Ozone has been used to decolorize a synthetic waetewater, from an acid dyeing process. In this preliminary report, results have been obtained describing the influence of pH and temperature on the rate of color removal and ozone consumption. Experiments were conducted in a thermostated bubble column under batch conditions. According to the preliminary results, the interaction temperature-pH has a significant influence on the decolorization reaction, and the consumption of ozone is greater at a temperature of 30°C than 10°C independent of the pH.
