A definition of the term "serum sickness" is presented. It refers to a condition caused by in vitro injection of foreign proteins or antigen which then lead to formation of immune complexes called antibody-antigen complexes. The condition was described in 1905. The manifestations of immunological hyperreaction are rashes, fever and nephritis.
