Abstract

The purpose of this study is to offer an estimate of the increase in unconfined compressive strength of soil that may be ascribed to the mixing of quarry dust with soil. This information will be useful in the design of future construction projects. The Following Are Classified As: An unconfined compressive (UCC) strength technique is used to two different sets of soil samples (group 1: soil without quarry dust, N=17; group 2: soil with 5 percent quarry dust, N=17) in order to evaluate and compare their respective relative unconfined compressive (UCC) strengths. We determined the appropriate size of our sample by using a pre-test power of eighty percent and confidence intervals of ninety-five percent. The findings of the studies indicate that the addition of quarry dust to soil increases its UCC strength, which indicates that the soil is more resistant to erosion. As a result of the fact that the value of p was computed to be 0.0001 (p0.05), we have reached the conclusion that there is a statistically significant difference (two-tailed) between the two groups of soil. With an increase in UCC strength comes an increase in both the shear strength and cohesiveness of the soil. As a result, we draw the conclusion that quarry dust might be used efficiently as an addition with weak soils. As a consequence of this, the novel quarry dust Soil Composite has the potential to be used in the building of infrastructure that is not only long-lasting but also kind to the environment and cost-effective. Abstract

The main objective of this study is to compare plasticity characteristics of soil due to addition of rice husk ash (RHA). Casagrande liquid limit test and plastic limit test are conducted for two groups of soil samples to study the differences in Atterberg limits (group 1: soil without RHA, N = 17; group 2: soil with 5% RHA, N = 17). The pre-test power and confidence intervals were chosen as 80% and 95% respectively for sample size calculation. Test results show that the liquid limit and plastic limit of soil decrease due to addition of RHA with soil. There is a significant difference (2 tailed) between two groups of soil as the value of p is 0.0001 and 0.007 for liquid limit and plastic limit values respectively. Decrease in liquid limit and plastic limit signify decrease in compressibility of the resulting soil + RHA mixture. Therefore RHA can be used as an innovative additive material with clay soils in place of costly good quality earth fills in building infrastructures effectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Many fire accidents have occurred in recent times, and almost 95% of fire industry accidents are caused by manual errors and frictions. Other factors that have a large impact on casualties include temperature mismatching, human carelessness, chemical frictions, static electricity, and atmospheric conditions. These causes create massive destruction in the fireworks industry and have led to a high death rate in the past decades. This paper introduces a new machine learning strategy called Extensive Fire Based Risk Factor Estimation (EFBRFE) based on a past accident dataset. It analyzes the factors influencing an explosion in the firework industry related to a fatal accident. The proposed approach's results demonstrate the efficacy of a new model, the level of risk assessment, and the identification of human flaws in the working environment required to lead a safe manufacturing scenario. These significant issues provide a practical and intellectual framework for the Virudhunagar district firework manufacturing industry. The dataset pertains to fireworks accidents in this district. The accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of this model are 99.10%, 98.4%, and 97.6%, respectively.
