Abstract
The article reports that the U.S. National Homeland Security Consortium has released the 2012 "Protecting Americans in the 21st Century: Priorities for 2012 and Beyond" white paper that discusses climate change, emerging technologies, and weapons of mass destruction.
In this article the author discusses the invention and work of James Hansen, a senior National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) scientist and long-time global warming apologist. The author states that he is the first who achieved notoriety for describing the catastrophic effects of anthropogenic climate change. The author further discusses the paper "Perceptions of Climate Change" released by Hansen.
The article presents information on various efforts toward climate change. A paper was issued by the U.S. Climate Action Partnership in January 2009 which calls for an 80 percent cut in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Ralph Izzo of PSEG mention the complete electrification of the U.S. transportation sector. Energy Future Holdings plans to promote the use of electric vehicle.
