This paper aims to uncover the phenomenon of Code-switching and the motivation behind the propensity of using acrolect in code-switching among the youths of Bangladesh. In comparison to the past, switching code has become an ecumenical term of Bilingualism in this world. Countries like Bangladesh where English has been taught or used as a foreign language, people often switch the code from Bengali to English or English to Bengali. The tendency of switching code is seen mostly in the youths and young professionals in Bangladesh. Moreover, it is seen the inclination of preferring acrolect while switching the code. The paper analyzes how the youths and young professionals can safely adapt code-switching and make a positive impression on it. The study consists of both qualitative and quantitative approaches. To analyze the nature and factors of code-switching, the paper takes help from different sources and some surveys and questionnaires are completed for empirical data collection. To answer the questions, it is compared to the answers of some students and teachers from Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science & Technology University, Dinajpur and other reputed universities in Bangladesh as well. The paper will trace the role of switching code and its consequences on Bangladeshi youngsters. And the findings can be used in Sociolinguistic ground to expand the nature and scope of codeswitching. The result shows an unleashing effect of code-switching and the positive and negative attitude towards code-switching. The results answer how acrolect dominates over a speaker while switching the code and it also answers regarding the correlation between proximity to code-switching and psychology of the youths.

English literature has faced homosexuality in a progressive manner though it has been through a struggling history. That is why a lot of writers of English literature have expressed and enjoyed themselves in their own ways. This paper addresses a few famous writers whose approaches in this regard have been homosexual in type. After looking at the societal love, norms and analysis of Sigmund Freud, this paper approaches Bangladesh and her view in this regard. This paper finds a kind of interdicted move from Bangladesh toward the homosexually important texts and finds the need to have a reciprocal approach. Finally, the outcome of this paper indicates to explain a critical perspective of Bangladeshi readers' psychology that is how and why they avoid homosexuality as well as literary texts implied with it.

Background: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is an influential cause of liver disease burden. However, there is no evidence-based standard of care. Considering that oxidative stress and diet deficiency of choline plays a role in the pathophysiology of hepatic damage, natural compounds such as silymarin, choline, and ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) represent popular therapeutic options. Aims and Objectives: The present study aimed to compare the efficacy, safety, and adherence of the silymarin-choline combination and UDCA in patients with NAFLD. Materials and Methods: A double-blind parallel arm study where 88 NAFLDdiagnosed patients were randomized to receive either silymarin-choline bitartrate or UDCA for 6 months, along with lifestyle modification recommendations. Weight, body mass index, liver enzyme levels, lipid profile parameters, homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance, liver stiffness measurement, and liver biopsy were monitored at baseline and 6 months. Adverse events and adherence were monitored. Results: A total of 39 patients received a tablet of silymarin-choline bitartrate, while 40 received UDCA. A significant improvement was observed in aspartate aminotransferase (U/L) levels from 54.18 (17.02) to 37.23 (9.94) (P=0.000), NAFLD activity score from 6.5 (0.37) to 2.7 (1.26) (P=0.000), and transient elastography (kilopascal) scores, more in patients receiving the silymarincholine combination, whereas for those receiving UDCA, a significant improvement was observed in total cholesterol (mg/dL) from 187.88 (27.49) to 171.45 (28.47) (P=0.000) and low-density lipoprotein levels. No major safety issues were observed in both groups. Conclusion: NAFLD is currently treated by treating associated comorbidities, which cannot always stop its progression. Silymarin-choline bitartrate can be used as a better alternative to UDCA for the treatment of NAFLD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Dopamine, through D2 receptor (D2R), is the major regulator of lactotrope function in the anterior pituitary gland. Both D2R isoforms, long (D2L) and short (D2S), are expressed in lactotropes. Although both isoforms can transduce dopamine signal, they differ in the mechanism that leads to cell response. The administration of D2R agonists, such as cabergoline, is the main pharmacological treatment for prolactinomas, but resistance to these drugs exists, which has been associated with alterations in D2R expression. We previously reported that dopamine and cabergoline induce apoptosis of lactotropes in primary culture in an estrogen-dependent manner. In this study we used an in vivo model to confirm the permissive action of estradiol in the apoptosis of anterior pituitary cells induced by D2R agonists. Administration of cabergoline to female rats induced apoptosis, measured by Annexin-V staining, in anterior pituitary gland from estradiol-treated rats but not from ovariectomized rats. To evaluate the participation of D2R isoforms in the apoptosis induced by dopamine we used lactotrope-derived PR1 cells stably transfected with expression vectors encoding D2L or D2S receptors. In the presence of estradiol, dopamine induced apoptosis, determined by ELISA and TUNEL assay, only in PR1-D2S cells. To study the role of p38 MAPK in apoptosis induced by D2R activation, anterior pituitary cells from primary culture or PR1-D2S were incubated with an inhibitor of the p38 MAPK pathway (SB203850). SB203580 blocked the apoptotic effect of D2R activation in lactotropes from primary cultures and PR1-D2S cells. Dopamine also induced p38 MAPK phosphorylation, determined by western blot, in PR1-D2S cells and estradiol enhanced this effect. These data suggest that, in the presence of estradiol, D2R agonists induce apoptosis of lactotropes by their interaction with D2S receptors and that p38 MAPK is involved in this process. A randomised study was carried out to evaluate the efficacy of four topical medications individually and in combination to treat grade I acne vulgaris which is characterised by mild lesions (< 10 in one side of face) consisting of predominantly comedones with occasional pustules in oily skin. Maintaining the inclusion and exclusion criteria 100 patients were selected and divided into 5 groups to receive different topical drugs at random basis in the dermatology OPD. Topical medication given to them is mentioned below against each group: Group I--retinonic acid, group II--benzoyl peroxide, group III--clindamycin, group IV--cleanser and group V--all the four medications. The patients were observed for reduction in number of comedones, suppression of papulopustules with healing rate, effects on facial skin, and rate of recurrence. Results were observed according to the groups. In group I old acne was reduced in size and gradually cleared off (80%). Recurrence was few with appearance of new microcomedones which were cleared off within short time. Skin became smoother and fresh. Texture became lighter in colour. In group II whiteheads were reduced at about 70% in number. Rate of recurrence was normal. Skin became rough and dry. In group III pustular acne healed better and faster. In group IV acne of oily skin healed better and faster. Rate of recurrence was normal. Skin became fresh and oil-free. In group V reduction of lesions was very much significant (90%) with quick healing rate of the comedones. Recurrence was normal but delayed. Skin became smoother, finer and fresher. So, combination therapy is better. Cleanser is always helpful even without medications.
