As an aerial base station, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has been considered as a promising technology to assist future wireless communications due to its flexible, swift and low cost features, where resource allocation is the basis for ensuring energy-efficient UAV-assisted networks. This paper formulates a joint optimization problem of user association, UAV trajectory design and power control to maximize the channel capacity among all ground users at a limited power level in a downlink transmission. To tackle the mixed-integer non-linear programming problem, this paper proposes a clustering-aided reinforcement learning approach consisting of three consecutive stages. Firstly, modified expectation-maximization unsupervised learning algorithm is investigated to cluster the ground users, which reduces the dimensions and hence, the association complexity is reduced as well. Then, Kuhn-Munkres algorithm is incorporated for user association, which associates a UAV with the ground users via matching to the cluster, and assigns the UAVs to the centroid of the matching cluster for pre-placement, with the aim of speeding up the convergence of the following deep reinforcement learning algorithm. Finally, a multi-agent twin delayed deep deterministic (MATD3) policy gradient is proposed to solve the non-convex sub-problem, which determines the transmit power and designs the fine-tuned trajectory of UAVs. By incorporating low-bias value estimation technique, the reward of the proposed MATD3 algorithm is improved. Simulation results have demonstrated that our proposed approach achieves higher reward as well as converging faster than existing reinforcement algorithms. This paper investigates the potential contribution that interconnectors can provide to efficiently support the security of interconnected power systems. The proposed modelling setup introduces a radical paradigm shift in the operation of the interconnectors and in their interactions with multiple markets. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first paper that models a simultaneous allocation of the interconnector capacity for the exchange of energy and of inertia-dependent primary frequency response. The benefits and impact of this new methodology are evaluated with typical market indicators (e.g., social welfare and interconnector revenues) under two different paradigms: a centralized approach where the interconnectors are operated to minimize the system operational cost and a market-based framework where the interconnectors are privately-owned assets with self-interested objectives. By modelling the interconnectors as “price-maker”, the proposed work quantifies the potential inefficiencies of market solutions while considering key elements such as capacity withdrawing. In this paper, we consider an energy efficient resource allocation technique for a hybrid time division multiple access (TDMA) - non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system. In such a hybrid system, the available time for transmission is divided into several sub-time slots, and a sub-time slot is allocated to serve a group of users (i.e., cluster). Furthermore, signals for the users in each cluster are transmitted based on the NOMA approach. With NOMA, multiple users can be served simultaneously through utilizing power domain multiplexing at transmitter and successive interference cancellation (SIC) at receiver. In this paper, to maximize the energy efficiency (EE), we jointly allocate both the available time slots and the available transmit power in the hybrid TDMA-NOMA system. In particular, we formulate an EE maximization (EE-Max) problem aiming to maximize the overall EE of the system with a per-user minimum rate and transmit power constraints. However, this joint optimization problem is non-convex in nature, and thus, cannot be solved directly. Therefore, we develop an iterative algorithm by approximating the original problem into a convex one with sequential convex approximation (SCA) and a novel second-order cone (SOC) approach. Simulation results demonstrate that the performance of the proposed hybrid TDMA-NOMA system with joint resource allocation outperforms the system with equal time allocation in terms of the overall EE. Simulation results further confirm that the proposed iterative approaches with SCA and SOC techniques converge within a few number of iterations while yielding the solution to the original non-convex problem. In concurrent spectrum sharing scenarios between radars and wireless communication systems, one strict approach to protect the radar from undesired interference is locating the base stations outside a guard (or exclusion) zone of the radar. As a result, users inside that zone experience bad communication coverage. This paper uses Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RISs) to improve the base station coverage of users in the radar exclusion zone. The paper shows, through analysis and simulation, that joint optimization of base station and RIS locations improves the probability of coverage in the exclusion zone over the shared spectrum without disturbing the radar operation. Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) technology is promising to enhance wireless communications services by providing smart radio environment. In this paper, we investigate the RIS aided cellular networks with device-to-device (D2D) users, and maximize the sum of the transmission rate of the D2D communications and the cellular networks from a new perspective. In addition to solving the typical resource allocation problems for D2D communications, this paper further optimize the wireless environment by adjusting the position and phase shift of the RIS. To solve this non-convex problem, we propose a novel decentralized double deep Q-network (D3QN) framework for the resource allocation at users and a centralized DDQN for RIS optimization at the base station (BS), which are verified to achieve the near-optimal performance with lower complexity and enhanced robustness. Simulation results illustrate that the proposed framework can achieve higher transmission rates compared to benchmarks, meanwhile meeting the quality of service (QoS) requirements at the BS and D2D users. Under future low-carbon scenarios, it will be crucial to boost the rapidity in the delivery of frequency response services, especially those provided by conventional generators. This paper proposes a novel framework for the scheduling of frequency response services that incentivizes a rapid response from different system assets, including conventional generators. Differently from other approaches which envisage a fixed delivery time for frequency response services, the proposed methodology implements time-varying delivery intervals, which coincide with the time of frequency nadir occurrence. A relevant set of linearized constraints is embedded in a typical power system scheduling model. Results indicate that the proposed methodology reduces the unnecessary overscheduling associated with traditional methodologies, leading to significant operational cost savings. In this paper, we consider unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with a visible light communication (VLC) access point and coordinated multipoint (CoMP) capability that allows users to connect to more than one UAV. UAVs can move in 3-dimensional (3D) at a constant acceleration, where a central server is responsible for synchronization and cooperation among UAVs. The effect of accelerated movement in UAV is necessary to be considered. Unlike most existing works, we examine the effects of variable speed on kinetics and radio resource allocations. For the proposed system model, we define two different time scales. In the frame, the acceleration of each UAV is specified, and in each slot, radio resources are allocated. Our goal is to formulate a multi-objective optimization problem where the total data rate is maximized, and the total communication power consumption is minimized simultaneously. To handle this multi-objective optimization, we first apply the scalarization method and then apply multi-agent deep deterministic policy gradient (MADDPG). In this paper, a reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs)-aided millimeter wave (mmWave) uplink (UL) rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA) system