This paper will provide an overview of the descriptive analysis, which will focus on both client andprogam characteristics. Data from the MIS and the Gang Membership Inventory Instrument will be used to capture a general picutre of each grant site's set of clients. Beyond basic demographics, information on the client's family, living situation, substance abuse, education and involvement with the criminal justice system will be presented. Data collected using the GMI will be used to discuss general client attitudes and delinquent behaviors. Data from the MIS will be used to describe how different program elements were implemented across sites. The impact analysis will examine program efficacy. Community crime data will compare crime trends for both target and comparison areas, as well as look specifically at "gang-related" crime in the target areas. Criminal history information will compare potential differences in recidivism rates between target and comparison youth. Additional impact analysis will link program efficacy to specific components or characterisitcs of implementation. ..PAT.-Unpublished Manuscript [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
