The molecular and cellular organization of the primate cerebellum remains poorly characterized. We obtained single-cell spatial transcriptomic atlases of macaque, marmoset, and mouse cerebella and identified primate-specific cell subtypes, including Purkinje cells and molecular-layer interneurons, that show different expression of the glutamate ionotropic receptor Delta type subunit 2 (GRID2) gene. Distinct gene expression profiles were found in anterior, posterior, and vestibular regions in all species, whereas region-selective gene expression was predominantly observed in the granular layer of primates and in the Purkinje layer of mice. Gene expression gradients in the cerebellar cortex matched well with functional connectivity gradients revealed with awake functional magnetic resonance imaging, with more lobule-specific differences between primates and mice than between two primate species. These comprehensive atlases and comparative analyses provide the basis for understanding cerebellar evolution and function.

The dynamic mechanism of short range interactions between $u/d$ quarks remains an open and challenging problem. In order to reveal this quark dynamics, we perform a systematic analysis of $NN$, $D_{03}$, and $D_{30}$ systems in the (extended) chiral SU(3) constituent quark models. By comparing results calculated with different models and different parameter sets, the effects of one gluon exchange and vector meson exchange terms are carefully examined. The results indicate that the vector meson exchange interactions dominate the short range interactions between $u/d$ quarks, whereas the small residual one gluon exchange coupling strength is also allowed., Comment: 10 pages, 2 figures. In present work, we perform a coupled-channel analysis of $B^{(*)}_{(s)}\bar{B}^{(*)}_{(s)}$ systems with the one-boson-exchange potentials. We first study the $I(J^{PC})=1(1^{+-})$ $B\bar{B}^{*}/B^{*}\bar{B}^{*}$ system to describe the $Z_{b}(10610)$ and $Z_{b}(10650)$ particles as molecular states and determine the reasonable range of cutoff parameter $\Lambda$. Then, other $B^{(*)}_{(s)}\bar{B}^{(*)}_{(s)}$ combinations with different quantum numbers are systematically investigated. Some bound states and resonances appear in the isoscalar systems, while only several shallow bound states exist for isovector systems. Far away from the excited conventional $P-$wave bottomium, these predicted states can be easily identified as exotic particles both theoretically and experimentally. Moreover, the $\eta_b(nS)/\Upsilon(nS)$ plus light mesons are the excellent final states to search for the bound states, while the $B\bar B^*+h.c.$ and $B^* \bar B^*$ channels are suitable for the resonances. The Wilson coefficients of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory are subject to a series of positivity bounds. It has been shown that, while the positivity part of the UV partial wave unitarity leads to the Wilson coefficients living in a convex cone, further including the non-positivity part caps the cone from above. For the Higgs scattering, a capped positivity cone have been obtained using a simplified, linear unitarity conditions and without utilizing the full internal symmetries of the Higgs scattering. Here we further implement the stronger nonlinear unitarity conditions from the UV, which generically gives rise to better bounds. We show that, for the Higgs case in particular, while the nonlinear unitarity conditions per se do not enhance the bounds, the fuller use of the internal symmetries do shrink the capped positivity cone significantly., Comment: 20 pages, 4 figures, invited contribution to JUSTC

In the past decade, the additive manufacturing of Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Composites (FRPCs) has become an attractive research area. This can be attributed to the ease and versatility of manufacturing, wherein the design of final products takes less time and labor when compared with conventional composite manufacturing techniques. However, due to the inherited nature of the “layer-by-layer” additive manufacturing process, 3D-printed composites are highly susceptible to delamination failure. Continuous efforts are being made in the research community to develop critical techniques involving the optimization of significant printing parameters to enhance the fracture toughness of 3D-printed composite parts toward their structural reliability for different industrial applications. In this comprehensive review, we have discussed the latest developments in improving the mechanical properties and fracture toughness of 3D-printed FRPCs. A holistic review of the properties of low-melting-temperature polymers such as polylactic acid (PLA) and high-melting-temperature polymers like polyetheretherketone (PEEK) based 3D-printed composites is also presented. This paper further covers the effects of changing processing parameters on the fracture toughness of 3D-printed composite structures. These processing parameters comprise printing temperature, printing speed, layer thickness, nozzle geometries, etc., and other key factors influencing the fracture properties of printed parts, such as surface treatment, annealing, and porosity. This is followed by an insightful representation of current challenges, future perspectives, and potential solutions.

