Based on a review of existing standards and guidelines as well as the current international practice of modeling measurement units and related concepts in representation of economic and statistical data, the broad notion of unit of measure is decomposed into its basic building blocks and their interrelations. As these components are often presented as part of the measured indicator, the indicators themselves were included in the analysis. The resulting semantic model is regarded as a contribution to the further development of the content oriented guidelines in terms of harmonizing cross-domain concepts such as the unit of measure. We present a data exchange framework that is capable of exchanging uncertain data with lineage and give meaningful certain answers on queries posed on the target schema. The data are stored in a database with uncertainty and lineage (ULDB) which represents a set of possible instances that are databases with lineage (LDBs). Hence we need first to revisit all the notions related to data exchange for the case of LDBs. Producing all possible instances of a ULDB, like the semantics of certain answers would indicate, is exponential. We present a more efficient approach: a u-chase algorithm that extends the known chase procedure of traditional data exchange and show that it can be used to correctly compute certain answers for conjunctive queries in PTIME for a set of weakly acyclic tuple generating dependencies. We further show that if we allow equality generating dependencies in the set of constraints then computing certain answers for conjunctive queries becomes NP-hard. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper proposes a program of efficient dual-port SRAM data exchange without waiting with FIFO-based cache, which is targeted for timely, massive and interactive features of data transmission in MIMO systems, using FIFO as a dual-port SRAM external cache to achieve real-time data exchange between multiple systems or processors. The program can solve time conflict and data covering problem in the competitive state of data storage, reduce the transmission delay to wait for data exchange. This paper uses dual-port SRAM CY7C019 to do a simulation test for the program, which can realize effective addressing between memory and CPU in address mapping way. An intelligent transportation system (ITS) incorporates a variety of equipment and devices that all work in mutual harmony. However, each piece of equipment or device has its data format and protocol. Therefore, they cannot directly exchange data with each other. In this research, a unified framework for data exchange in an ITS is proposed. The proposed mechanism serves to receive data from several equipments outside of cars, repackages the received data and then dispatches the data to devices inside the cars. In pig production software and electronic systems are widely used for process control and management. Unfortunately most devices on farms are proprietary solutions and autonomically working. To unify data communication of devices in agricultural husbandry, the international standard ISOagriNET (ISO 17532:2007) was developed. It defines data formats and exchange protocols, to link up devices like climate controls, feeding systems and sensors, but also management software. The aim of the research project, "Information and Data Collection in Livestock Systems" is to develop an ISOagriNET compliant IT system, a so called Farming Cell. It integrates all electronic components to acquire the available data and information for pig fattening. That way, an additional benefit to humans, animals and the environment regarding process control and documentation, can be generated. Developing the Farming Cell is very complex; in detail it is very difficult and long-winded to integrate hardware and software by various vendors into an ISOagriNET compliant IT system. Automating the discovery of mappings between structured data sources is a long standing and important problem in data management. We discuss the rich history of the problem and the variety of technical solutions advanced in the database community over the previous four decades. Based on this discussion, we develop a basic statement of the data mapping problem and a general framework for reasoning about the design space of system solutions to the problem. We then concretely illustrate the framework with the Tupelo system for data mapping discovery, focusing on the important common case of relational data sources. Treating mapping discovery as example-driven search in a space of transformations, Tupelo generates queries encompassing the full range of structural and semantic heterogeneities encountered in relational data mapping. Hence, Tupelo is applicable in a wide range of data mapping scenarios. Finally, we present the results of extensive empirical validation, both on synthetic and real world datasets, indicating that the system is both viable and effective. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The problems formulated for a class of expert systems with knowledge representation in the form of facts can be solved applying the logic-algebraic (LA) method. Parallel processing of logic-algebraic algorithms addresses issue of data exchange. During so called task composition step the data processed on each processor has to be distributed to all other processors. In the paper we introduce a multiphase data exchange used for information dissemination in LA parallel computations. Information integration is becoming a critical problem for businesses and individuals alike. Data volumes are sky-rocketing, and new sources and types of information are proliferating. This paper briefly reviews some of the key research accomplishments in information integration (theory and systems), then describes the current state-of-the-art in commercial practice, and the challenges (still) faced by CIOs and application developers. One critical challenge is choosing the right combination of tools and technologies to do the integration. Although each has been studied separately, we lack a unified (and certainly, a unifying) understanding of these various approaches to integration. Experience with a variety of integration projects suggests that we need a broader framework, perhaps even a theory, which explicitly takes into account requirements on the result of the integration, and considers the entire end-to-end integration process.
