A biography of the early 20th century entomologist Jules Desneux is presented. Born on April 20, 1885 in Brussels, Belgium, Desneux was a doctor who made considerable contributions to the study of Isoptera termites and to modern knowledge about Paussidae (Coleoptera). His professional and scientific activities as a physician, entomologist, numismatist and scientific analyst of artistic works are described. Highlights of Desneux's secondary and higher education are also cited.
