This study was run with 303 male children aged 11-15 and registered to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Center for Children Working on the Streets. The data were collected through a questionnaire and evaluated by using SPSS 11.5 for Windows. The average age of children working on the streets was 13.18±1.51. According to body mass index, 63.7% of the children had normal body weight. Further, 97.0% of the children were living with their parents and while 85.1% was attending school, 0.7% had never been to school. The foremost work that these children were doing on the streets was sell bagels (47.5%). It was found that 58.4% had three meals a day, 76.6% skipped meals, and mostly lunch (43.5%). Not wanting to eat (49.6%) ranked the first among the reasons for skipping meals. The percentage of children who reported to smoke was 6.6%. As these children in their developmental ages are the individuals to shape the future of the society, their nutrition should be taken more seriously and they should have an adequate and balanced diet without skipping any meals.
