Pensioner all over the country in Russia are holding rallies and blocking traffic in protest against the monetization of benefits. The decision to abolish free public transportation to pensioners is likely to be revoked. The decision by president Putin to increase pension by 240 roubles a month from March 1, 2005 is likely to bring the situation back to normalcy.
