Background: Surgical further training faces the challenging task of reconciling technological advancements and patient safety, particularly in the context of the planned hospital reform. Additionally, the generation shift and evolving expectations of Generations Y and Z in the workplace present further challenges. In response to these demands, the Berlin-Brandenburg Surgical Society (Berlin-Brandenburgische Chirurgische Gesellschaft, BCG) initiated a structured discussion and developed a position paper during the Neuhardenberg talks (Neuhardenberger Gespräche). Methodology: Within the framework of the Neuhardenberg talks, four sessions with keynote presentations and discussions took place. Based on the main discussion points, theses and positions were subsequently formulated and digitally voted on. Results: The results reveal a clear consensus favoring flexible working hours models, earlier specialization options and the integration of external rotations in surgical further training. Regarding talent acquisition and early recruitment of residents, there was a clear consensus supporting the promotion of employee engagement and structured early recruitment of students. There was unanimous agreement on the introduction of training associations as an effective means to ensure high-quality surgical further training. Discussion: One of the central points in the discussions was that high-quality surgical further training will only be achievable within training associations, especially given the impending hospital reform. In exploring the intersection of scholarly research with technological advancement and societal impact, our analysis delves into nearly 40 million research papers spanning from 1950 to 2020 across all fields of study in science. Our scrutiny reveals an intriguing phenomenon: papers characterized by a higher CD index, often considered transformative, paradoxically exhibit a diminished propensity to influence technological and societal domains. This observation suggests a latent bias against the CD index, prompting a deeper inquiry into its implications. To unravel this trend, we introduce the concept of “disruptive citation,” a nuanced metric gauging the absolute disruptive impact of papers. Notably, papers drawing higher disruptive citations exhibit a significantly higher probability to influence both technological and societal spheres. Upon examining the heterogeneity across years and fields, we identify a bias against the CD index predominantly in the last two decades and within STEM fields. However, the positive effects of disruptive impact remain consistent across all years and fields. Our findings remain robust even when employing alternative measures of disruptive impact and controlling for total citations. This study of patent applications and scientific publications related to batteries is unique as it includes the volume of as well as qualitative indicators for both types of publications. Using carefully elaborated strategies to identify publications relating to batteries, this study provides data to discuss the critical balance to strike between investments in research and the more innovation-related aspects. The results show that China's dominance in publication volumes increases and that research with Chinese involvement is highly cited, whereas patent applications are slightly less valued than the world average. Quality-related indicators for Canada and the United States are very high for both scientific publications and patent applications. National differences in the proportions of patent applications and scientific publications are large, with Japan at one end with three patent applications per scientific paper and Canada at the other with almost seven scientific papers per patent application. On an actor level, data for Sweden indicate how the automotive industry started to file many patent applications in the decade starting in 2010. In the era of rapid product iteration, companies need simple and effective methods to guide the entire process of product innovation design and enhance their product innovation capabilities. Most research focused on improving one or several steps in the product design process. Although some scholars have proposed methods that guided the entire process, they combined more than three different theories, which increased the difficulty of theoretical learning and the complexity of practical implementation. This paper proposed a product innovation design process composed of three theoretical methods: Kano, Axiomatic Design (AD), and Theory of the Solution of Inventive Problems (TRIZ). This new process guided the entire product design process with fewer theoretical methods, reducing the difficulty of learning and implementation. The paper demonstrated the effectiveness of this method through the design practice of a portable two-wheeled self-balancing vehicle. Background: The advent of Personalized Medicine (PM) holds significant promise in revolutionizing healthcare by tailoring treatments to individual patients based on their data. However, its successful implementation requires the seamless integration of innovative technologies and presents formidable challenges in terms of sustainability. To tackle these challenges head-on, the International Consortium for Personalized Medicine (ICPerMed) was established, and the IC2PerMed project, as part of this consortium, seeks to foster collaboration between the European Union (EU) and China in the field of Personalized Medicine. Based on the results