The article attempts to show that the simple charge of racism is imprecise when one talks about visual pleasures generated by depictions of interracial lust. The 1975 film Mandingo, while not an example of interracial pornography proper, has permitted to probe some of the deeper questions of power and pleasure in depictions of interracial lust. All depictions of interracial lust develop out of the relations of inequality that have prevailed between the races. It is a visual rhetoric of anxiety specifically located at the rapidly evolving interface between corporeal body and computer screen. It is an anxiety concerning the possible lack of control and autonomy of that body when confronted with this technology. On the level of sexuality, it figures the relationship between body and networked computer as peculiarly and unwholesomely dissolute. It gestures toward important questions of proximity and identification by specifically staging the corporeality of the encounter with pornography, as well as the corporeality of the encounter with the computer. Digital technology was perceived as threatening the integrity of the user's bodies, and the issue of cybersex could be seen as a kind of summa of these fantasies and fears.

This study focused on the impact of relationship functioning, relationship satisfaction, psychological adjustment, and the thematic content of sexual fantasies endorsed by lesbian and bisexual couples during masturbation and sexual relations. The sample consisted of 129 women (85 lesbian, 44 bisexual) who were part of a same-sex couple (average relationship duration of 5-10 years). Participants (94% Euro-Americans) were recruited through advertisements placed in national gay and lesbian periodicals.
