Aim: To explore the perception of the impact of endometriosis on various aspects in affected women with endometriosis. Method: Data was gathered through in-depth and semi-structured individual interviews using open questions to comprehend women's experiences with endometriosis and their health-promoting lifestyle. The Conventional Qualitative Content Analysis approach was utilized, and sampling continued until data saturation. Ultimately, 14 women with endometriosis were interviewed. Results: The theme was following the dominance of the Black Cloud of Endometriosis on Different Aspects of the Life of Women with Endometriosis; with main categories involving (a) Physical depreciation caused by endometriosis, (b) psychological deterioration caused by endometriosis, (c) social isolation, (d) marital relationship disorder, and sexual dissatisfaction. Conclusions: The concepts show that endometriosis impacts negatively on different aspects of women's lives. Considering that endometriosis is a multi-dimensional disease, identifying the different aspects of this disease and paying attention to meeting the perceived needs of the affected women will help to improve the treatment process and bring the affected women to the end of their health. It also discusses the ethical dilemmas posed by the discovery that one's ancestors were involved in activities that are now regarded as morally suspect, such as profiting from the ownership of slaves. How and why people construct, maintain, and transform the material styles associated with cultural boundaries is a central issue in understanding continuity and change in the archaeological record. Questions about transmission of domestic pottery style from mother to daughter in matrilocal societies were a fundamental impetus for the development of many archaeologists' interests in learning and cultural transmission. In such contexts, archaeologists initially expected strong intergenerational continuity in pottery style and well-delineated social boundaries. However, continuity in material culture is not simply the result of unconscious transmission of ideas from generation to generation, a form of native conservatism, or a propensity to do things in the same way as the previous generation, according to the manner in which one is taught. As shown in ethnoarchaeological research conducted in the Zapara Territory of the Ecuadorian Amazon, similarities and differences in women's pottery style can be associated with women's active strategies of signifying and building political alliances through their lives, even though kinship, the early learning context, and status also are important contributing factors. These political strategies of signification may change through women's lives, consistent with different stages of life history and the developmental cycle of their communities of practice. Her latest release, Candy Floss Collection, is a set of three previously published novels, which together form installation art. This definitive and beautifully rendered work is important for several reasons. First, it demonstrates the power of fiction as a research method. Second, it is a beautiful piece of art. Third, it centres on powerful content, telling important and often invisible stories about women’s lives, aspirations, relationships, and daily struggles. Finally, this collection is a well-crafted piece of public scholarship that is imminently accessible to audiences inside and outside of academia. Overall, Candy Floss Collection is a triumphant piece of art, an exemplar of fiction as research, a highly accessible piece of public scholarship, and an engaging read. This is a significant and even game-changing work and ought to be recognized as such.

Biofiction can be defined as fiction about a named, real person and is characterised by creativity, invention, and imaginative exploration. In this essay I deploy a mixture of nonlinear narrative and theoretical writing to explore the argument that creative ways of responding to archival silences illuminate, and also complicate, our attempts to recover women's lives from obscurity. This study explores the tensions between the state and women's efforts to construct an alternative vision of gender equality and feminism. The experiences of the One Million Signatures Campaign for the Repeal of Discriminatory Laws offer new perspectives on women's struggles to carve out their own space and place in society. But how and why does the state construct and reproduce patriarchal norms and practices? Conversely, how do women, specifically feminists, address and engage the state in their attempts to form their own feminist rights and gender identities? Although it is important to understand that both the state and women draw on their own political and cultural preferences, I argue that constructing feminist identities is often an uphill battle, as women encounter resistance from the state that is not gender neutral and is patriarchal. The English reformist writer Mary Hays published a compilation of women’s biographies entitled Female Biography (1803), with the aim at providing other women with examples to emulate. she intended not only to convey her deepest convictions about women’s capacities and abilities, but also to leave her own stylistic imprint on the text. This study seeks to analyse diverse entries of Hays’s collection (Lady Dudleya North, Lady Damaris Masham, Margaret Roper, Aphra Behn, and Lady Rachel Russel) in order to elucidate her concerns as a data collector and biographer, and her techniques as a lexicographer, which are chiefly shaped by her concern about education and by her intended audience: women.

This essay follows the author’s search for forgotten art historian Elizabeth Senior (1910–41). Using a quest narrative, it traces the process undertaken to piece together the life story of a remarkable young woman, including Internet research, visits to archives and correspondence with family members. Killed at just aged 30 by a bomb during the Blitz in 1941, Senior left a quite substantial body of editorial work and writing. Editress for the inaugural volumes in Allen Lane’s King Penguin series, Senior also wrote multiple reviews for theBurlington Magazineand theBritish Museum Quarterly, as well as her own art historical books on portraits of Henry VIII and his wives, and on portraits of Christ (co-authored with Ernst Kitzinger). A collaborator and friend to many Jewish émigré art historians, includingThe Story of Artauthor Ernst Gombrich, Senior played an important role in facilitating the safe passage of many fleeing the Nazis for England in the 1930s and 1940s. The ways in which inequality generates particular population health outcomes remains a major source of dispute within social epidemiology and medical sociology. Wilkinson and Pickett's The Spirit Level (2009), undoubtedly galvanised thinking across the disciplines, with its emphasis on how income inequality shapes the distribution of health and social problems. In this paper, we argue that their focus on income inequality, whilst important, understates the role of neoliberal discourses and practises in making sense of contemporary inequality and its health-related consequences. Many quantitative studies have demonstrated that more neoliberal countries have poorer health compared to less neoliberal countries, but there are few qualitative studies which explore how neoliberal discourses shape accounts and experiences and what protections and resources might be available to people. This article uses findings from a qualitative psycho-social study employing biographical-narrative interviews with women in Salford (England) to understand experiences of inequality as posited in The Spirit Level . We found evidence for the sorts of damages resulting from inequality as proposed in The Spirit Level . However, in addition to these, the most striking finding was the repeated articulation of a discourse which we have termed “ no legitimate dependency ”. This was something both painful and damaging, where dependency of almost any sort was disavowed and responsibility was assumed by the self or “othered” in various ways. No legitimate dependency , we propose, is a partial (and problematic) internalisation of neoliberal discourses which becomes naturalised and unquestioned at the individual level. We speculate that these sorts of discourses in conjunction with a destruction of protective resources (both material and discursive), lead to an increase in strain and account in part for well-known damages consequent on life in an unequal society. Two educational researchers heed the responsibility to face their own traumatic pasts in working with women's experiential texts in the present. Using the notion of individual as both artist and image illustrated in the art of body biography, they come together to embody their own intrapersonal stories of gynaecological and obstetrical traumas as auto-ethnographic texts. Using a palette of photographs, found objects, ink, fabric and more, they portray their past on the present canvas of life-size paper placed across the office floor. Pin pricks on the abdomen. The next slice and stitch. Laproscopic cameras. The leg that lurched and twitched. With each expression of meaning, they delve into multiple layers of consciousness, connecting their recurring past to intrapersonal possibilities of women's education in the present. Sisters and sistering are peculiarly absent from the sociology of the family. Sociologists document women's role as mothers, carers, workers, daughters and wives yet neglect their experiences as sisters. Our knowledge of this widespread tie derives more from media images than from women's own experiences. This article explores several reasons for this marginalization from the sensational depiction of sisters in popular culture as either friends or rivals, and their mythical status in feminist politics, to the specialized interest of psy professionals and policy makers in childhood rivalry and sibling solidarity among the elderly. It reveals the paradox surrounding the silence of sistering as part of family lives and the visibility of sisterhood in the public and sociological imagination.
