The development of organic rice faces the constraints that land convention takes a long time and at the beginning of land convertion from conventional to organic the production is low. In addition, the price difference between organic and conventional rice often cannot be enjoyed by farmers. This study aims to determine the attitude of farmers towards organic rice farming and the relationship between these factors and the attitude of farmers. This research was conducted in Sleman Regency which is the regency with the largest farmer groups that have been doing organic rice farming. This study's total number of respondents was 100 f armers with a proportional random sampling method. In this study, the aspects used include cognitive, affective, and conative aspects. The results of the study show that the cognitive aspects of organic rice farmers are in the known category, the affective aspect is in the agree category and the conative aspect is in the sometimes category. Overall the attitude of farmers is in the currently category. Internal factors that significantly influence farmers' attitudes are the farming experience and farmers' income. The overall geographical location of entire Bangladesh has displayed significant agricultural potential with a diversified crop portfolio. However, challenges hinder the growth of the region's agricultural supply chain. This study introduces a comprehensive and sustainable long-term framework for expanding the agricultural sector throughout Bangladesh. The research begins by examining the historical constraints that have characterized Bangladesh's agricultural economy, including subsistence farming and the dominance of intermediaries. Recent infrastructural improvements, such as new transportation networks, have opened up new opportunities for cultivating profitable crops like fruits and spices. Nevertheless, transportation remains a major barrier, impacting effective supply chain management and market access. To fully harness the agricultural potential of Bangladesh, we propose the implementation of a sustainable supply chain management structure founded on principles of sustainability, efficiency, and traceability. The study identifies sectors such as manufacturing, storage, transportation, packaging, marketing, and information sharing as areas requiring enhancement. Combining both quantitative and qualitative data gathered from 100 farmers through questionnaires and interviews, the study highlights issues like low agricultural yields, post-harvest losses, inadequate storage facilities, costly transportation, crop damage during transit and storage, limited market opportunities, and poor information exchange. The suggested roadmap addresses these challenges by promoting improved farming practices, enhanced storage facilities, efficient transportation networks, appropriate packaging, expanded marketing avenues, and improved information flow. The adoption of this approach would lead to a more efficient, profitable, and environmentally sustainable agricultural supply chain throughout Bangladesh, benefiting farmers, consumers, and the nation as a whole. This research was conducted in Podosoko Village, Candimulyo District. The purpose of this study is to determine communication behavior (seeking information through interpersonal communication, communication in groups, and exposure to information media) and farmers' attitudes, as well as knowing the effect of communication behavior on farmers' attitudes about making feed for Ayam Kampung (Free-range Chicken). 53 farmers are chosen for sampling using purposive sampling method. The data collection technique was done by interview and observation. The method used to determine the communication behavior and farmers' attitudes is descriptive analysis. Statistical analysis with multiple linear regression analysis is used to determine the effect of communication behavior on farmers' attitudes. The descriptive analysis shows that the value of communication behavior is 71.20 categorized in the medium category and the farmers' attitude value is 33.96, meaning that it is in the category of quite agree. The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that information seeking through interpersonal communication had a very significant effect (P < 0.01) on farmers' attitudes and communication in groups had a significant effect on farmers' attitudes also (P < 0.05). Crop yield prediction at plot scale is a vitally important magnitude for farmers at the socio-economic level. This study aims to quantify rice yield using phenological metrics from a normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) time series derived from Sentinel-2 imagery, with yield data collected from 32 plots with an area of 36 ha in the Ferreñafe District of the Lambayeque region, Peru. Three different rice yield models were obtained, the best linear regression models were obtained for the SVM classification, with R2 of 0.69, MAE = 1.01 and RMSE = 1.23 t ha−1; and MRL with R2 of 0.61, MAE = 1.10 and RMSE = 1.38 t ha−1; RF with R2 of 0.44, MAE = 1.23 and RMSE = 1.66 t ha−1. The models obtained open the possibility to generate more robust models using a larger number of samples, which would be useful for farmers as well as for management and planning decisions for food and economic security. Efforts to change the behavior of farmers in responding to the purification of Bali Cattle through artificial insemination technology are not easy to do. This is influenced by many factors, and the process takes a long time. This study aims to determine the behavior of farmers towards the purification of Bali cattle in Tanete Riaja District, Barru Regency, South Sulawesi Province. This research was conducted on four livestock farmer groups with a population of 140 farmers. The number of samples using the Slovin formula and