This paper investigates the impact of halloysite nanotube (HNT) content on mechanical and shape memory properties of additively manufactured polyurethane (PU)/HNT nanocomposites. The inclusion of 8 wt% HNTs increases their tensile strength by 30.4% when compared with that of virgin PU at 44.75 MPa. Furthermore, consistently significant increases in tensile modulus, compressive strength and modulus, as well as specific energy absorption are also manifested by 47.2%, 34.0%, 125% and 72.7% relative to neat PU at 2.29 GPa, 3.88 MPa, 0.28 GPa and 0.44 kJ/kg respectively. However, increasing HNT content reduces lateral strain due to the restricted mobility of polymeric chains, leading to a decrease in negative Poisson’s ratio (NPR). As such, shape recovery ratio and time of PU/HNT nanocomposites are reduced by 9 and 45% with the inclusion of 10 wt% HNTs despite an increasing shape fixity ratio up to 12% relative to those of neat PU.

Solid-state ionic thermoelectric generators have emerged as promising solutions for efficient harvesting of low-grade waste heat. However, the main challenge in achieving continuous power supply is the low efficiency of thermoelectric conversion. In this work, substantial achievements have been made in improving the thermoelectric conversion characteristics by introducing redox pairs on the electrode surfaces. This approach takes advantage of the synergistic effect of thermal diffusion and thermoelectric effects to maximize the conversion efficiency. To improve the thermoelectric storage and output power performance, Prussian blue was attached to a carbon woven fabric and used as an electrode. The incorporation of Prussian blue/carbon woven fabric electrodes results in an increase in current density output and an instantaneous power density of 3.7 mW/m2·K2. Furthermore, under a temperature gradient of 10 K, the output energy density for 2 h is 194 J/m2, and the Carnot relative efficiency is as high as 0.12% at a hot side temperature (TH) of 30 °C and a cold side temperature (TC) of 20 °C. Our findings validate the efficacy of integrating thermal diffusion and redox reactions in ionic thermoelectric generators, paving the way for the progress of thermocharged devices and their potential commercial applications. This review aimed to summarise the evidence on existing health management models and strategies for older adults with VI to improve health-related and vision-related quality of life (QoL) in older people.Methods: Based on the framework of the scoping review methodology of Arksey and O’Malley (2005), a comprehensive literature search of relevant literature published between January 2010 and June 2022 in PubMed, CINAHL, EMBASE, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, CNKI, VIP, Wanfang database, Sinomed and the grey literature.Results: Finally, 31 articles were included. The health management model had a multidisciplinary team low vision rehabilitation model, medical consortium two-way management model, low vision community comprehensive rehabilitation model, medical consortium-family contract service model, screening-referral-follow-up model, and three-level low vision care model. The health management strategy covers nine aspects, the combination of multi-element strategies is feasible, and network information technology has also shown positive results.Conclusion: In the future, under the Internet and hierarchical management model, we should provide demand-based personalized support to rationalize and scientifically achieve hierarchical management and improve resource utilization efficiency and eye health outcomes.Keywords: visual impairment, health management models, strategies, the elderly, scoping review