is investigated which targets to achieve better rate performance and enhanced coverage capability for multiple users. The considered UL RSMA model splits the rate for each user by dividing their message into multiple parts and hence exploits all the necessary degrees of freedom to achieve maximum capacity region and high user fairness. In particular, we focus on the sum-rate maximization for considered UL RSMA system subject to joint optimization of power allocation to the UL users and beamforming design, i.e., active receive beamforming at the base-station (BS) and passive beamforming at multiple RISs. To efficiently mitigate high inter-node interference in multi-user scenario, we first provided a low-complex user pairing scheme based on k-means clustering and then develop an effective low-cost alternating optimization framework to solve the joint optimization problem sub-optimally by decoupling the problem into different sub-problems of power allocation and beamforming design. Specifically, the sub-problems of power allocation and beamforming design are solved using successive convex approximation, Riemannian manifold and fractional programming techniques. Later, the unified solution based on block coordinate descent (BCD) algorithm is proposed. Extensive numerical simulations validate that the user-clustering effectively significantly improves the performance gain and the considered RSMA system outperforms the conventional multiple schemes in terms rate and user-fairness. This paper addresses the problem of minimising latency in computation offloading with digital twin (DT) wireless edge networks for industrial Internet-of-Things (IoT) environment via ultra-reliable and low latency communications (URLLC) links. The considered DT-aided edge networks provide a powerful computing framework to enable computation-intensive services, where the DT is used to model the computing capacity of edge servers and optimise the resource allocation of the entire system. The objective function is comprised of local processing latency, URLLC-based transmission latency and edge processing latency, subject to both communication and computation resources budgets. In this regard, the minimum latency is obtained by jointly optimising the transmit power, user association, offloading portions, the processing rate of users and edge servers. The formulated problem is highly complicated due to complex non-convex constraints and strong coupling variables. To deal with this computationally intractable problem, we propose an iterative algorithm which decomposes the original problem into three sub-problems and resolve this problem in the fashion of alternating optimisation approach combined with an inner convex approximation framework. The number of individuals and groups of users offloading independent and inter-related computational tasks to mobile edge computing (MEC) servers is rapidly increasing, thus overloading them and raising the risk of service interruptions. Hence, reactive service replication has been suggested to enable individuals and groups of users to access services from remote edge servers, thus guaranteeing system scalability. This paper proposes a task offloading and service replication scheme on local and remote MEC servers. The scheme minimizes the response time of all users while satisfying the delay requirements of user groups in traffic-heavy and multimedia-intense applications (e.g., online gaming, multimedia conferencing, augmenting reality). We formulate an integer linear problem that minimizes the average response time of all users while satisfying the time and time difference constraints of the user groups running the same applications. We then use linear relaxation programming using Lagrangian analysis and solve the problem using a numerical solver. In addition, we compare the optimal solution to distance-based and resource-based greedy approaches. The application of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) to multi-layer multicast video streaming is envisioned to address the explosively growing demand for capacity which is dominated mostly by multimedia content. In this paper, a joint power allocation and subgrouping scheme is developed to enhance the performance of NOMA-based multi-layer multicast systems. An optimization problem is formulated to maximize the overall sum multicast rate whilst satisfying the maximum transmission power and proportional rate constraints. Due to the complexity of the optimization problem, we first derive two power allocation techniques for the 2-layer case considering arbitrary subgrouping which are based on the iterative implementation and closed-form analysis, respectively. We then generalize the low-complexity closed-form solution for the general multi-layer case. This scheme successively allocates power to each layer stream while assuring that the minimum target rate and proportionality are guaranteed, particularly for the transmission rate of the high-priority base layer stream. A sub-optimal joint power allocation and subgrouping scheme is also designed by incorporating the power allocation scheme into the proposed iterative subgrouping techniques. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the power allocation and subgrouping schemes in enhancing the sum multicast rate performance. In addition, the proposed power allocation scheme ensures substantially higher rates for the base layer stream, which is crucial in robust delivery of standard quality video to all users. Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication has been designed to afford improvements in the traffic congestion and traffic accidents by directly exchanging information between nearby vehicles. However, V2V communication may have difficulty providing service reliability due to interference between V2V links and vehicle-to-cellular user equipment links. In this paper, we consider the transmit power control algorithm to minimize interference among cellular users and vehicles in the context of V2V communication underlaid uplink cellular networks. First, we formulate the problem, which is an NP-hard combinatorial optimization problem with linear constraints. Addressing this problem with traditional optimization methods is ineffective; therefore, we design and train a deep neural network to address this optimization problem. Computational complexity analyses and simulation results reveal that the proposed algorithm outperforms weighted minimum mean squared error (WMMSE), fixed transmit power, and Dinkelbach's methods, and achieves near-global optimum with lower computation complexity than the exhaustive search (ES). In this paper, we investigate a downlink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) transmission scheme for hybrid millimeter-wave (mmWave) system and study its user grouping and power allocation. In order to maximize the weighted sum-rate (WSR) of the system, we first propose a user grouping algorithm based on min-sum message passing (MSMP) strategy under the limited number of radio frequency (RF) chains. Then, with the zero-forcing (ZF) digital precoding, we propose a power allocation scheme for multiple-RF-chain NOMA (MRFC-NOMA) structure based on a non-convex transformation method, and design a low-complexity algorithm. Control- and user-plane separation (CUPS) and network slicing are two key technologies to support increasing network traffic and diverse wireless services. However, the benefit of CUPS in decoupling the network coverage and data service functions has not been fully utilized to facilitate network slicing. In this paper, we present a novel CUPS-based end-to-end (CUPS-E2E) network slicing scheme. First, the base stations (BS) are classified into control BSs (CBS) that provide control plane (CP) coverage and traffic BSs (TBS) that deliver user plane (UP) traffic. Next, upon CBSs and TBSs being virtualized, we define four typical end-to-end (E2E) network slices: one for CP coverage, one for high-throughput services, one for computation-intensive services, and the other for delay-sensitive services. The utilities of the four E2E network slices are defined based on their coverage, throughput, computing capability and delay requirements, respectively. Then, a deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG)-based algorithm is employed to maximize the