The integration of distributed renewable energy technologies (such as building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV)) into buildings, especially in space-constrained urban areas, offers sustainable energy and helps offset fossil-fuel-related carbon emissions. However, the intermittent nature of these distributed renewable energy sources can negatively impact the larger power grids. Efficient onsite energy storage solutions capable of providing energy continuously can address this challenge. Traditional large-scale energy storage methods like pumped hydro and compressed air energy have limitations due to geography and the need for significant space to be economically viable. In contrast, electrochemical storage methods like batteries offer more space-efficient options, making them well suited for urban contexts. This literature review aims to explore potential substitutes for batteries in the context of solar energy. This review article presents insights and case studies on the integration of electrochemical energy harvesting and storage into buildings. The seamless integration can provide a space-efficient source of renewable energy for new buildings or existing structures that often have limited physical space for retrofitting. This work offers a comprehensive examination of existing research by reviewing the strengths and drawbacks of various technologies for electrochemical energy harvesting and storage, identifying those with the potential to integrate into building skins, and highlighting areas for future research and development. EGFLAM as a novel gene biomarker has been reported in some cancers but not glioblastoma (GBM) yet. To clarify the functional role of EGFLAM in GBM, we performed this study. Firstly, based on TCGA and Oncomine database, EGFLAM expression and clinical significance in GBM patients was analyzed. Furthermore, the biological effect of EGFLAM in GBM cells was determined by qRT-PCR, CCK-8 assay, colony formation assay, wound healing assay, transwell assays and western blot analysis. The databases analysis showed that EGFLAM expression was at higher levels in GBM patients with poor prognosis. The results indicated that EGFLAM silence inhibited the proliferation, migration and invasion of U87 cells, which was regulated through repression of PI3K/AKT pathway. Accordingly, the data from our work shed some light on EGFLAM might be a prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for GBM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The lubricant bridge connecting the slider and the disk will significantly deteriorate the read–write stability of the hard disk drive. This paper builds a model of disk-lubricant-slider system. The coarse-grained bead-spring model is used to represent perfluoropolyethers molecules. And the molecular dynamic method is used to study the formation time and the molecule number of the lubricant bridge under different disk rotation speeds and slider flying heights. Previous works investigated particle trajectories in hard disk drives (HDDs) with the actuator arm and the head gimbals assembly at a fixed position. Actually, internal fluid field characteristics of HDDs can be greatly changed by the arm swing during track-seeking operations, which can affect particle trajectories and trapping status. In this paper, using the dynamic mesh method in a 2.5 in HDD for the first time considers the arm swing in the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation. Al2O3 particle trajectories in this HDD are studied by the CFD solver FLUENT with user-defined functions. The trapping criterion for Al2O3 particles is used as a boundary condition for colliding surfaces. Simulation results reveal that the particle undergoes a larger number of collisions with the disk surface for the average seek time of 12 ms than for the average seek time of 6 ms. In addition, the faster the arm swings, the larger the number of particles that gather near the arm, and the shorter time it will take for particles to be trapped. Moreover, particle-surface collisions can successively take place many times in the helium flow. Furthermore, the particles are trapped slower in the helium-filled drive than in the air-filled drive.
