In this paper, the effect of fault arc behavior on single-pole auto-reclosure dead time in high-voltage transmission lines is investigated by modeling an accurate and developed dynamic arc model that considers primary and secondary arc behavior. Incorporate with MATLAB software. The dead time of the 400kV power transmission line single-phase Auto-reclosure interval being investigated throughout the simulation of the dynamic behavior of the fault arc showing that the short circuit fault arcing incorporated with the dynamic arc model is more accurate and reliable than representing the model by short circuit or fixed resistance the analysis results show the precise instant of the secondary arc extinction. This represents the last event before safe reclosing is permitted to prove the validity done by comparison with a practical test circuit. This can be utilized in the analysis of one-phase auto reclosing dead time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