long-term sum-utility of the four E2E network slices by jointly optimizing the allocation of communication and computing resources to the four network slices and the activation of virtual TBSs, while meeting the service requirements of all users. Simulation results show that our proposed CUPS-E2E network slicing scheme in conjunction with a DDPG-based sum-utility maximization algorithm can support the CP wide-coverage and massive access requirements as well as the UP high-throughput, computation-intensive and delay-sensitive services simultaneously, and outperforms the existing E2E network slicing schemes in terms of the sum-utility, coverage percentage, throughput and delay. In this paper, we investigate a fifth generation cellular vehicle-to-everything based platoon system and propose low-complexity dynamic manager selection and resource allocation algorithms in the finite block length regime, to meet the ultra reliable and low latency communication requirements of intra-platoon safety-related data transmission. A closed-form expression for the platoon manager index is derived, based on which a low-complexity dynamic platoon manager selection algorithm is proposed, enabling a significant communication performance enhancement over the conventional head vehicle platoon manager algorithm. This is also the first work to investigate the impact of finite block length on platoon communication. The optimal finite block length coding rate under automatic repeat request retransmission is obtained. A subchannel multiplexing criterion is proposed and closed-form expressions for the optimal transmission powers of the platoon manager and its subchannel multiplexing partner are derived. Based on the theoretical findings, a joint resource allocation and coding rate optimization algorithm is proposed, achieving a near-optimal performance in terms of groupcast latency with a significant complexity reduction over exhaustive search. With low-cost energy consumption, the reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) technique is a potential solution to the real-time data processing for intelligent transportation systems (ITSs). In this paper, an intelligent transmissive surface is introduced into the vehicular communications, enabling vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) signals to penetrate the intelligent RIS to access the base station (BS) on the opposite side of the vehicle. Considering that the vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication reuses the spectrum spanned for V2I link, we investigate the ergodic capacity optimization problem for the vehicle performing V2I communications with the assistance of RIS, while meeting the low-latency and high-reliability requirements of the V2V link. The RIS transmission coefficients and power allocation of vehicles are jointly optimized, for the management of the desired and undesired vehicular communication links. Moreover, the expression of optimal phase shifts is derived in a closed-form, which reveals that the performance gain brought by RIS is proportional to the number of intelligent elements, while inversely proportional to the distance from vehicle-to-BS, in a quadratic form. Moreover, in the case of discrete phase shifts, an intelligent algorithm is proposed for the beamforming design at RIS. Afterwards, with the objective to maximize the ergodic capacity of the V2I link, the optimal power allocation is also proposed. Simulation results confirm the accuracy of the proposed resource allocation strategy, and that the system performance in terms of the ergodic V2I capacity can be significantly improved by the RIS. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) can be deployed as flying base stations (BSs) to leverage the strength of line-of-sight connections and effectively support the coverage and throughput of wireless communication. This paper considers a multiuser communication system, in which a single-antenna UAV-BS serves a large number of ground users by employing non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). The max-min rate optimization problem is formulated under total power, total bandwidth, UAV altitude, and antenna beamwidth constraints. The objective of max-min rate optimization is non-convex in all optimization variables, i.e., UAV altitude, transmit antenna beamwidth, power allocation, and bandwidth allocation for multiple users. A path-following algorithm is proposed to solve the formulated problem. Next, orthogonal multiple access (OMA) and dirty paper coding (DPC)-based max-min rate optimization problems are formulated and respective path-following algorithms are developed to solve them. The numerical results show that NOMA outperforms OMA and achieves rates similar to those attained by DPC. In addition, a clear rate gain is observed by jointly optimizing all the parameters rather than optimizing a subset of parameters, which confirms the desirability of their joint optimization. This paper studies the optimization of mechanics and resource allocation in linear vibration energy harvesters operating under an overall size constraint. In such harvesters, the volume aspect ratio and the stroke direction should be carefully selected to maximize output power and power density. Further, because the proof mass and spring stroke must share the available size along the stroke direction, a mass-stroke design trade-off results; the trade-off is optimized here. The optimization further leads to a universal metric the enables the comparison of linear vibration energy harvesters designed to operate in a limited volume. Examination of this metric results in guidelines and best practices for selecting harvester dimensions and shape for a given volume constraint, all based on the dimensional harvester optimization for maximum size-constrained output power. This paper offers several key contributions. First, it provides an evaluation and optimization of the impact that volume shaping and volumetric resource allocation have on the output power of linear vibration energy harvesters. Second, it develops a “universal normalized surface” relating output power to dimensional harvester design. The surface expresses the performance limit of space-constrained linear vibration energy harvesters in terms of their output power density. This leads to universal guidelines for harvester design. Finally, benchmarking harvesters reported in the literature against the universal surface demonstrates that their output performances lie on or below the surface, despite large variations in their exogenous design variables such as vibration amplitude, frequency, volume etc. Thus, this paper offers an effective method to evaluate mechanical design and optimization in state-of-the-art linear vibration energy harvesters under volume constraints, a scenario suited for IoT applications. This paper proposes on-driving experience sharing algorithms at junctions in infrastructure-assisted vehicles-to-everything networks. For the purpose, a millimeter-wave (mmWave) technology is used because it provides multi-Gbps data rates which is helpful for handling users’ short stay times at junctions and spatial reuse due to high beam directionality which is helpful for interference-avoidance among densely deployed vehicles at junctions. To realize on-driving experience sharing, the proposed algorithms focus on joint resource allocation and scheduling for 3GPP-compliant multiple unicast vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications where the vehicles are group leaders (GLs) in 3GPP Mode 4(d). The resource allocation stands for the roadside unit (RSU) allocation to scheduled V2V GL links where RSU is essentially required for overcoming blockage by establishing two-hop relaying. Because vehicles stay for short times at junctions, this paper designs two algorithms without or with delay considerations. Without delay considerations, the joint optimization of RSU allocation and scheduling was originally formulated as mixed 0-1 non-convex optimization. However our proposed algorithm reformulates the problem into mixed 0-1 convex optimization, which is computationally easier to solve. With delay considerations, our proposed algorithm dynamically controls video contents frame rates for time-average on-driving video sharing quality maximization subject to delay constraints, inspired