collected by the project, the objective of this study is to discern the key priorities for the implementation of Personalised Medicine concerning Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Big Data and digital solutions, with a particular emphasis on data management and protection. Methods: A Delphi survey was conducted to gather expert's consensus on the main priorities for actions on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Big Data and digital solutions in the field of Personalized Medicine. Results: The survey identified seven priorities in the area of Big Data and digital solutions, including data interoperability, standards, security measures, and international partnerships. Additionally, twelve priorities were identified for the innovation-to-market process, emphasizing cost-effectiveness, need assessment, and value definition in resource allocation. Conclusions: The effective implementation of new technologies in Personalized Medicine research and practice is essential for the advancement of healthcare systems in both the European and Chinese contexts. The identified priorities play a pivotal role in promoting the sustainability of health systems and driving innovation in the implementation of Personalized Medicine. The knowledge graph based on research papers can accurately identify and present the latest developments in scientific and technological (S&T) innovation and is of great significance for supporting strategic decision-making relating to S&T innovation in undeveloped areas. Based on the international research papers produced in Gansu Province during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016–2020), five metrics, including the number and characteristics of papers, co-authors, main publications and their fields, major supporting institutions, and main research areas, are established herein. The results indicate that: (i) the total of 29,951 papers were published, which is about 2.89 times that in 2010–2015; (ii) Gansu Province collaborated with 149 countries/regions globally; (iii) the top 5 journals in terms of the number of papers were Medicine, Scientific Reports, RSC Advances, Science of the Total Environment, and Physical Reviews D; (iv) the funding sources were mainly from the national level; and (5) the top 5 research areas were chemistry, engineering, physics, material science, environmental science, and ecology, which accounted for 64.7% of all papers. Electronic waste is always a big problem when it comes to the disposal of electronic appliances, and they pose a significant threat ecologically. New technology replaces the existing one, and the older one is discarded. Biodegradable electronics, as an emerging research area, gives viable solutions to the problem of E-waste. It mainly deals with the development of transient electronic devices, i.e., getting decomposed gradually or dissolvable in an eco-friendly way when their purpose has been achieved. This paper presents a scientometric analysis of the research in biodegradable electronics by employing a Scopus database of more than 1109 research articles, conference papers, review papers, and books published on this topic. This study is done over two decades of data from 2003 to 2023 on biodegradable electronics. It describes the trends and future of the research area using keyword analysis, citation network, and bibliometric tools. The study of the number of papers shows a 68%, 75%, and 55% increase in research articles, conference papers, and review documents in 2022. The country-wise contribution to the research shows that China, the USA, India, and South Korea are the major contributing nations. China is the most productive nation, with 297 publications. This paper reveals that the research area has increased the interest of researchers, and countries are collaborating to achieve sustainable development goals. The bibliometric analysis identifies various challenges to biodegradable electronics, such as degradation diversity, integration, fabrication and scalability. Based on these, the future aspects of biodegradable electronics are identified in organic bioelectronics, soft electronics, novel fabrication mechanisms, and Innovative chemistry for green electronics. This review analyzes the most influential artificial intelligence (AI) studies in health and life sciences from the past three years, delineating the evolving role of AI in these fields. We identified and analyzed the top 50 cited articles on AI in biomedicine, revealing significant trends and thematic categorizations, including Drug Development, Real-World Clinical Implementation, and Ethical and Regulatory Aspects, among others. As humanity reaches the 5.0 industrial revolution, education plays a critical role in boosting the quality of human resources. This paper reports bibliometric research on emerging TiP during 1993-2022 in the educational field to analyse its development on any level of education during the last three decades. This study employed a Scopus database. The findings are that the trend of TiP publication in educational fields has tended to increase every year during the past three decades and conference paper became the most published document type, the USA is the country which produces the most publications; 'Students' being the most occurrences keyword and total link strength. The publication of the TiP is ranked to the Quartile 1, which implies that a publication with the cited performance is a publication with credibility because the publisher has a good