Even providing several benefits and facilities with regard to teaching and learning, mobile learning environments present problems and challenges that must be investigated, especially with respect to the definition and standardization of architectural aspects. Most of these environments are still built in isolation, with particular structures and architectures, hindering aspects such as reuse and interoperability, for instance. On the other hand, several initiatives of using service orientation aspects to support and help the architectural definition of software systems have been investigated. Motivated by this scenario, in this paper we propose a set of architectural requirements for service-oriented mobile learning environments. The architectural requirements are defined by means of a systematic process, being prioritized and complemented with the help of domain experts. In the very end, the main goal is to provide an adequate support for the architectural design of mobile learning environments, promoting quality, interoperability, reuse and reduction of the time spent in the development of such environments. This study investigated the level of future physical education teachers' self-efficacy to inclusion of students with disabilities and its relation to the source of physiological and affective states. One hundred eighty eight physical education student teachers responded to a self-efficacy scale towards inclusion, and the teacher self-efficacy source's scale. Participants presented moderate teacher self-efficacy for inclusion, being the inclusion of students with physical disability the strongest dimension. Physiological and affective states were related more powerfully to inclusion of students with physical disability than with intellectual and visual disability. Results support the proposition that is essential that teacher education programs offer opportunity for future teachers to develop their own competencies to promote the inclusion in the classes.

This research aimed to evaluate, from real data, the potential of energy generation from the anaerobic digestion of pig manure enhanced with magnetite addition. The study performed by Córdova et al. (2020) achieved maximum methane generated value of 3.82.10-2 Nm³CH4/kgVS (1.97.10-4 Nm³CH4/kg substrate) with the addition of 8 g of magnetite. From this value, for a variable number of pig heads at different ages, we perform the calculations of obtaining power and energy and the economic feasibility calculations using the Net Present Value (NPV) and the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE). The analyses considered the premises of the micro and mini generation regulation of renewable energy distributed by the Brazilian National Electric Energy Agency. Besides, the GHG avoided emissions in the Brazilian National Interconnected System (NIS) by using this type of renewable energy was calculated. The results showed that under the analyzed scenario, farms from 360,400 pig heads would produce 586.43 ton/year of manure, whose anaerobic digestion will produce 42,167.35 Nm³CH4/year (equivalent to 60,299.31kg/year of liquefied petroleum gas), 100.64kWh/year of electric energy (NPV = $2.12 and LCOE = 100.5US$/kWh). This number of pig heads could avoid 22.09tCO2/year, and for 981,000 heads, this value would be 60.14tCO2/year. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The proper disposal of scrap tires is a global concern regarding solid waste management. Due to the long decomposing time of the tire, the environmental contamination and health diseases result from inappropriate disposal of scrap tires. Nowadays, many alternatives to reinsert this solid waste in the productive chain have been developed. In Brazil, in the last eight years, more than four million tons of scrap tires were reused or disposed of properly. From this amount, 54% was used as fuel in cement plants through co-processing. In this scenario, this work aims to establish a relation between the energy consumption in the tire manufacturing industry and the energy saved by the coprocessing of scrap tires in cement plants. The methodology was based on the analysis of Brazilian government data and preceding studies. From these data, a balance among the energy consumption to produce tires and to reuse this solid waste was evaluated. As a result, it was verified that it is possible to save up to 80.5% in weight of the fossil fuel by replacing it by scrap tires in cement plants. Also, the final energy balance between tire production and co-processing is about 16.55 MJ/kg, which represents 30% of the energetic benefit. However, alternative fuels in Brazilian cement plants still represent only 15% of the scrap tire total recycled, while in developed countries this represents over 40%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The description of larval stages of Anastrepha species is a priority from both taxonomic and quarantine viewpoints. In this study, we describe and illustrate for the first time the second and third instar larvae of Anastrepha amita Zucchi, and the third instar larvae of Anastrepha sororcula Zucchi and Anastrepha zenildae Zucchi. Composting is an ages-old technology which is still practiced worldwide as a primary avenue for nutrient recycling from organic waste. However, the process is not without issues. Among the major challenge include the long composting time, odor emission, and noticeable lack of process automation, optimization and integration. In this work, an enhanced conceptual design of a continuous composting unit which has the potential to overcome most of the drawbacks associated with the existing systems is presented. The improved design consists of a tubular housing inclined at 35° with a screw conveyor, a maturation reactor, and an adsorption column. The inclined angle helps to inoculate the fresh feed with an active native microorganism which migrates down with the leachate. The system will be self-sustainable and fully automated with energy supplied by a photovoltaic panel. An energy storage device is proposed to account for days when the sunlight is not available. This study deals with the management of solid household waste in a municipal base in Brazil's Amazon region. The aim here, in search of conceptual innovations of sustainability is to study solid waste management in a household, focusing on the reduction of waste for urban development. The specific objectives are: (1) to identify how important residents think solid household waste is, and (2) to assess how much they know about selective collection and where waste goes; and (3) to propose conceptual innovation in managing solid residues and sustainability. Interpreting the behavior of residents in their environment is based on the Theory of Knowledge, while a deeper knowledge of and guide to innovative behavior to solve a problem depends on the U Theory. The sample population of lower middle-class households was explored and described in qualitative and quantitative ways, with nature as the field of study, with results. The findings show that the inadequate management of domestic solid waste results from inattention to the claims of sustainability, but conceptual innovation in environmental, economic and social thinking could reform it. The research proposes action that entrepreneurs might take to optimize sustainable social and economic development in the Amazon, to the possible benefit business owners, governments and others interested in waste- related issues. There's a developing propensity of using of real-time interactions and changing over the signals to the virtual situations. In this paper, we show a gesture interfacing controller for real-time communication between the Leap Motion sensor and games. Combined to this, we do compare the adequacy of different algorithms of machine learning calculations for real-time hand gesture recognition to discover the foremost ideal way to identify static hand gestures, as well as the foremost ideal sample size for utilizing in the training step of the calculations. Additionally, we present a novel in-active hand signal data set containing 1200 tests for 10 inactive motion classes. In our system, Leap Motion and Unity were utilized to extricate the information. The Collaborative Care (CC) process, in Brazil also known as Matrix Support (MS), has as main purpose integrate Primary Care (PC) and Psychiatry Care in Mental Health (MH) in a shared and collaborative care construction of pedagogical-therapeutic interventions. This model, created in the 21st century, approaches a new structural concept between PC and MH in several cities of Brazil. Therefore, this paper aims to propose the modeling a novel web system that is able to improve the CC process by systematization, computerization, standardization and documentation of the practices involved in the process. The system should be able to promote the communication between the health team professionals and enhance the networking. Hence, the Unified Modeling Language (UML) was used to build the modeling based in the specified requirements from collaborative care workshops with several mental health and primary care professionals in the city of Natal, organized by the Onofre Lopes University Hospital (HUOL) in partnership with the Laboratory for Technological Innovation in Health (LAIS) of Rio Grande do Norte Federal University (UFRN) and Natal Health Department. Thus, to compose the proposed modeling, the UML diagrams of Use Cases, Classes and Activities were developed, modeling the GEMA system, which intends to facilitate and potentialize the integration between Primary Care and Mental Health Teams. Due to the increasing generation of sewage sludge, the proper disposal of this waste has become a challenge. In agriculture, its use is viable in non-food crops and in those that require a large amount of fertilizer, such as rosebushes. Therefore, the aim of this work was to study the effect of the sludge application from the primary facultative pond in the root system of the rosebush variety 'Carola' with the image processing software SAFIRA. The roses were planted in 20 L buckets, and sludge was incorporated into the topsoil. The treatments were: T1-control treatment (without N), T2-12 Mg ha-1 sludge on a dry basis (DB), T3-24 Mg ha-1 sludge DB, T4-36 Mg ha-1 sludge DB and T5-mineral fertilizer (100 kg N ha-1). The experimental design was a randomized block. The apparent volume of the roots was determined with SAFIRA software. The volumes found were 17.25 mL, 12.20 mL, 13.60 mL, 20.40 mL and 22.10 mL for T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5, respectively. This study concerns the management of technology in the selective collection of solid waste. Its main objective is to study the complexity of the technological management of the collection of solid waste, through the prism of reverse logistics; and it proposes specific objectives: (1) to describe the form of concentration of solid waste in the group studied; (2) analyze the impact of the volume of solid waste; and (3) propose intervention measures for solid waste management. It addresses the question of what technology management model should be used to meet efficiently the selective collection of solid waste in the Amazon. Founded on the theory of convergence, it studies the competitive advantage strategy by understanding the organizational system in the environment in which it operates; on this theory, Nobre (2011) addresses knowledge as a source that transmits the competitive edge in order to contribute to the organizational system of the company. The research is qualitative and descriptive; it applies the Case Study method, and related procedures. As a study, it verifies the existence of vulnerability in the investigated collector cooperatives, which influences the research conclusions in this paper. It finds that the collectors employed by these organizations play a key role in reverse logistics; these are the significant environmental agents in the process of reusing and recycling materials; thus they can return the waste to the production chain adding value and promoting shared management, through the integration of cooperatives and associations. The results also point to the absence of a system to promote environmental education, despising the potential viability of the materials, regardless of the possible economic and social improvements to the Amazonians and their families. The system proposed here involves the selective collection of solid waste by intelligent machines, applying reverse logistics. The worldwide web community has been experiencing the benefits of the development of e-learning tools for many areas of knowledge. However, Digital Photogrammetry, that aims at reconstituting and modeling the 3D attributes of real world objects underlain on 2D digital images, is a field that remains practically unexploited. One exception is the E-FOTO project which aims at developing a Digital Photogrammetric Station (DPS) for educational purposes. A DPS can be understood as a dedicated system able to perform digital photogrametry tasks. This project is based upon the self-learning approach and on the