Comparative analysis is crucial in real-world data analysis, especially for multivariate data. However, efficiently comparing hierarchies and node attributes, spatiotemporal data, and data uncertainties in multivariate data remains a challenge in certain applications. This thesis addresses this gap by providing a comprehensive visual comparative analysis of multivariate data. It introduces four research approaches that propose innovative visual solutions to enhance the understanding and comparison of such data. The first approach focuses on balancing the comparison of hierarchies and node attributes. It introduces a novel visualization technique called PansyTree, which utilizes a tree metaphor and node merging. By representing merged nodes in the structure, PansyTree enables the merging of three datasets into a single tree. This facilitates the exploration and comparison of structures, nodes, and node attributes. The second approach, called +msRNAer, presents a portrait-based visual modeling method for comparing time series and multidimensional features in epidemiology. It represents time series and multidimensional features in a reduced-dimensional space, creating portraits that highlight similarities and differences. This approach has been tested on COVID-19-related datasets and has proven effective in identifying location-based patterns and relationships between COVID-19 cases and risk factors in census data. The third approach, User-centered Visual Explorer (UcVE), offers customizable views for exploring and comparing spatiotemporal and multidimensional features. UcVE aims to reduce the cognitive load of users by providing visualization, saving, and tracking capabilities for exploration results. With its user-friendly interface, UcVE allows users to switch between views and explore data at different levels of detail, making the analysis of complex spatiotemporal data more accessible and intuitive. In this paper, we establish a unified parameterized framework for analyzing the polarization modes of gravitational waves in the general metric theory (gravity is only described by the metric) and the general scalar-tensor theory (gravity is described by the metric and an additional scalar field). Specifically, we study the polarization modes of gravitational waves in the most general metric theory and general scalar-tensor theory that satisfy the following conditions: (1) Spacetime is four-dimensional; (2) The theory satisfies the principle of least action; (3) The theory is generally covariant; (4) The action describing a free particle is $\int ds$. We find that the polarization modes of gravitational waves in the theory satisfying the above conditions depends on the selection of parameters in the framework, and the theory allows for up to all six polarization modes. Once we have established our framework, the analysis of the polarization modes of gravitational waves in specific theories will depend on determining the corresponding parameters within our framework. In this paper, we study polarization modes of gravitational waves in generalized Proca theory in the homogeneous and isotropic Minkowski background. The results show that the polarizations of gravitational waves depend on the parameter space of this gravity theory and can be divided into quite rich cases by parameters. In some parameter space, it only allows two tensor modes, i.e., the $+$ and $\times$ modes. In some parameter space, besides tensor modes, it also allows one scalar mode, or two vector (vector-$x$ and vector-$y$) modes, or both one scalar mode and two vector modes. The scalar mode is a mixture mode of a breathing mode and a longitudinal mode, or just a pure breathing mode. Interestingly, it is found that the amplitude of the vector modes is related to the speed of the tensor modes. This allows us to give the upper bound of the amplitude of the vector modes by detecting the speed of the tensor modes. We compute the causality/positivity bounds on the Wilson coefficients of scalar-tensor effective field theories. Two-sided bounds are obtained by extracting IR information from UV physics via dispersion relations of scattering amplitudes, making use of the full crossing symmetry. The graviton $t$-channel pole is carefully treated in the numerical optimization, taking into account the constraints with fixed impact parameters. It is shown that the typical sizes of the Wilson coefficients can be estimated by simply inspecting the dispersion relations. We carve out sharp bounds on the leading coefficients, particularly, the scalar-Gauss-Bonnet couplings, and discuss how some bounds vary with the leading $(\partial\phi)^4$ coefficient and as well as phenomenological implications of the causality bounds., Comment: 76 pages, 15 figures; to appear in JHEP