reputation. iBeam Materials is developing a revolutionary new technology to fabricate large‐area inexpensive sheets of GaN‐based LEDs and devices directly on large‐area metal foils. This new technology is based on using ion‐beam crystal alignment to fabricate templates for epitaxial GaN films on flexible metal foil, that are lattice‐matched, as well as thermally highly conductive and thermally matched to GaN. The ion beam assisted deposition (IBAD) texturing process is used to prepare biaxially aligned films as templates for GaN epitaxy. Epitaxial GaN films have been grown on these engineered flexible metal substrates. We have achieved GaN films of several microns in thickness on polycrystalline metal foils that have typical threading dislocation densities of 4 – 8 x 108/cm2. We then used these epitaxial GaN films on IBAD/polycrystalline metal foil as templates to deposit epitaxial multi‐quantum well light emitting diode (LED) InGaN structures. InGaN LED devices were successfully fabricated and patterned into MicroLED arrays on metal foil. We observe photoluminescence from these LED structures with 70% of the intensity compared to LEDs fabricated on sapphire. We discuss how these LED devices could be manufactured using a roll‐to‐roll process and cost reductions that result from this. Carbon containing waste has a certain calorific value and utilization value due to the presence of carbon elements. However, the current treatment methods are mostly traditional landfill disposal, incineration, or expensive physical and chemical reaction methods, which clearly do not comply with the rules of the current clean and resource-saving society. In this paper, a new technology and system for carbon containing wastes is proposed, which comprehensively treats and recycles carbon containing wastes, including solid waste, wastewater, waste gas, etc., using pyrolysis–gasification two-stage-cycle technology. The calculation results indicate that the technical scheme proposed in this article is feasible and can achieve the recycling of intermediate and final products, the efficient and clean utilization of carbon containing waste, and the graded utilization of energy. The clean utilization rate of carbon containing waste can be effectively improved, the energy consumption and cost of separate treatments can be reduced, and zero waste emissions can be completely achieved by the comprehensive pyrolysis–gasification two-stage-cycle treatment and resource utilization technology, which is one of the preferred solutions for future resource-saving societies. Keeping up with the hastily growing economy implies undergoing unremitting transformation permanently. In the field of supply chain, such progress can only be guaranteed via the exploration of new horizons and innovative solutions in response to the constraints of the global market. Emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, offer promising avenues for enhancing supply chain processes, with sustainability ascending as a critical consideration. Despite the recent surfacing of AI-driven applications, scant attention has been devoted to exploring their full potential within supply chain operations, particularly in conjunction with SDGs. Recognizing the untapped opportunities presented by the implementation of AI for a sustainable supply chain this study undertakes a bibliometric analysis of 236 research papers sourced from the Web of science database. The analysis utilizes R language BiblioShiny to examine the extracted papers, and dissect patterns, trends, and relationships among key concepts and themes as well as prominent topics, impactful authors, and leading journals and countries in this domain. The findings reveal substantial growth in research related to SCM, AI, and sustainability as the UK leads this field of study with 132 articles followed by India, China and the USA. Eventually, the National University of Singapore came first in terms of paper affiliations, followed by De La Salle University, and London Metropolitan University. These results only prove that sustainability is becoming more critical in the equation of AI-driven supply chains especially with the current socio-political and economic circumstances, constituting a solid base for further academic research and more innovations in the managerial and business-related policies in this field. Microbial-induced calcite precipitation (MICP) is an innovative technology in civil engineering. However, the high cost of components and the fragility of the treated soil limit its wide use. One of the possible solutions is organic waste incorporation at different stages of the technology. In the present study, we consider the use of spent brewer's yeast (BSY) to produce bacterial inoculates and wastepaper, flax shives and sawdust as reinforcing additives into the soil. We showed that the replacement of expensive components of LB medium by BSY extract increased biomass growth characteristics of Bacillus subtilis K51, B. cereus 4b and Micrococcus luteus 6 strains by 1.4, 1.5 and 1.8 times, respectively, while for B. subtilis 168, they were comparable to LB medium. The urease activities of all strains were not reduced compared to the control. Among the three kinds of cellulose-containing waste, wastepaper incorporation into MICP-treated soil samples led to an increase in compressive strength by 2.1 times and precipitated calcite percentage by almost 1.5 times compared to a sample without additives. Green trade barriers are often seen as a catalyst that