by Lyapunov optimization. Extensive simulation results demonstrate that our algorithms can significantly outperform in a variety of scenarios. The combination of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) is an efficient solution to significantly enhance the energy efficiency of the wireless communication system. In this paper, a downlink multi-cluster NOMA network is considered, where each cluster is supported by one IRS. This paper aims to minimize the transmit power by jointly optimizing the beamforming, the power allocation and the phase shift of each IRS. The formulated problem is non-convex and challenging to be solved due to the coupled variables, i.e., the beamforming vector, the power allocation coefficient and the phase shift matrix. To address this non-convex problem, an alternating optimization based algorithm is proposed. Specifically, the primal problem is divided into two subproblems for beamforming optimization and phase shifting feasiblity, where the two subproblems are solved iteratively. Moreover, to guarantee the feasibility of the beamforming optimization problem, an iterative algorithm is proposed to search the feasible initial points. To reduce the complexity, a simplified algorithm based on partial exhaustive search for this system model is also proposed. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed alternating algorithm can yield a better performance gain than the partial exhaustive search algorithm, NOMA with random IRS phase shift scheme and OMA-IRS scheme. This paper considers a cell-free massive multiple-input multiple-output network (cfm-MIMO) with a massive number of access points (APs) distributed across an area to deliver information to multiple users. Based on only local channel state information, conjugate beamforming is used under both proper and improper Gaussian signalings. To accomplish the mission of cfm-MIMO in providing fair service to all users, the problem of power allocation to maximize the geometric mean (GM) of users’ rates (GM-rate) is considered. A new scalable algorithm, which iterates linear-complex closed-form expressions and thus is practical regardless of the scale of the network, is developed for its solution. The problem of quality-of-service (QoS) aware network energy-efficiency is also addressed via maximizing the ratio of the GM-rate and the total power consumption, which is also addressed by iterating linear-complex closed-form expressions. Intensive simulations are provided to demonstrate the ability of the GM-rate based optimization to achieve multiple targets such as a uniform QoS, a good sum rate, and a fair power allocation to the APs. In this paper, we consider Internet of Things (IoT) based mobile edge computing (MEC) system. IoT devices are controlled by access points (APs), which do not have access to any licensed spectrum. This puts limitations on IoT devices’ offloading capability and hence effectively reduces the number of computed bits. Under such scenario, we consider spectrum sharing, where IoT networks get access to licensed spectrum by helping a primary network (owns licensed spectrum) in cooperative relaying. We aim to maximize sum of the primary network’s communication rate and IoT networks’ total number of computed bits by jointly optimizing relay selection, licensed spectrum allocation, local computation, and offloading sequence selection. Moreover, we consider important constraints, e.g., the guaranteed rate for the primary network, IoT devices’ available energy, and available licensed spectrum resource blocks (RBs). We observe that the optimization problem is combinatoric in nature, which becomes more complicated when IoT devices’ scheduling order comes into the formulation. From our analysis, we devise an optimal and computationally efficient algorithm. In the result section, we compare with relevant benchmark systems and show the efficacy of our proposed model. Aerial base stations (ABSs) are expected to be important supplementary components for the 5G-and-beyond communication systems to achieve global Internet of Everything. To fully exploit the advantages of the ABSs seamless connection, in this paper, we propose a high altitude platform (HAP) and low altitude platforms (LAPs) cooperated network architecture. Specifically, the HAP can extend the network coverage and LAPs can act as relays to improve the transmission performance for hot spots. In the considered network, we investigate the sum rate maximization problem by optimizing the downlink and the uplink transmissions, respectively. In the downlink, we adopt the orthogonal frequency division multiple access technique and take the basic rate requirement into account. In addition, we optimize the height of LAPs and the spectrum allocation between the HAP and LAPs, and between the LAP and users. Then, we decouple the downlink sum rate maximation problem as three subproblems. An alternating optimization framework is designed to deal with these non-convex optimization problems, where the height and spectrum allocation are tackled in turn. In the uplink, we adopt the non-orthogonal multiple access technique, and consider the decoding threshold of the successive interference cancellation technique. Afterward, we optimize the power allocation of each user, and the spectrum allocation between users and the LAP, and between LAPs and the HAP. Finally, simulation results show the effects of spectrum allocation, height optimization and power allocation on network performance, which verify that the proposed scheme can achieve higher sum rate on both downlink and uplink in comparison with the current works. In future wireless communication systems, intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) plays an important role since it is capable of dynamically reconfiguring the channel conditions. In this paper, we apply IRS to facilitate the communication of an uplink multiple-input multiple-output non-orthogonal multiple access system. The objective is to maximize the system energy-efficiency (EE), requiring a joint optimization of the active beamforming at the base station, passive beamforming at the IRS, and power allocation. An iterative method is proposed to solve the formulated multi-variable non-convex optimization problem. Moreover, a low-complexity user ordering method is provided. Numerical results verify the rapid convergence of the iterative optimization scheme and the effectiveness of the user ordering. In this paper, we present the computation-efficient resource allocation (RA) schemes for millimeter-wave mobile edge computing (mmWave-MEC) system with the aid of reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS), which is used to assist the uplink communication from the users to the base station (BS). By means of the theoretical analysis, the achievable rate and computation efficiency (CE) are derived. Then, the optimization problem for the CE maximization under the constraints of the minimum rate, maximum power consumption and local CPU frequency is formulated, where the joint design of the hybrid beamforming at the BS and the passive beamforming at the RIS as well as the local resource allocation of each user is carried out. An effective iterative algorithm based on the penalized inexact block coordinate descent (BCD) method is proposed to obtain the computation-efficient RA scheme. Next, a low-complexity suboptimal RA scheme based on the BCD method is proposed, and corresponding algorithm is presented. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes are effective, and high CE can be attained. Moreover, the second scheme can achieve the CE performance close to the first scheme but with lower complexity. Besides, it is effective to deploy the RIS scheme in mmWave-MEC system, which can strike a balance between the CE and energy consumption when compared to the conventional relay schemes. Plane spiral orbital angular momentum (PSOAM) mode-groups (MGs) and multiple-input multiple-output non-orthogonal multiple access (MIMO-NOMA) serve as two emerging techniques for achieving high spectral efficiency (SE) in the next-generation networks. In this paper, a PSOAM MGs based multi-user MIMO-NOMA system is studied, where the base station transmits data to users by utilizing the generated PSOAM beams. For such scenario, the interference between users in different PSOAM mode groups can be avoided, which leads to a significant performance enhancement. We aim to maximize the energy efficiency (EE) of the system subject to the constraints of the total transmission power and the minimum data rate. This designed optimization problem is non-convex owing to the interference among users, and hence is quite difficult to tackle directly. To solve this issue, we develop a dual layer resource allocation algorithm where the bisection method is exploited in the outer layer to obtain the optimal EE and a resource distributed iterative algorithm is exploited in the inner layer to optimize the transmit power. Besides, an alternative resource allocation algorithm with Deep Belief Networks (DBN) is proposed to cope with the requirement for low computational complexity. Simulation results verify the theoretical findings and demonstrate the proposed algorithms on the PSOAM MGs based MIMO-NOMA system can obtain a better performance comparing to the conventional MIMO-NOMA system in terms of EE. The optimal allocation of protective devices and switches in distribution systems concerns the analysis of conflicting attributes, such as capital investment, SAIDI, ENS, ECOST, MAIFI, among others. Regarding this multiattribute context, this paper proposes a multicriteria strategy to support decision-making. From this strategy, an assertive decision can be made under different scenarios when defining an appropriate solution to a real-world problem. A multiobjective optimization approach is applied to approximate an adequate set of potential solutions for allocating protective devices and switches. The capital investment and the SAIDI index are assumed as objective functions of the problem, and the well-known NSGA-II method is employed as the optimizer. Experiments are performed using the RBTS - Bus 4; the obtained trade-off solutions are evaluated in the previously stated attributes, and assisted decisions are made to illustrate the effect of considering different scenarios of preferences from the decision unit. The results highlight both the advantages of a multiobjective approach for allocating protective devices and the usefulness of a multicriteria strategy to aid assertive decision-making under different scenarios. This paper investigates the multi-part collaborative task offloading with multiple servers in mobile edge computing (MEC) systems by considering server overload and long-term system performance. Our goal is to achieve the optimal user experience within the range of the network operator’s affordable cost. To this end, we design a two-layer computation offloading framework based on the multi-part offloading mode and the collaborations among small cell base station (SBS) servers. Furthermore, a multi-object constrained optimization problem is formulated, which jointly optimizes user association, channel allocation, and multi-part collaborative task offloading. To solve this problem, we propose a Genetic and Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (GADDPG)-based computation offloading scheme, where the long-term system performance is considered. Numerical and simulation results demonstrate that the proposed GADDPG-based computation offloading scheme outperforms other methods in effectively solving the server overload and guarantees long-term system performances while ensuring the best user experience. The problem of maximizing secrecy rate of multiple-input multiple-output multiple-eavesdropper (MIMOME) channels with arbitrary numbers of antennas at each node is studied in this paper. First, the optimization problem corresponding to the secrecy capacity of the MIMOME channel is converted to an equivalent optimization based on Givens rotations and eigenvalue decomposition of the covariance matrix. In this new formulation, precoder is a rotation matrix which results in a positive semi-definite (PSD) covariance matrix by construction. This removes the PSD matrix constraint and makes the problem easier to tackle. Next, a Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno (BFGS)-based algorithm is developed to find the rotation and power allocation parameters. Further, the generalized singular value decomposition (GSVD)-based precoding is used to initialize this algorithm. The proposed rotation-BFGS method provides an efficient approach to find a near-optimal transmit strategy for the MIMOME channel and outperforms various state-of-the-art analytical and numerical methods. In particular, the rotation-BFGS precoding achieves higher secrecy rates than the celebrated GSVD precoding, with a reasonably higher computational complexity. Extensive numerical results elaborate on the effectiveness of the rotation-BFGS precoding. To accommodate the stringent requirements of massive connectivity and ultra-high throughput, both reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) have been perceived as the key techniques for future communication networks. In this paper, a versatile framework is conceived to boost transmit power efficiency for RIS-enabled multi-group NOMA networks in the presence of coordinated multi-point (CoMP) reception and imperfect successive interference cancellation (SIC). Particularly, a group-level SIC (GSIC) method is proposed to eliminate the decoded group’s interference together with the well-designed transceivers to mitigate the aggregated interference, including the intra-group interference, the residual interference caused by imperfect SIC, and the interference of NOMA users decoded later. According to the novel framework, a power minimization problem is formulated by collaboratively optimizing the transmit power and the phase shifts. To render the problem tractable, an alternating scheme is developed to optimize the transmit power and the phase shifts iteratively. Specifically, the transmit powers for the users in the same group are devised by a parallel iteration algorithm, whilst the phase shifts are optimized by a sequential rotation method. Mobile services are becoming more diverse, making them have different demands on communications, computing, and caching (3C) resources in mobile systems. Unlike the traditional work that considers only one type of service, this paper designs a unified framework to characterize the different kinds of services, and jointly optimizes the 3C resources of the base station (BS) and mobile devices to provide differentiated quality of service (QoS) for diverse services. In the proposed framework, we model the task required by the mobile device to be generated at the BS, the mobile device, or both of them, which means the requested tasks are served through different paths, consuming different bandwidth, computing and caching resources. Since diverse services have different QoS, we formulate a multi-objective programming (MOP) to optimize the allocation of the 3C resources for minimizing the total delay while maximizing the number of executed tasks requested by the mobile devices. We transform the MOP problem as a multi-objective Markov decision process (MO-MDP) and design a multi-objective proximal policy optimization (MO-PPO) algorithm to solve the MO-MDP. The proposed MO-PPO first trains two sub-policies separately for the two objectives, and then combines them to search for Pareto dominating solutions. By alternately perform the separate training and the combination, we can finally obtain a set of Pareto optimal solutions and the corresponding Pareto front. Simulation results show that the proposed MO-PPO outperforms traditional methods in finding a higher-quality set of Pareto optimal solutions and can more appropriately allocate 3C resources to different types of services. In this paper, we leverage reinforcement learning (RL) and cross-layer network coding (CLNC) for efficiently pre-fetching requested contents to the local caches and delivering these contents to requesting users in a downlink fog-radio access network (F-RAN) with device-to-device (D2D) communications. In the considered system, fog access points (F-APs) and cache-enabled D2D (CE-D2D) users are equipped with local caches that alleviate traffic burden at the fronthaul and facilitate rapid delivery of the users’ contents. To this end, the CLNC scheme optimizes the coding decisions, transmission rates, and power levels of both F-APs and CE-D2D users, and RL scheme optimizes caching strategy. A joint content