The theoretical saturation and validation strategies were adopted to demonstrate the adequacy of qualitative data. A three-level coding procedure with constant comparisons was completed to analyze this qualitative data.Results: A total of 21 patients with chronic heart failure were recruited in this study. As a result of this study, 32 initial codes, 12 category codes, and four core categories were extracted, namely, seeking supports, rehabilitation exercise, exercise monitoring and information feedback. According to the internal behavioral logic, the conceptual model of home cardiac rehabilitation exercise adherence was finally formed. Median age was 27.5 years (range, 1.6– 52). With a median 6 (range 0.6– 10.0) years survivor follow-up, six patients developed AIHA (2 Evans syndrome included) at a median of 168 (range, 122– 264) days post-CBT for 8% cumulative incidence density 3 years. Its mortality was 50% and mainly associated with concomitant infections (CMV reactivation rate nearly 100%). The possible risk factors for developing AIHA are CMV reactivation, GvHD and HLA mismatch.Conclusion: AIHA is a clinically significant common complication in recipients post-CBT. Authentic Assessments are generally seen as alternate to traditional assessments though the scope of an authentic assessment is much larger than that of a traditional assessment. Authentic assessments help students in comprehending the subject matter and, if properly designed, can also ensure student workplace readiness. During the authentic assessment design, five most important aspects are considered and their incorporation is sought. These aspects include; the assessment objectives, the physical context of an assessment, the social context, the outcome of the assessment and the assessment criteria. Emergence of the Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) supported applications and the Large Language Model (LLM) tools has posed new challenges to the authentic assessment design. Student access to these new applications and tools has also changed the socio-technological realities of the Learning and Teaching (L&T) practices. Therefore, we need to reimagine both, the L&T practices and the design and execution of authentic assessments. Keeping the prevailing socio-technological context in perspective, this work in progress paper proposes extending the scope of authentic assessments. The aim is to use them for quelling the growing problem of plagiarism as plagiarism can be facilitated by the use of GAI and LLM tools. Instead of considering authentic assessments as merely ‘an alternate to the traditional examination’ or ‘a tool for evaluating student workplace readiness,’ we propose adding ‘GAI redundancy’ to the scope of authentic assessments. For incorporating GAI redundancy we propose using either the game-based learning environment or a simulation environment. These two environments can be used for generating ‘close to real life’ problem-solving scenarios while assessing student comprehension and workplace readiness. In this paper, the concept of incorporating core–shell structured units as secondary phases to toughen Al2O3 ceramics is proposed. Al2O3 composite ceramics toughened by B4C@TiB2 core–shell units are successfully synthesized using a combination of molten salt methodology and spark plasma sintering. The synthesis of B4C@TiB2 core–shell toughening units stems from the prior production of core–shell structural B4C@TiB2 powders, and this core–shell structure is effectively preserved within the Al2O3 matrix after sintering. The B4C@TiB2 core–shell toughening unit consists of a micron-sized B4C core enclosed by a shell approximately 500 nm in thickness, composed of numerous nanosized TiB2 grains. The regions surrounding these core–shell units exhibit distinct geometric structures and encompass multidimensional variations in phase composition, grain dimensions, and thermal expansion coefficients. Consequently, intricate stress distributions emerge, fostering the propagation of cracks in multiple dimensions. This behavior consumes a considerable amount of crack propagation energy, thereby enhancing the fracture toughness of the Al2O3 matrix. The resulting Al2O3 composite ceramics display relative density of 99.7%±0.2%, Vickers hardness of 21.5±0.8 GPa, and fracture toughness 6.92±0.22 MPa·m1/2.

The advent of additive manufacturing (AM) in Australian small and medium-sized enterprises offers the direct benefits of time-saving and labour cost-effectiveness for Australian manufacturing to be highly competitive in global markets. Australian local businesses can tailor their products to a diverse range of customers with a quicker lead time on the sophisticated design and development of products under good quality control in the whole advanced manufacturing process. This review outlines typical AM techniques used in Australian manufacturing, which consist of vat polymerisation (VP), environmentally friendly AM, and multi-material AM. In particular, a practical case study was also highlighted in the Australian jewellery industry to demonstrate how manufacturing style is integrated into their manufacturing processes for the purpose of reducing lead time and cost. Finally, major obstacles encountered in AM and future prospects were also addressed to be well positioned as a key player in the revolutionised Industry 4.0.