stratified random sampling method was 58 people with a distribution of 12 people from the Lempangeng Livestock Farmers Group, 22 people from Makkawaru, 12 people from Sipurennue, and 12 people from Lempang taken by simple random sampling. Data were collected through interviews with the help of questionnaires measured using a Likert scale, namely a score of 1 to 3 with category 1=not good; 2=medium; and 3=good and analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results showed that the behavior of farmers towards the Bali cattle purification program consisted of sub-variables: (1) the attitude factor of the farmer; (2) farmer's subjective norm factor; and (3) the behavioral control factors of farmers are in a good category. The aim of this study is to perform an analysis of agricultural land use in the municipality of Panevėžys district. Farmers' farms of Panevėžys district municipality of Panevėžys county of the Republic of Lithuania were selected as the object of this study. The scope of agricultural activity in the years 2010-2022 was analyzed, the need of Rural development land management projects to reorganize farm land holdings, and the accuracy of the data for preparing these projects were assessed. Analysis of cartographic material and official statistical data was carried out, interview and questionnaire survey methods were applied. During the research the current dynamics of agricultural land use, forecasts of the future dynamics and the prevailing directions in the analyzed local and county municipalities were investigated. During this period the number of farms held by the farmers has decreased, but the land area managed by them and the average size of farms has increased. It was established that a large number of farmers (over 41%) implement the latest technologies and apply advanced tillage methods at work, so they should not have any difficulties in adapting to the new EU green rate rules. After conducting a survey of farmers, it was determined that a large number of farmers (31.5%) would like to reorganize their land holdings and participate in the land consolidation project if it is fully financed by the EU or the state. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of agricultural and extension facilities on production results through the effectiveness of the work of farmer groups in the Jeneponto Regency. The research method used is a quantitative research method with a sample of 100 people. Data collection techniques use questionnaires--data technique with path analysis techniques (path analysis). The results of this study show that agricultural and extension facilities are the most influential on the effectiveness of the work of farmer groups. Agricultural facilities, counseling, and work effectiveness also have a positive and significant effect on the production results of farmer groups. Agriculture is a major and important business in Bangladesh. A significant number of people are directly involved in farming and have particularly unique exposure as compared to other sectors. Musculoskeletal issues are not uncommon among farmers. The study aims to identify the factors responsible for the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders in farmers involved with rice cultivation in three selected villages, namely Ashighar dakkin, Ashighar uttar and Gilachara of Fenchuganj Upazila, Sylhet, Bangladesh. A total of 200 rice cultivators were selected randomly from the three selected villages. A questionnaire-based interview was conducted to collect data. Data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 version software and Microsoft Excel. The Chi-square test was employed to determine the significant association between multiple parameters and several musculoskeletal effects during various rice cultivation operations (ploughing, seeding, transplanting saplings, weeding, fertilizing, applying pesticides, cutting and threshing paddies). Findings show that except for weeding and fertilizing, the duration of work is a significant aspect in all rice cultivation operations. Work fatigue is a critical factor for seeding, fertilizing, transplanting saplings, cutting, and threshing, whereas the farmer's weight is a significant factor for ploughing, seeding, weeding, fertilizing, and applying pesticides. The use of nitrogen fertilizers inevitably causes external negative effects that can be mitigated by various means. This study focusses on tax of mineral nitrogen fertilizer. A study “Farmers' Response to Rise in Mineral Fertilizer Price” investigates the potential response of farmers to a possible tax on mineral nitrogen fertilizer use in Lithuania. Used survey method of data collection, therefore, a questionnaire was conducted to ask farmers, how they would adapt their fertilizer practice to a mineral nitrogen fertilizer tax. Research object: the impact of the nitrogen tax on nitrogen use. Research aim: to identify farmers’ response to changed prices for nitrogen fertilizer. Farmer’s responds were used to model the reaction of farmers to a tax. The obtained results showed a negative reaction in terms of mineral nitrogen fertilizer use to the rise in mineral fertilizer price. Introduction. At first, just the pines of the pineapple plant were harvested because they were the part of the plant that was regarded to have economic value. Pineapples can be grown and harvested, providing a source of revenue for farmers; in addition, both the pineapple fruit and its juice are essential to human nutrition. In addition to the volume of pineapples harvested, the amount of garbage that is produced is also a significant burden. Farmers would traditionally dispose of discarded pineapple leaves by burning them, but thanks to advances in science and technology, those leaves can now be used for something else. The fibres in the pineapple