Separation of T[sub h]-hexakis-dicarboxymethanofullerene-C[sub 60] from its degradation products has been performed using Dionex ASA4 ion exchange chromatographic column. Previously developed [1] separation method was optimized and used for the monitoring of the degradation processes of T[sub h]-hexakis-dicarboxymethanofullerene-C[sub 60]. A gradient elution method was used for the baseline separation of fullerene derivatives. The eluent (KOH) concentration was increased from 0.4 M up to 1M. T[sub h]-hexakis-dicarboxymethanofullerene-C[sub 60] and its degradation products were detected by UV absorption at 330 nm. Stability of T[sub h]hexakis-dicarboxymethanofullerene-C[sub 60] in aqueous solutions has been investigated at different conditions. It was found that T[sub h]-hexakis-dicarboxymethanofullerene-C[sub 60] is stable in basic aqueous solutions while in acidic and neutral solutions degradation was observed.
