The perforated caissons are widely used to decrease wave force and reflection effectively in costal engineering. The nonlinear interactions between waves and partially perforated caissons are investigated using the weakly compressible Smoothed Particle IIydrodynamic (WCSPII) method. An improved algorithm based on the dynamic boundary particles (DBPs) is proposed to treat the solid boundary. The performance of the model is validated by the analytical solution of the surface elevations and wave pressures in front of the vertical wall. The SPII results of the reflection coefficients of the perforated caissons are compared with the available experiment data and good agreements are obtained. The wave pressures on the perforated front wall and the rear wall are analyzed. The effects of the relative wave chamber width B/Lc and the porosity of the perforated wall on the wave energy dissipation of the perforated caissons are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To complement the time-series observations of the Kepler space mission in the K2 fields, spectroscopic observations for hundreds of thousands of stars in these fields are hugely important. LAMOST, a Chinese 4-meter class telescope equipped with 4000 fibers on the focal plane, is an ideal facility to fulfill this task. The LAMOST-K2 project was approved in the autumn of 2015 and observations commenced during the 2015-2016 winter season. The project will initially cover 6 of the first 10 observed K2 campaigns, and may be extended to include later K2 campaigns. The article focuses on the numerical study of irregular wave impacting. A discussion of numerical results of the comparison between impact pressure and previous wave flume in the absorption of wave flume is included. An overview of the influence of relative incident wave height, relative structure length and relative clearance on impact pressure is offered. The authors were able to establish and verify non-reflecting numerical wave flume with an active wave-maker and a layer in volume of fluid for the irregular wave slamming problems.

The article presents a spectral analysis of unidirectional irregular wave slamming on a three-dimensional structure in the splash zone. It explains the distribution characteristics of the zeroth moment of the perpendicular and oblique wave impact pressure spectrum along the surface of the structure. It discusses the effects of different incident wave parameters on the non-dimensional zeroth moment of the impact force spectrum. It also provides the empirical expression of the impact forces and zeroth moment of the impact force spectrum.