The evaluation criteria included total effective rate, incidence of adverse reactions, TESS scale, PANSS scale, BPRS scale, SANA scale, SAPS scale. Two researchers independently screened the literature, extracted data, and assessed the risk of bias of the included studies. The RevMan 5.4 software was used for meta-analysis, risk of bias (ROB) evaluation tool was used to evaluate the risk of bias of the studies, and the GRADE evaluation tool was used to evaluate the quality of evidence. The study was registered on PROSPERO, CRD42023416438.Results: A total of 38 RCTs involving 3143 patients were included in the meta-analysis. Vapor deposition technology can improve the surface wear resistance of titanium alloys, and prepare lightweight and corrosion-resistant self-lubricating spherical plain bearings made of titanium alloys. However, titanium alloys with hard films can be worn by soft self-lubricating fabrics. This paper focuses on the wear problem of TiN coating on the surfaces of self-lubricating spherical plain bearings based on titanium alloys. Ring-to-plate wear tests were carried out to study the tribological properties of TiN coating on TC4 titanium alloy against self-lubricating fabric under different working conditions (load: 500–2000 N and speed: 100–500 r/min), along with the investigation of the wear mechanism of TiN coating, and the evaluation of applicable working conditions of GE15 type self-lubricating spherical plain bearings through swing tests. The results have revealed that TiN coatings can maintain a certain friction distance without wear. Increasing friction speed and load can make TiN coatings more prone to wear. A thick transfer film can protect the TiN coating from wear. The main wear mechanism is attributed to fatigue wear induced by the repeated formation and peeling of transfer films. The GE15 bearing has achieved a self-lubricating fabric wear of approximately 0.04 mm when the swinging for 500 m (25,000 times) is under a specific condition of 27 kN and 0.2 Hz without damaging the inner ring of the bearing. The bearing is suitable for swing conditions with applied loads below 27 kN. This study provides a fundamental understanding of designing self-lubricating spherical plain bearings made of titanium alloys.

Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) belongs to a polyurethane family that possesses an elongation much higher than 300%, despite having low mechanical strength, which can be overcome by incorporating clay-based halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) as additives to manufacture TPU/HNT nanocomposites. This paper focuses on the co-influence of HNT content and 3D printing parameters on the mechanical properties of 3D printed TPU/HNT nanocomposites in terms of tensile properties, hardness, and abrasion resistance via fused deposition modelling (FDM). The optimum factor-level combination for different responses was determined with the aid of robust statistical Taguchi design of experiments (DoEs). Material characterisation was also carried out to evaluate the surface morphology, nanofiller dispersion, chemical structure, thermal stability, and phase behaviour corresponding to the DoE results obtained. It is evidently shown that HNT level and infill density play a significant role in impacting mechanical properties of 3D-printed TPU/HNT nanocomposites.

While in-memory learned indexes have shown promising performance as compared to B+-tree, most widely used databases in real applications still rely on disk-based operations. Based on our experiments, we observe that directly applying the existing learned indexes on disk suffers from several drawbacks and cannot outperform a standard B+-tree in most cases. Therefore, in this work we make the first attempt to show how the idea of learned index can benefit the on-disk index by proposing AULID, a fully on-disk updatable learned index that can achieve state-of-the-art performance across multiple workload types. The AULID approach combines the benefits from both traditional indexing techniques and the learned indexes to reduce the I/O cost, the main overhead under disk setting. Specifically, three aspects are taken into consideration in reducing I/O costs: (1) reduce the overhead in updating the index structure; (2) induce shorter paths from root to leaf node; (3) achieve better locality to minimize the number of block reads required to complete a scan. Five principles are proposed to guide the design of AULID which shows remarkable performance gains and meanwhile is easy to implement. Latest diffusion-based methods for many image restoration tasks outperform traditional models, but they encounter the long-time inference problem. To tackle it, this paper proposes a Wavelet-Based Diffusion Model (WaveDM). WaveDM learns the distribution of clean images in the wavelet domain conditioned on the wavelet spectrum of degraded images after wavelet transform, which is more time-saving in each step of sampling than modeling in the spatial domain. To ensure restoration performance, a unique training strategy is proposed where the low-frequency and high-frequency spectrums are learned using distinct modules. In addition, an Efficient Conditional Sampling (ECS) strategy is developed from experiments, which reduces the number of total sampling steps to around 5. Evaluations on twelve benchmark datasets including image raindrop removal, rain steaks removal, dehazing, defocus deblurring, demoir\'eing, and denoising demonstrate that WaveDM achieves state-of-the-art performance with the efficiency that is comparable to traditional one-pass methods and over 100$\times$ faster than existing image restoration methods using vanilla diffusion models., Comment: Accepted by TMM

