An urgent task is to analyse the composition of biologically active substances in the bark of various types of lilac that can be used in pharmaceuticals., The relative content of various compounds included in extracts of 14 species of lilac was determined using GC-MS. It is shown that the composition of the studied extracts includes phenylpropanoid and phenolic compounds: benzeneethanol; 4-hydroxyl; benzenamine; N,3-dimethyl; benzoic acid; 4-formyl-, methyl ester; benzeneethanol, 4-hydroxyl; levodopa; trans-sinapyl alcohol; 3-deoxy-d-mannonic acid; 2(3H)-naphthalenone,4,4a,5,6,7,8-hexahy dro-4ª methyl. They increase the activity of nonspecific factors protecting the body and the immune system. The content of secondary metabolites varies depending on the species. Wolf's lilac (S. Wolfi); Amur lilac (S. amurensis); Pekinese lilac (S. pekin) and Common lilac (S. vulgaris) can be used to obtain biologically active substances. These species are introduced and grown in the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