leaves are of a very high grade, and they can be extracted from the various leaf portions. Since ancient times, the fibres extracted from pineapple leaves have been included into the production of a wide variety of textile goods. When used as a material for fabric, ananas leaf fibre has the properties of being able to easily absorb moisture, being robust enough and not easily scratched, not being hot, and being able to absorb sweat; these traits are desirable. While the pineapple is being cooked, the leaves can be successfully peeled with minimal effort. In Indonesia, pineapple leaf fibre is commonly used as a textile thread, and this practise is carried out at the community level in the context of textile manufacture. Many people still rely on manual processes despite the fact that the process of extracting pineapple leaf fibres requires sophisticated equipment. The older pineapple leaves are removed, and while they are still moist, they are put through a machine that crushes them into fibres. After this step, the fibres are washed, combed, and left to dry. After going through this process, the fibres that have been spun into threads are then separated from one another and linked so that they can be woven into fabric (Mampuk, 2020). There are two steps involved in the process of extracting the fibres from the pineapple leaf, and these are the raw fibres and the fine fibres. During the first stage of the process, known as extraction, the leaf is broken down mechanically using extractor tools in order to produce rough fibres. The extracted raw fibres are then subjected to further processing in order to be transformed into the fine fibre that is found in the pineapple leaf. Vertical coordination in agri-food chains is a significant and increasing phenomenon in CEEC. It is observable that this development prefers large scale production. However, in these countries the agricultural sector is still a mixture of small scale and large-scale farming. The purpose of this paper is to report on the changing social structure and function of the Tochikairyoku (Land Improvement Associations) in Kitakami, Iwate Prefecture, located in North East Japan. This case study was conducted by interviewing executive members of the Iwate Chubu Tochikairyoku and the farming membership working the land and by collecting and examining all available data pertaining to the changes affecting the functioning of this organization. The Tochikairyoku is a non-profit public organization of and for farmers engaged in agriculture or animal husbandry and serves to liaise between farmers and central and local governments. All the costs of management and staff are borne by the members. All decisions to be undertaken must be ratified by the members. The results of the case study indicate that there has been a significant consolidation in the number of Tochikairyoku and farms owing to the dwindling rural population and the ageing of those actively farming the land. Another major factor has been the recent changes in the Japanese Government's policy that now favours bigger agricultural units over smaller farmers. The Tochikairyoku are instrumental in promoting the new government policies by maintaining irrigation infrastructure and improving the quality of arable land in order to encourage the leasing of land from the smaller farmers to the bigger farm units. The new 2018 Law has effected changes in the election of executive members of the Tochikairyoku to include representatives of agribusiness interests and has introduced a reform of the Tochikairyoku's accounting practices to make them more transparent. Despite the lapse of 30 years since the state system transformation in Poland was started, the rural areas in Poland that used to be occupied by state-owned farms continue to experience many complex economic and social problems. The state reforms, which for example led to the dissolution of all state-owned farms (in Polish, Państwowe Gospodarstwa Rolne, PGR), have had a significant effect on the formation of the institutional system in rural Poland. The existence and then liquidation of PGR affected not only the financial standing of large populations but also instilled in many a sense of entitlement, leading to the so-called learned hopelessness. An investigation into entrepreneurial attitudes shows that as many as 71.60% of the respondents equate 'being entrepreneurial' with 'starting own business'. Despite the difficult situation on the labour market, only 12.35% of the interviewed persons have tried to start their own companies after state-farms were dissolved. The main determinant of such a low level of entrepreneurship among the respondents, in their opinion, was the lack of own funds, as this was indicated by 49.38% of the surveyed population. This attitude is also manifested in the answers concerning expectations towards public administration - 82.10% assumed that the state should be responsible for providing direct financial support. The results of this study into entrepreneurial attitudes as well as previous investigations among residents living in rural areas formerly occupied by state farms confirm marginal interest in starting business activity among these populations. Silage for animal feeding can be made from different plants. One of the most important feed crops from which silage is made is maize. Special choppers can be used for cutting and chopping these coarse-stem plants. The most widespread silage preparation is done in trenches, where good quality silage can last for several years, making it one of the best feeds in winter. Incorrect picking and unloading of silage from trenches may result in secondary fermentation and may cause forage losses. Various types of equipment are used for silo unloading from storage. This work researches maize plants, the quality of maize silage and