Salvia miltiorrhiza, as a traditional Chinese medicine, displayed excellent effect on the therapies of promoting blood circulation and removing meridian obstruction. Otherwise, it also showed advantages in detumescence and clearing heart. According to the literatures, the traditional extraction method had defects, such as low extraction rate, long reaction time and high cost. Based on our precious research, enzymatic methodand HPLC were combined in this work to evaluate the extraction condition. Via plenty of single factor experiments and orthogonal experiments, we conclude that the best extraction conditions of salvia miltiorrhiza phenolic acid B is extraction time for 20 minutes, pH value of 3, extraction temperature at 45℃, the ratio of material to liquid is 1:20, the ratio of pectinase to cellulase is 2:1 and the volume of addition enzyme is 1.5%. As a result, the extraction rate of phenolic acid B in salvia miltiorrhiza reaches 78%. The optimized extraction process is reasonable, stable and feasible, which provides a certain theoretical basis for the industrial production of salvianolic acid B. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