placement and delivery problem is formulated as an optimization problem with a goal to maximize system sum-rate. The problem is an NP-hard problem. To efficiently solve it, we first develop an innovative decentralized CLNC coalition formation (CLNC-CF) switch algorithm to obtain a stable solution for the content delivery problem, where F-APs and CE-D2D users utilize CLNC resource allocation. By considering statistics of channel and users’ content request into account, we then develop a multi-agent RL algorithm for optimizing the content placement at both F-APs and CE-D2D users. Simulation results show that the proposed joint CLNC-CF-RL framework can effectively improve the sum-rate by up to 30%, 60%, and 150%, respectively, compared to: 1) an optimal uncoded algorithm, 2) a standard rate-aware-NC algorithm, and 3) a benchmark classical NC with network-layer optimization. From the fourth generation (4G) of cellular systems onward, wireless personal devices (WPDs) support multi-input multi-output (MIMO) communication. However, the impact of MIMO communication on the electromagnetic field (EMF) of WPD users has yet to be fully understood and analyzed at the system level. In this paper, we first provide a generic model for assessing the individual exposure dose of multi-antenna WPD users in a multi-user multi-carrier communication system. An optimization framework for minimizing this exposure dose is then developed based on our exposure model. This framework helps us to identify a new criterion, i.e., the ratio between the normalized exposure dose and the channel to noise ratio (CNR), as the main system level criterion for minimizing the individual exposure dose of multi-antenna WPD users. This criterion is further integrated in the design of two novel centralized resource allocation schemes that take advantage of the multiple antennas at the WPD to minimize the per-user exposure dose, when full or limited knowledge of each user channel is available. Our new schemes can significantly reduce the individual exposure dose of WPD users (by approximately 80%) in comparison with the most relevant existing resource allocation schemes. Our results also provide insights into the logarithmic relationship between the per-user exposure dose and the number of receive antennas (or the number of time slots), and how such a parameter can be exploited to further reduce the exposure and/or provide a higher SE while maintaining a low exposure dose. In the cooperative vehicle infrastructure system, the road side unit (RSU) equipped with a mobile edge computing (MEC) server and sensors could provide vehicle infrastructure cooperation services for vehicles, such as optimization and cooperative driving, enhanced visibility, and so on. In view of this, the MEC server needs to fuse the sensing information from sensors on the vehicles and RSU, respectively. In the case of bad channel conditions, uploading the raw sensing information from the vehicles results in high uplink transmission latency. To deal with it, the vehicles can process the information locally and just deliver the results to the RSU. However, due to the limited computing resources on the vehicles, the processing accuracy of the raw information on the vehicles is lower than that on the MEC server. Besides, processing locally leads to higher vehicle energy consumption. Thus, in this paper, we aim to jointly optimize execution latency, processing accuracy, and energy consumption of the MEC-based cooperative vehicle infrastructure system. Firstly, we design the terminal machine learning task model and the edge machine learning task model on the vehicle side and RSU side, respectively. Then, we formulate a long-term multi-objective optimization problem. Owing to the stochastic traffic and time-varying communication conditions, we reformulate it as a Markov decision process and propose a two-stage deep reinforcement learning-based offloading and resource allocation (TDORA) strategy to determine the task offloading and the transmit power of each vehicle. The dual-function radar communication (DFRC) is an essential technology in Internet of Vehicles (IoV). Consider that the road-side unit (RSU) employs the DFRC signals to sense the vehicles’ position state information (PSI), and communicates with the vehicles based on PSI. The objective of this paper is to minimize the maximum communication delay among all vehicles by considering the estimation accuracy constraint of the vehicles’ PSI and the transmit power constraint of RSU. By leveraging convex optimization theory, two iterative power allocation algorithms are proposed with different complexities and applicable scenarios. Simulation results indicate that the proposed power allocation algorithm converges and can significantly reduce the maximum transmit delay among vehicles compared with other schemes. Vehicular networks are envisioned to deliver data transmission services ubiquitously, especially in the upcoming autonomous driving era. Accordingly, the high data traffic load poses a heavy burden to the terrestrial network infrastructure. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) show enormous potential to assist vehicular networks in providing services. In a dense UAV-assisted vehicular network with a large number of users, spectrum sharing is leveraged for alleviating the spectrum scarcity. However, the increasing data traffic still leads to the UAV energy consumption problem. This paper considers a specific network scenario where a UAV transmits its cached content files to vehicular users over UAV-to-vehicle (U2V) links while vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) links reuse the U2V spectrum for safety-critical message exchanges. To improve the UAV's energy efficiency while guaranteeing users’ quality of service (QoS), we jointly optimize content placement, spectrum allocation, co-channel link pairing, and power control, which are the key factors affecting energy efficiency and QoS. The joint optimization problem is formulated as a mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) problem, which is solved by combining Hungarian and DDQN. We perform system performance evaluations, demonstrating that our approach can not only improve the UAV's energy efficiency while satisfying the users’ QoS requirements but also increase the timeliness of making decisions. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Base Station (BS) placement optimization is an essential operational task to improve the Quality of Service (QoS) in UAV-aided wireless cellular networks. The existing approaches are almost zeroth order methods, and the few first order methods mainly ignore the allocation fairness, computational efficiency, and backhaul constraints. In this paper, we formulate the UAV placement problem as a constrained optimization problem, with the objective of maximizing the fair coverage versus energy consumption while satisfying the backhaul constraints at different time nodes. To guarantee fair QoS allocation, we introduce a novel fairness index to ensure fair communication opportunity and the novel region coverage ratio to avoid excess QoS on covered spots. An accurate and efficient proximal stochastic gradient descent based alternating algorithm that iteratively executes two optimization steps is proposed to optimize the UAV locations, which enables the fast single point-based first order methods to solve the complex problems with constraints. Experiment results manifest that the proposed algorithm performs well both in synthetic data scenario and in real city scenario. Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) assisted emergency communication is an important technique for future B5G/6G scenario. The UAV is usually considered as a mobile relay to forward information from the macro base station (MBS) to the users in emergency area. In this paper, the MBS power allocation, the UAV service zone selection, and the user scheduling are jointly investigated to enhance the sum spectrum efficiency. We formulate the MBS power allocation and UAV service zone selection problem as an Markov Decision Process (MDP) in the delay ignored system (DIS) and propose a deep reinforcement learning (DRL) algorithm based on Q-learning and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN). Then the proposed DRL-based scheme is extended in time delay system (TDS) to estimate the current optimal action with the outdated channel information. We also formulate the user scheduling as a 0-1 optimization problem and solve it by dividing into sub-problems. To enhance the coverage and network capacity of the mmWave based 5 G new radio (NR), integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network is recently envisioned as one of the promising network architectures. In this paper, we propose resource allocation algorithms to increase the backhaul capacity of IAB network and evaluate the performance of IAB network through geometric analysis. First, we propose a centralized resource allocation (CRA) algorithm for the case that IAB donor is available to acquire entire channel state information (CSI) and traffic load information of each IAB node. However, in order to overcome the high propagation loss of mmWave band, a densification of IAB node is necessary, which may induce the high computational complexity and require tremendous amount of CSI feedback load for the CRA scheme. To address this challenge, we discuss the distributed resource allocation (DRA) framework which can be individually operated at the each IAB nodes. On the other hand, we investigate the IAB network to get the insights for the system design by applying geometric analysis. Taking the property of stochastic geometry and hybrid beamforming at mmWave band into account, we derive the tractable approximation of co-channel interference (CCI). This expression allows us to obtain the insights to avoid the effect of CCI. Inspired by the promising potentialof reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-based transmission, this paper investigates the RIS-aided vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication system with the social trust, where multiple vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) links share the spectrum with vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) links. Subject to the reliability constraint of V2V links, the sum V2I link capacity is maximized, through jointly optimizing the power allocation, RIS reflection coefficients and spectrum allocation. The formulated mix-integer and non-convex problem is effectively converted into three subproblems, which can be iteratively solved by our proposed three-stage joint resource allocation and RIS optimization (JRARO) algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, and that the RIS can significantly improve the quality of vehicular communications in terms of the sum V2I capacity. Energy-saving techniques are vital for the battery-powered sensor devices (SDs), which affect their lifetime. In this paper, we propose an air-and-ground cooperative wireless sensor network (AGWSN), wherein several UAVs are deployed as aerial access points (AAPs) to assist the terrestrial access point (TAP) for data collecting. The positions of the AAPs can be modified to approach the cell-edge SDs, therefore reducing the energy of the SDs expended in uploading data. To fully exploit the potential of the AGWSN, we formulate a joint AAP position optimization, channel allocation, and power control problem to minimize the total power consumption of all SDs subject to their decoding threshold. To solve the formulated problem, we first analyze the optimal user pairing rule in each cell and based on the rule propose a maximum-weighted-independent-set inspired algorithm for the AAP position optimization. Then, we remodel the channel allocation problem as an interference minimization problem and devise a K-CUT based algorithm to solve it. We further propose a low-complex iterative algorithm to obtain the optimal transmission power for each SD. The performance of the proposed algorithms is evaluated via theoretical analysis and numerical simulation. Simulation results indicate that if the intracell and intercell interference are not well coordinated, the superiorities of the AGWSN cannot be developed, and its performance is even worse than the traditional terrestrial network (TTN). Federated learning (FL) is a popular edge learning approach that utilizes local data and computing resources of network edge devices to train machine learning (ML) models while preserving users’ privacy. Nevertheless, performing efficient learning tasks on the devices and achieving longer battery life are primary challenges faced by federated learning. In this paper, we are the first to study the application of heterogeneous computing (HC) and wireless power transfer (WPT) to federated learning to address these challenges. Especially, we propose a heterogeneous computation and resource allocation framework based on a heterogeneous mobile architecture to achieve effective implementation of FL. To minimize the energy consumption of smart devices and maximize their harvesting energy simultaneously, we formulate an optimization problem featuring multidimensional control, which jointly considers time splitting for WPT, dataset size allocation, transmit power allocation and subcarrier assignment during communications, and processor frequency of processing units (central processing unit (CPU) and graphics processing unit (GPU)). However, the major obstacle is how to design a proper algorithm to solve this optimization problem efficiently. For this purpose, we decouple the optimization variables so as to achieve high efficiency in deriving its solution. Particularly, we first compute the optimal processor frequency and dataset size allocation via employing the Lagrangian dual method, followed by finding the closed-form solution to the optimal time splitting allocation, and finally attain the optimal subcarrier assignment as well as transmit power for transmissions through an iteration algorithm. To evaluate the performance of our proposed scheme, we set up four baseline schemes as comparison, and simulation results show that the proposed scheme converges quite fast and better enhance the energy efficiency of the wireless powered FL system compared with the baseline schemes. We consider a wireless network consisting of two adjacent cells, where the joint transmission (JT) coordinated multipoint (CoMP) is established to assist the user equipments (UEs) located at the edge of each cell. In addition, full-duplex (FD) cooperative non-orthogonal-multiple-access (C-NOMA) is invoked within each cell to improve the data rates of the UEs and to assist those at the cell edge. The UEs are categorized into two groups, namely, cell-center UEs ($CUs$) and cell-edge UEs ($EUs$). The $CUs$ are the UEs located around the center of each cell. Meanwhile, the $EUs$ are the UEs located at the edge of each cell, where the JT-CoMP is applied since they have less distinctive received power from two cells. In this paper, a framework to jointly optimize the power control and the UEs clustering of CoMP-assisted FD C-NOMA system is formulated as an optimization problem to maximize the network sum-rate while guaranteeing the required quality-of-service of UEs. The formulated problem is a non-convex mixed-integer non-linear program that cannot be solved in a straightforward manner. To tackle this issue, the formulated problem is decomposed into an inner power allocation problem and an outer UEs clustering problem. For the inner problem, a computational-efficient solution is obtained. Meanwhile, the outer problem is reformulated as a one-to-one three-sided matching game. Then, a low-complexity near-optimal clustering algorithm is proposed. The simulation results demonstrate that 1) the optimality of the power control solution; 2) the CoMP-assisted FD C-NOMA has a superior performance compared to CoMP-assisted half-duplex (HD) C-NOMA and CoMP NOMA schemes for moderate values of self-interference. Ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) is essential for future vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) networks to improve traffic safety and enhance driving experience. Due to the fast-varying channel caused by high mobility, guaranteeing latency and reliability performance of the V2V links is a tremendous challenge. In this paper, we propose a novel resource allocation framework to support ultra-reliable low-latency V2V communications. The proposed framework includes both large-scale and small-scale resource optimizations. The large-scale resource allocation is performed at the central base station based on large-scale channel information periodically collected from vehicles. On the other hand, the small-scale resource allocation is performed at the vehicles according to instantaneous channel and queuing information. We develop optimal solutions for both resource allocation problems. With the proposed optimal solutions, the latency performance at the occurrence of extreme events is enhanced by enabling spectrum sharing among the vehicles. This study focuses on the downlink (DL) transmission of massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) with the support of simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) system based on a power-splitting (PS) scheme. To reach the green design target in the concept of wireless communication networks, this paper maximizes the system’s energy efficiency (EE) using joint system-level optimization. First, the closed-form expressions of the harvested energy and achievable data rate are first derived. Then, we formulated the EE maximization problem by jointly optimizing user equipment (UE) pilot transmission time allocation, the received PS ratios, a base station (BS) transmit power allocation, and a number of BS antennas while considering the minimum data rate as user’s quality-of-service (QoS) requirement and the maximum BS power transmission constraint. However, the formulated EE maximization problem is non-convex and non-linear which is difficult to solve. Hence, we propose an efficient low-complex alternative optimization (LCAO) algorithm to solve the non-convex problem iteratively with an acceptable computational complexity level. Simulation results are provided to evaluate the derived closed-form expressions and validate the proposed LCAO algorithm’s efficiency. The optimality, convergence, and complexity of the LCAO algorithm are analytically investigated. Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and coordinated multi-point (CoMP) are two fundamental techniques considered for the fifth generation (5 G) of wireless communications. In this paper, a hybrid satellite-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) relay network (HSURN) is proposed where the UAV relays (URs) employ CoMP transmission to serve the terrestrial users (UEs). Furthermore, all UEs associated with the CoMP-URs form a single NOMA cluster. For this model, an optimization problem is formulated subject to the minimum quality of services (QoSs) requirements of the UEs, transmission power budgets and, successive interference cancellation (SIC), to select URs and allocate their transmission powers for the energy efficiency (EE) maximization. With this insight, first, a computationally efficient sub-optimal UR selection scheme is proposed. Then, the powers are allocated to the selected URs via the Lagrange multipliers optimization (LMO) method. Due to the non-convex nature of the considered problem, it is relatively difficult to be solved. Hence, a metaheuristic teaching-learning-based optimization (TLBO) algorithm is employed to achieve an efficient solution. Simulation results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed sub-optimal relay selection scheme and the TLBO-based power allocation method compared to the LMO conventional method. Besides, the obtained results also reveal that the CoMP-NOMA transmission in the proposed scenario significantly improves the spectral efficiency (SE) and outage probability (OP) of the system compared to non-comp NOMA transmission case. Cooperative Vehicle-Infrastructure System (CVIS) can provide innovative services for traffic management and enable trips to be safer, more coordinated, and smarter. In the CVIS, the vehicles upload crowd sensing data to the Vehicular Edge Computing (VEC) server for quick data fusion and informed decision-making. However, with the ever-increasing number of vehicles, the VEC server cannot undertake massive computation-intensive tasks due to the limited edge computing capabilities. In this paper, we propose a reverse offloading framework that can fully utilize the vehicular computation resource to relieve the burden of the VEC server and further reduce the system latency. Under the proposed offloading framework, the binary reverse offloading (BRO) and partial reverse offloading (PRO) strategies are designed for two types of tasks, i.e., non-partitioned tasks and partitioned tasks. We formulate the system latency minimization problem by optimizing reverse offloading decisions, and the communication and computation resources allocation. Due to the non-convex and existing variables coupling, the original problem is transformed into the equivalent weighted-sum optimization problem. Based on the alternative optimization, we decouple the weighted-sum optimization problems into the two subproblems, and the closed-form expressions of transmission power and computation frequency of vehicles and RSU are derived. Low complexity greedy based efficient searching (GES) algorithm and joint alternative optimization based bi-section searching (JAOBSS) algorithm are proposed for BRO and PRO strategies, respectively. The algorithm complexity and performance bounds are analyzed. Simulation results show that the proposed GES algorithm can achieve optimal performance with low complexity. Different from conventional reflecting-only metasurfaces, intelligent omni-surfaces (IOSs) are capable of reflecting and transmitting the received signals simultaneously. As such, users located at the both sides of IOSs can be served efficiently. In this paper, a novel IOS-enhanced aerial secure offloading system is proposed in the presence of multiple ground eavesdroppers. Specifically, the IOS is adopted to prevent information leakage, improve legitimate reception quality and expand the security deployment range of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). To maximize the secrecy energy efficiency (SEE) of the considered system, a non-convex resource allocation problem is formulated by allocating computing frequency, determining offloading strategy, controlling transmit power, designing phase shifts, and deploying UAV locations. The formulated problem is non-trivial and challenging to be solved directly due to the highly coupled variables. To tackle this issue, the alternating optimization technique is invoked to decouple the original one into five subproblems, and then the computing and communication settings are alternatively optimized using a low complexity iterative algorithm. Finally, simulation results demonstrate that: i) In terms of the SEE performance, our IOS-enhanced aerial secure offloading system significantly outperforms the benchmark schemes; ii) Compared with reflecting-only surfaces, IOSs can take full advantage of the flexible deployment ability of UAVs, such that their secure offloading space can be considerably expanded. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and Terahertz (THz) technology are envisioned to play paramount roles in next-generation wireless communications. In this paper, we present a novel secure UAV-assisted mobile relaying system operating at THz bands for data acquisition from multiple ground user equipments (UEs) towards a destination. We assume that the UAV-mounted relay may act, besides providing relaying services, as a potential eavesdropper called the untrusted UAV-relay (UUR). To safeguard end-to-end communications, we present a secure two-phase transmission strategy with cooperative jamming. Then, we devise an optimization framework in terms of a new measure $-$ secrecy energy efficiency (SEE), defined as the ratio of achievable average secrecy rate to average system power consumption, which enables us to obtain the best possible security level while taking UUR’s inherent flight power limitation into account. For the sake of quality of service fairness amongst all the UEs, we aim to maximize the minimum SEE (MSEE) performance via the joint design of key system parameters, including UUR’s trajectory and velocity, communication scheduling, and network power allocation. Since the formulated problem is a mixed-integer nonconvex optimization and computationally intractable, we decouple it into four subproblems and propose alternative algorithms to solve it efficiently via greedy/sequential block successive convex approximation and non-linear fractional programming techniques.