principles of the Free- Software community. In the E-FOTO's web page, several modules which compose the DPS, the respective sources, manuals, the e- book about digital photogrammetry and sample data are available and together compose the project's e-learning environment. The open source architecture, under the license GNU/GPL, brings several educational advantages, among which access to the algorithms implementation and the opportunity inclusion of user-made solutions. Besides, the community can also actively contribute for the project by sharing through the E-FOTO's web environment both algorithms and new modules. The open architecture adoption of is one of the main innovative aspects of the E-FOTO project pedagogy, as well, bringing the only educational environment available on the web for teaching, self-learning and cooperative development of Digital Photogrammetry techniques with an educative DPS. Twin-screw multiphase pumps have been a good alternative to substitute conventional pumping equipment (composed, e.g., by fluid separation, liquid pumping and gas compression facilities) for petroleum boosting due to the fact that it is able to "pump" mixtures of liquid and gas at very different gas volume fractions (GVF's), in a large range of differential pressures, and, thus, reducing production costs in deepwater explotation activities. Although the thermo-hydraulic behavior of this kind of pump has been extensively studied in the literature in the last decades, relatively little attention has been deserved to its structural behavior, including the analysis of the maximum transversal displacements of the rotors of the pump, which must be extremely small since the peripheral gaps between the rotor and the liner have the order of magnitude of 0.1 mm and any kind of contact between rotor and liner must be avoided, in order not to cause wear, high contact stresses and a possible failure of the rotor. The aim of this paper is to present an analytical-numerical model, based in the modal analysis of a simplified geometry of the rotor, as a first approach to estimate the maximum transversal displacements of the rotor of a given multiphase pump. In this preliminary study only the self-weight of the rotor is considered in the dynamic analysis, however both gyroscopic and rotatory inertia effects are included in the structural response, showing that the maximum transversal displacement in dynamic conditions is about twice the observed in static conditions at the same location. The electronic waste or e-Waste is classified by law as hazardous due to the potential toxicity of some materials that compose them. So your improper discard poses risks to human health and environmental integrity. The purpose of this article is to identify the management scenario of technology-intensive discard of e-Waste in electro-electronic techniques assists in the Municipality of Vilhena, located in the State of Rondônia, Western Brazilian Amazon. To achieve the expected results we sought to analyze the legislation applied to the discard of e- Waste and the shared environmental responsibility from the perspective of reverse logistics. The management of this e-waste discard has been mapped and identified as influencing the finances of companies surveyed. We applied the method of multiple case study, adopting the required procedures such as taking samples from 14 companies in an exploratory way. Triangulation of data was done by application of interviews, archival work and intensive direct observation. As a result it was possible to claim a breakthrough Brazilian law after the adoption of Law 12,305/2010, which determines participation in the reverse logistics of everyone involved in the consumer electronics cycle. Raised as literature, business technical assistance in EEE are potential agents in this process, but in practice it appears to the paucity and inadequacy of the procedures that endangers the environment while exposing individuals to contamination. Regarding the financial impact, this proved insignificant in relation to discard as a result of these improper practices. In this study, the compressibility parameters of MSW (Municipal Solid Waste) were obtained using a large-scale oedometric chamber. The MSW samples were collected at the Delta A Municipal Sanitary Landfill in the city of Campinas, southeastern Brazil. Individual compressibility tests were performed with different loads and maintained for 30 days. The MSW compressibility was based on one-dimensional consolidation theory which considers the total settlement of MSW composed by two parts: one primary and other secondary. The first part refers to immediate settlement due to stress applications, and the second part is associated with strains from mechanical fluency (creep) and from MSW biological decomposition. This study involves the use of forest waste through the application of social technologies. The task is a result of pedagogical actions taken under the tutelage of companies operating in the Amazon and its counterparts environmental projects with the construction of the bridge over the Rio Madeira. The fact is that many remnants of the Amazon rainforest could be utilized as a component in building artifacts as decorative items for interiors, modern utilitarian baskets, recycled paper, feminine props, natural gifts, among others. However residents have no means oriented practices compatible, losing the capillarity in the transformation process of environmental services. The Theory of Eco-development and sustainability concepts join to support the preparation of this task. Method Case Study of qualitative and descriptive nature was adopted by the common procedures. General objective is intended to empower social actors to the use of forest residues in the Western Brazilian Amazon. To achieve results, it was considered as specific goals, diagnose the reality of cyclical affected by the construction of the bridge over the Wood River populations, in order to engage in the practices of use of forest residues (1); Enhancing educational measures to empower stakeholders Amazonians to sustainable social technologies in order to optimize their knowledge to produce useful artifacts (2); Develop and integrative measures between local producers and trade groups artifacts to capture income (3). The expected results turn to the effects of causal relationship, taking as a paradigm similar work done by Pedro Filho (2010) with the excluded Communities, and exposed in the 26th International Conference on Solid Waste Technology and Management in Philadelphia, United States of America.
