Several studies concerning the bird community inhabiting the rubber plantations at Universitas Indonesia, Depok have been previously conducted. However, Universitas Indonesia has since developed infrastructure that may have affected the population of the bird community. Here, we investigated the effect of rubber plantation land reduction on the resident bird community. The birds were surveyed using a point-count at 4 subtype rubber plantations in the morning, afternoon, and evening. The number of unit sampling was determined using the curve method. Totally, 16 species from 12 families were found. The composition of species in the rubber plantation has changed; only 6 species from the previously studies were found. The diversity index increased from 2.02 (previous study) to 2.06, and the evenness index was 0.75, indicating that the bird community is quite even. This study revealed that the dominant species of birds have changed to Collocalia linchi, Pycnonotus aurigaster, Dicaeum trochileum, Nectarnia jugularis, Hirundo sp., Passer montanus, and Pericrocotus cinnamomeus.
