Abstract

A co-evolutionary particle swarm optimization is proposed for multiobjective optimization (MO), in which co-evolutionary operator, competition mutation operator and new selection mechanism are designed for MO problem to guide the whole evolutionary process. By the sharing and exchange of information among particles, it can not only shrink the searching region but maintain the diversity of the population, avoid getting trapped in local optima which is proved to be effective in providing an appropriate selection pressure to propel the population towards the Pareto-optimal Front. Finally, the proposed algorithm is evaluated by the proposed quality measures and metrics in literatures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

14. New Quality Measures for Multiobjective Programming.

Abstract

In the case of multiobjective evolutionary algorithm, the outcome is usually an approximation of the true Pareto Optimal set and how to evaluate the quality of the approximation of the Pareto-optimal set is very important. In this paper, improved measures are carried out to the approximation, uniformity and well extended for the approximation of the Pareto optimal set with the advantage of easy to operate. Finally, we apply our measures to the four multiobjective evolutionary algorithms that are representative of the state-of-the-art on the standard functions. Results indicate that the measures are highly competitive and can be conducted to the comparisons of the approximation set. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
