The article looks at the elements of postmodern fiction. One of the divisions of approaches to postmodernism is those which believe that the postmodern is exactly the occasion of the event. A reading of two postmodern texts including "Mr. Vertigo," by Paul Auster and "Period," by Dennis Cooper is offered. It also presents information on the work of writer Georg Lukács that provides an understanding of possible events which takes place in postmodern fiction.
