Abstract

Shell-model Monte Carlo techniques allow a microscopic calculation of thermodynamical properties of atomic nuclei. Here, it is applied to a mean-field plus pairing model for [sup 50]Cr. Thermodynamical properties such as the specific heat and level densities are studied. Indication of a pairing phase transition is found. © 2000 American Institute of Physics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
