Based on consumer psychology, the article proposed a research method for perfume bottle design, which used emotional design concept and artistic synaesthesia as a guide. In order to match perfume and container properly, this method analyzed the design factors of perfume bottles through the three levels (VISCERAL, BEHAVIOR, and REFLECTIVE) of emotional design, and then used art synaesthesia to combine, transform, and deepen the emotional responses contained in the design. According to the above steps, the designer finally worked out the perfume bottle designs. The results show that this method can complete the emotional design of perfume bottles and enable the design to deepen the consumers' emotional experience. Glass forming to produce perfume bottles with specific thickness distribution profiles is based on trial and error and requires several tests in production line. These tests are expensive and time‐consuming, which increases time to market. The use of a numerical model aims to reduce the number of prototypes by performing virtual tests of the mold equipment and the process conditions. This article presents results of numerical simulations of the blow and blow forming process to predict glass thickness distribution. Correlation of the simulation results of the glass temperature with experimental infrared measurements on the glass skin and experimental validation of glass forming simulations and influence of the blank mold cavity in the thickness distributions of perfume bottles are provided. Finally validation of the results of axisymmetrical and three‐dimensional models for axisymmetric bottles defining a useful technique to use the right blank mold for desired thickness distribution while reducing the trial and error testing. The analysis of a perfume advertising image can be done from multiple perspectives, the endeavors to provide possible reading paths and interpretations being among the most diverse in the literature. Whether it is to meet the consumers' psychological desires, to relate to fashion trends, or to create a rare scent, perfume advertising is a real challenge, which often needs to be answered just by juxtaposing an image and the product name. Our paper highlights the way in which the correlation between the visual and olfactory forms of perfumes is attempted, through product name, vial, characters, context and text (Julien 1997). Because in many advertisements the perfume is replacing the character, we chose as a case study an advertising image that we consider illustrating in this respect, that of the new olfactory creation of Chanel, Gabrielle, which appeared in September 2017. We have to mention that the launch of this product has been marked by the appearance of homage articles in glossy magazines, which contributes, through the information provided, to a better understanding of the message the advertisement transmits.