the process of silage making and unloading. The research was carried out in the laboratories of Agriculture Academy of Vytautas Magnus University and in a farmer's farm. Tests have been performed with three different silo unloaders and a mobile feed mixer. The established average corn plant yield in 2018 was 31.8 t ha-1; for silage making, the plants were chopped with the drum chopper. After evaluation of the fractional composition of chopped mass, the chopped maize slices were found to meet the silage production requirements, as even 82.6% of the chopped particles were 3.15-16 mm long. Maize slice moisture was also found to be suitable for silage - 66.12±7.3%. The density of prepared silage was high enough and reached 699.89±19.04 kg m-3 or 230.55±6.27 kg m-3 DM (dry matter). Silage unloaders test results showed that one sample of silage could be unloaded in 31-43 s. The bucket type device could take the maximum weight sample - 567.8±77.0 kg, but the maximum density of the silage sample (30.41±1.95 kg m-3) could be taken by a block-cutting unit. Also, this unloader left the smallest unevenness on the feed surface. Distribution of feed in the farm for the animal was fairly even and this indicated that the silage-unloading device had no significant impact on the quality of feed distribution. Soil compaction is the compression of soil particles in a lower volume as a consequence of the reduction of the spaces existing among the particles themselves. This phenomenon is caused by natural forces and, above all, human ones. In order to estimate the field damages that can be caused by the traffic of agricultural machines, the load and the mean pressure applied by the tyres onto the soil can be measured. The research aim is to determine the pressure applied by each considered tractor onto the soil, in order to evaluate the effect of the traffic of tractors onto the soil itself. A total of 783 wheeled tractors manufactured and marketed in the last 35 years (1979-2014) was investigated. Data like construction year, manufacturer, model, power, total weight, weight (load) on the front and rear axle, wheelbase, front and rear type of tyres, as well as the tyre specifications, were collected. The mean pressure applied by each tractor onto the soil was computed by dividing the load applied on each tyre by its contact area. In order to reduce the pressure applied by agricultural machines onto the soil, the vehicle mass and, therefore, weight, has to be reduced, or the tyre contact area on the soil has to be increased. Farmers can easily increase the tyre contact area, by decreasing the tyre inflation pressure or increasing the tyre width, i.e. mounting tyres having a larger section width, or Terra Tyres, or twin-tyres. Over the last 40 years: the mean power of mechanical four wheel drive (MFWD) tractors and four wheel drive (4WD) (isodiametric tyres) tractors increased, while that of two wheel drive (2WD) tractors remained constant; the power and the total weight increased, while the weight-power ratio decreased. Practically the reduction of the mean pressure on the soil resulted rather limited, meaning that tractor manufacturers have not bore in mind soil compaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract. The natural physical features and farmers' local knowledge in Sinarresmi indigenous village has uniquely set up an agricultural landscape. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the agricultural landscape is formed and its suitability to become a sustainable landscape. The data in this study were obtained from field observation and interviews with key informant and local farmers. Spatial analysis with Multi-Criteria Analysis (MCA) and cross-section line are used to capture the relationship between the terrain-shape and land use which constitute the pattern of the agricultural landscape in the study area. Northn of Vietnam is supposed to be natural conditions that are favorable for agricultural development. In this region, arable land is increasingly being narrowed by the industrialization process, but agriculture still has an important role in the region's economy and attracts more labor than other sectors. Through research for the current status of rice cultivation, collection and use of the harvest by-products (straw, thatch, rice husk), analyzing and evaluating the potential of biomass energy and environmental performance assessment in provinces in the North of Vietnam, these results were achieved: the medium value of total biomass (BM) for agricultural products after harvest in recent years across the North of Vietnam is 12097, 300 tons of rice cultivation. BM sources are mainly collected spontaneously and used for different household purposes such as cooking, animal feeding, and fertilizer ... There is neither plan for collection nor any research project to use them effectively regarding both economy and environment. If all of this BM is collected and used to generate electric power, that estimated value is about 5738 × 106 kWh/year. This will be significant to supplement traditional energy that now is not enough, while contributing to reduce environmental pollution, and make more income for farmers; calculating the energy from output, it was indicated that economic efficiency from BM will be higher than using coal as fuel for incinerators; If these products are used in ways of heat - electric furnace with fluidized bed combustion (FBC), that will be very active and effective in term of ensuring not only energy security but also reducing the demand for using fossil fuel sources, contributing to reduce environmental pollution (BM costs just 10 - 30% compared to coal, CO2 and SO2 emissions is less than using coal about 3 ÷ 6 and 18 ÷ 20 times, respectively). So that in its application it is needed the right pattern of technology dissemination so that people as users can receive it physically and psychologically and mentally (accepted). This study aims to examine the readiness of technology application in the mangosteen supply chain management using blockchain technology. The study considers different conditions both socially, environmentally, production capacity and products produced on the basis of mangosteen commodity. