Linking cultural evolution with natural evolution does leave several questions that the author pose as yet not central to social sciences: ¿Do we depend more on culture or on genetics for survival? However, biological evolution of the human brain has not kept pace with the evolution of human culture, much less with an ever increasing velocity in the transmission of memes (the cultural equivalent of genes) ([3]). As the author argues, understanding the roots and development of human ethics as part of the general natural history of the human species helps to identify the possible limits to changing our behavior, fundamental to the social, environmental and policy sciences.
