Abstract: The article presents definition of several terms related to the employment laws starting with alphabet U including unemployment benefits, unfair labor practice and Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). The term "unemployment benefits" refers to financial assistance given to workers who are temporarily out of job. Another "unfair labor practices" are actions taken by employers that are illegal.

Abstract: A chapter of the book "An A-Z of Employment Law" is presented. It examines labor law provisions for time off work to care for dependants in Great Britain. A dependant refers to an employee's spouse, partner, child, parent, relative or some other person living in the same household as the employee. An employee who is dismissed or selected for redundancy will be held to have been unfairly dismissed if the reason for the action was that he had taken time off for dependants.