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach by collecting primary data from 5 mangosteen farmers, 1 collector and 1 quality controller of trader. The results show that the success of technology diffusion and adoption, especially blockchain technology, is greatly influenced by various factors such as: the pattern of dissemination from technology providers, business scale, technological suitability, readiness of the recipient or user of technology and market response. Due to its adaptability to different research circumstances, the Theory of Planned Behavior is a useful and commonly used theoretical frame for determining the level of development of an individual's environmental awareness. This paper presents the genesis of this theory, analyzes its individual constructs, explains the way in which these constructs are measured, and provides an overview of the research in which the theory is tested in terms of environmentaly responsible behavior of agricultural producers. Finally, this work draws conclusions on the advantages and disadvantages of the application of this theory in analyzing environmental awareness. Although the Theory of Planned Behavior is not a perfect theoretical frame for analyzing environmental awareness, it has certainly been one of the most commonly used theories so far. It is believed that most future analyses of environmental awareness and behavior, environmental decision-making, and application of agro-ecological practices by agricultural producers will rely on this theory. The objective of this project was to compare the results of creating hard apple cider with fresh and frozen wort. The study considered the percentage of alcohol, percentage of sugar, pH levels and temperature. There are several other factors that affect the characteristics of hard apple cider but for the purpose of this investigation, it was only considered those mentioned. For each of these variables, it was analyzed the variability between the two processes. The results of this investigation will be of great value to apple farmers as it can be another selling channel available to them. This discovery will mean that, in case of an overproduction of apples, farmers and apple cider producers can store the excess of wort on a fridge and use it later. The study considered for the percentage of alcohol the unit %alcohol and for the percentage of sugar %Brix. For both variables a refractometer was used. We also analyzed the pH levels with pH strips and a pH meter. In addition, for temperature a cooking thermometer was used. The process for creating the hard apple cider was as follows: first, the stems of the apples were removed. Then, the fruit was cleaned with running water. Later, a solution of drinking water and sodium metabisulfite was created to immerse the apples on it with the objective of eliminating any substance that will contaminate the wort. The process was continued by cutting the apples and blending them. Next, half of the wort was deposited on a fermentation tank of our own creation (for the process of fresh wort) and the other half on a recipient that will be stored in the freezer for a month (for the process of frozen wort). A 10L water bottle, a valve and an airlock were used to create the fermentation tank. Measurements of %Brix and pH levels were made each other day for a month. After a month, the substance from the fermentation tank was deposited on a glass recipient with a cork. This process was repeated for the frozen wort. Most of farmers in Indonesia using fertilizer, one of substantial fertilizer is NPK that contain of complex nutrient, there are nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. There are tendency for farmers using NPK based on quality products and speed of decomposition. Nowadays, market size for NPK fertilizer has been dramatically increase and it will impact on intensify of fertilizer use. The potential requirement in marketing does not balanced with consumer behavior analysis. Meanwhile, agricultural sector (include horticulture, floriculture, bio-pharmacy and plantation) have been wieldly increase of the farming system annualy. This research is study case which is analyzed local NPK fertilizer competitive advantage compared to imported NPK fertilizer through consumer point of view towards product quality in four districts in West Java province, i.e., West Bandung, Garut, Bogor and Cianjur District with target respondents are farmers who use NPK fertilizer. NPK fertilizer qualities are based on product attributes, which are; availability, nutrient content, price, basic ingredients, form of fertilizer, speed of decomposition, label, color, type, design and size of packaging. It was analyzed using sematic differential attitude models and multi attribute attitude snake diagram model. The evaluation ranking of consumers interests towards fertilizer attribute characteristics showed that consumer intention before deciding to buy or use a NPK fertilizer will consider nutrient content, speed of decomposition, form of fertilizer and availability of products. Consumer’s attitude towards all NPK fertilizer attribute quality illustrated that imported fertilizer is considered to be more positive than local fertilizer. Fertilizer companies or industries should be able to maintain their fertilizer production especially concerning nutrient content and availability of products through a better production which appropriate with consumer’s needs.
