The article presents a study on the silk finishing process that involves epoxy resins. It is said that the treating bath solution that contains epoxy resin and catalytic salt tend to be unstable following a short period of storage and that silk turns to yellow during the finishing process. Under the study, five epoxy resins have been assessed which include triglycidyl ether of glycerol (TEG), diglycidyl ether of ethylene glycol (DEE) and diglycidyl ether of propylene glycol (DEP). Results indicate that TEG and DEE emerged as effective agents in silk finishing.

Intracellular viscosity strongly influences transportation of mass and signal, interactions between the biomacromolecules, and diffusion of reactive metabolites in live cells such as ROS and RNS. Intracellular viscosity changes relate to a number of diseases and pathologies. So it is meaningful to investigate the microviscosity at cellular level. Fluorescent molecular rotors are recently developed sensors used to determine the environmental viscosity. Due to the complexity of live cells, it is important to carry out the viscosity determinations in multimode for high reliability and accuracy.
