaire with 60 variables was created for data collection. A random sampling method was applied to collect the sample. From the results of the survey, ten factors were extracted for human resource training that explained 75.512% of the total variance, and for each one, Cronbach's Alpha reliability was tested, which was high. In detail, the factors revealed were Learning Outcomes, Efficacy, Emotional Commitment, Satisfaction, Participation, Empowerment, Role Ambiguity, Role Conflict, Supervisor, and Collaboration. From the results of the study, it was evident that HR training is a multidimensional concept and is a necessary condition for the competitiveness of the firms. Training can help to improve the flexibility of the firm, but also to motivate the staff by implementing multidisciplinary training programs. Overall, internship programs are beneficial for students to develop a wide range of skills, as the hands-on experience obtained enhances and supplements the theoretical learning from educational institutions. Fishing tourism, a niche yet burgeoning sector within the broader tourism industry, presents a unique opportunity to explore the dynamics of the Experience Economy. This study delves into the intricacies of fishing tourism through the lens of data science, leveraging web crawling techniques to gather extensive data from reviewer profiles on TripAdvisor. By employing natural language processing (NLP) techniques, the study investigates the correlation between Experience Economy dimensions and user profiling aspects within this domain. The findings of this study shed light on the predominant dimensions of the Experience Economy within fishing tourism. "Entertainment" emerges as the primary dimension, closely followed by "Aesthetic", "Educational", and "Escapist" elements. Notably, the study reveals frequent co-occurrences of certain dimension pairs, such as "Entertainment"–"Aesthetic" and "Educational"–"Entertainment", underscoring the multifaceted nature of the fishing tourism experience. The implications of this research extend beyond academic discourse to practical considerations for stakeholders in the fishing tourism sector. By highlighting the socioeconomic benefits inherent in fishing tourism for local communities and fishers, the study emphasizes the importance of governmental support. This support, in the form of infrastructure development, effective leadership, legislative measures, and financial backing, is deemed essential for fostering sustainable growth and development in this sector. This study stands as a pioneering endeavor within the realm of fishing tourism research, particularly in its focus on Experience Economy dimensions and user profiling. By drawing data from both business pages and user profiles on TripAdvisor, it provides a comprehensive understanding of the intricate interplay between tourist experiences and the broader economic and social landscape of fishing tourism destinations. - Abstract
Total quality management (TQM) refers to a way of management wherein senior management is committed to guiding employees in continuous improvement in all processes, services and products, with the ultimate goal of satisfying customer requirements and expectations. The purpose of the present study was to examine the impact of leadership, organization culture (OC), customer-oriented strategy (COS) and human resource empowerment (HRE) on innovation, as well as the effect of innovation on TQM for sustainable development in Greek luxury resorts with sport and recreation facilities and services. A quantitative 5-point Likert scale method was utilized for the purpose of this study, and an online questionnaire survey was adopted for the data collection. To evaluate the resilience of our model, we conducted structural equation modeling using SPSS and AMOS software. Varimax rotation with Kaiser normalization was utilized to enhance the robustness of the analysis. A total of 895 questionnaires were successfully gathered from 454 luxury resorts. This study validated that leadership, OC, COS and HRE positively impact the luxury resorts' innovation and thus support that innovation had a significant impact on TQM, which in turn leads to their sustainability and effectiveness and is supported by the resource-based view (RBV). Furthermore, this study is the first within the Greek hotel industry that jointly estimates the influence of leadership, OC, COS and HRE on innovation and its concurrent effect on TQM for sustainable development, which has not been methodologically considered before and provides useful policy implications for managers within the hotel industry. A hotel with a sound green image can achieve cost reduction from the use of energy and water, appeal to investors, attract and retain highly motivated employees and cultivate guest loyalty, thereby securing top market share and position. From the other hand, as climate change is expected to affect tourism more than most other economic sectors, it should be in the tourism sector's own interest to make a considerable contribution to emission reductions, even though there is also a clear ethical and moral dimension with regard to the human suffering caused by climate change. This paper shows that hotels use cleaner technologies in their operations in order to attract green consumers and so policy makers need to consider the effectiveness of promoting changes in travel behaviour due to sustainable reasons. Their managers are convinced that the concepts of tourism and environment are interrelated because tourism can’t be developed without the natural environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Customer relationship management (CRM) is a comprehensive business and marketing strategy that integrates technology, process, and all business activities around the customer. With the rapid growth of electronic business and rise of Internet-based services, the internet has provided a platform to deliver CRM functions on the Web (e-CRM) which is focused on web-based interaction between companies and their customers (Kourtesopoulou, Papaioannou & Kriemadis, 2011). The purpose of this study was to provide a better understanding of how the Internet is used as a strategic tool in e-CRM in the tourism and hospitality industry. Two primary research questions were addressed in this study: (i) How can the online environment be described? (ii) How are the customers served in this online environment? A qualitative method was used for the purpose of this study, combining two data collection methods, websites observation and documentation. Primary data collected through an observation checklist (consisted of 48-items & 11-sub-scales) in which the observers concentrated their records and secondary through documents from different published sources to verify the collected data. The selected sample was the sites of the 100 largest luxury hotel units in Greece, which had a number of rooms from 200 to 800. The majority of the foresaid luxury hotel units were from Dodecanese (Rhodes-Kos), Crete (the whole region), Peloponnese, Attica, Corfu and Thessaloniki - Chalkidiki. Conclusions were drawn based on the similarities and differences, which were found according to the observation checklist adapted from the literature (Khan and Shahzad, 2005). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Motivation is one of the major aspects in sport psychology for both physical education and sport. The aim of the present study was to examine the relationship between intrinsic motivation and task and ego orientation in athletes of climbing to estimate the factors that affects in the configuration of level of intrinsic motivation and the objects that determine the behavior of athletes. The sample was consisted of 100 athletes of climbing (71 men and 29 women), age 18 to 32 years, (M = 25.9), which had mean of weekly training 3,55 times/week and mean of degree of difficulty "7+". Participants completed the questionnaire of intrinsic motivation (McAuley, Duncan & Tammen, 1989) and the questionnaire of task and ego orientation in sport (Duda & Nicholls, 1992). The results showed that exist significant differences in intrinsic motivation, depending on sex, experience and level of athletes. Also was found statistically significant cross-correlation between competence, tension and enjoyment interest with task orientation. From these results it appears that the athletes of rock climbing focus their attention in improvement of their skills, overcome intense effort and drawing enjoyment interest through their personal improvement, proving that competence in combination with hard effort is decisive importance factors that lead to success and aid of their self-confidence.