promotes exporting countries to develop green technologies. However, by distinguishing the green technology behavior of enterprises into green technology transformation and green technology innovation, this paper finds that although green trade barriers can encourage enterprises in exporting countries to increase investment in green technology transformation in order to obtain rapid market access, they crowd out the resources of green technology innovation of enterprises. In other words, green trade barriers will strengthen enterprises' dependence on the introduction of green technologies, weaken their innovation capabilities, and increase the risk of being locked in the middle of the global industrial chain, creating a trap effect. Using the data of enterprises in the heavily polluting industry of A-shares from 2009 to 2021, this paper confirms the existence of the trap effect. In addition, this paper finds that due to the influence of short-sightedness of managers, alleviating corporate financing constraints can enhance the promotion effect of green trade barriers on the green technological transformation of enterprises, but cannot reduce its inhibiting effect on green technology innovation. The study also finds that even if the time window is extended to the medium and long term, green trade barriers cannot have a significant positive impact on enterprises' green technology innovation. Therefore, the government should not overestimate the role of green trade barriers in encouraging green development and green technology innovation, nor should it rely too much on loose financing policies. This research delves into the global research trends on crowd management, specifically focusing on the Tawaf ritual at the Kaaba, through a bibliometric analysis of papers cataloged in the Web of Science. Employing Biblioshiny and VOSviewer, we analyzed publication and citation dynamics, the most cited countries and prolific authors, and the collaboration patterns within and across countries. This study reveals that technological advancements have become pivotal in proposing innovative crowd management strategies, particularly in Tawaf. This insight is crucial, as it suggests a significant shift towards integrating technology with traditional crowd management practices to enhance safety and efficiency in managing large crowds. Prominent figures in this domain include researchers Zafar, B. and Manocha, D., with the USA and Umm Al-Qura University, being the most-cited country and institution, respectively. With multi-authorship being prominently observed in 91.30% of the articles, indicating a strong collaborative network among researchers and institutions worldwide, the findings offer valuable insights for evaluating the impact and productivity of journals and institutions within this research domain. In this sense, a bibliometric study is carried out based on the analysis of scientific works published in the Web of Science database. The searches were carried out using the keywords "digital technology", "performance", and "satisfaction". Querying the database revealed the existence of 1005 papers, collected data being analyzed with the help of Microsoft Excel and VOSviewer software. The collected and analyzed data highlighted the existence of several clusters of publications, authors or organizations that addressed the analyzed topic. This research also indicates clusters of keywords that suggest potential directions for future research and clearly identify the impact of digital technology on organizational performance and employee or customer satisfaction. Through this bibliometric study, the authors provide valuable information from which to start those who want to investigate the digital domains, organizational performance, or satisfaction in organizations. Foresight methods have been used by governments to reduce the margin of error in decision-making, but there is no golden rule for foresight activity; rather, several methods are combined to support decision-making. This article proposes an index number to support Technology Foresight in the field of Pharmacology/Pharmacy. The index number was formed by the relationship between bibliometric and human resources variables. First, Principal Components Analysis was used to reduce the initial bibliometric variables proposed by literature. Finally, Data Envelopment Analysis was used to calculate the number of Decision-Making Units (DMU), which are the most prolific institutions in the study country. The study examined 12 DMUs with 2,744 human resources (100% with academic degree) and 1,515 with research category (55.2%) from these, 217 granted patents (17.1% cited patents) and 1,017 papers (92.3% cited papers) were obtained. A simple but robust index was obtained to support decision-making in Technology Foresight. The results obtained from DMUs affect the Technology Foresight Index due to some institutions with low levels of scientific and technological activity and others with many highly qualified personnel. Technology foresight should be performed periodically by governments to reduce uncertainty in the innovation process and to develop highly competitive technologies. In this sense, this index is reliable for decision-making in the field of pharmacology/pharmaceuticals. It proposes a novel index relating bibliometric variables (output indicator) and human resources variables (input indicator) to foresee the scientific and technological development in the field of Pharmacology/Pharmacy at the national level.