The front-end is a critical component of English text-to-speech (TTS) systems, responsible for extracting linguistic features that are essential for a text-to-speech model to synthesize speech, such as prosodies and phonemes. The English TTS front-end typically consists of a text normalization (TN) module, a prosody word prosody phrase (PWPP) module, and a grapheme-to-phoneme (G2P) module. However, current research on the English TTS front-end focuses solely on individual modules, neglecting the interdependence between them and resulting in sub-optimal performance for each module. Therefore, this paper proposes a unified front-end framework that captures the dependencies among the English TTS front-end modules. Clinic testing plays a critical role in containing infectious diseases such as COVID-19. However, one of the key research questions in fighting such pandemics is how to optimize testing capacities across clinics. In particular, domain experts expect to know exactly how to adjust the features that may affect testing capacities, given that dynamics and uncertainty make this a highly challenging problem. Hence, as a tool to support both policymakers and clinicians, we collaborated with domain experts to build ClinicLens, an interactive visual analytics system for exploring and optimizing the testing capacities of clinics. ClinicLens houses a range of features based on an aggregated set of COVID-19 data. It comprises Back-end Engine and Front-end Visualization that take users through an iterative exploration chain of extracting, training, and predicting testing-sensitive features and visual representations. It also combines AI4VIS and visual analytics to demonstrate how a clinic might optimize its testing capacity given the impacts of a range of features. Three qualitative case studies along with feedback from subject-matter experts validate that ClinicLens is both a useful and effective tool for exploring the trends in COVID-19 and optimizing clinic testing capacities across regions. The visual modeling method enables flexible interactions with rich graphical depictions of data and supports the exploration of the complexities of epidemiological analysis. However, most epidemiology visualizations do not support the combined analysis of objective factors that might influence the transmission situation, resulting in a lack of quantitative and qualitative evidence. To address this issue, we have developed a portrait-based visual modeling method called +msRNAer. This method considers the spatiotemporal features of virus transmission patterns and the multidimensional features of objective risk factors in communities, enabling portrait-based exploration and comparison in epidemiological analysis. We applied +msRNAer to aggregate COVID-19-related datasets in New South Wales, Australia, which combined COVID-19 case number trends, geo-information, intervention events, and expert-supervised risk factors extracted from LGA-based censuses. We perfected the +msRNAer workflow with collaborative views and evaluated its feasibility, effectiveness, and usefulness through one user study and three subject-driven case studies. Positive feedback from experts indicates that +msRNAer provides a general understanding of analyzing comprehension that not only compares relationships between cases in time-varying and risk factors through portraits but also supports navigation in fundamental geographical, timeline, and other factor comparisons. By adopting interactions, experts discovered functional and practical implications for potential patterns of long-standing community factors against the vulnerability faced by the pandemic. Experts confirmed that +msRNAer is expected to deliver visual modeling benefits with spatiotemporal and multidimensional features in other epidemiological analysis scenarios.

The tRNA-derived small RNAs (tsRNAs) were reported to be associated with diabetes. However, the role of tsRNAs in diabetic wound healing is unclear. Our study was designed to explore the tsRNA expression profile and mine key potential tsRNAs and their mechanism in diabetic wounds.Methods: Skin tissues of patients with diabetic foot ulcers and healthy controls were subjected to small RNA sequencing. The role of candidate tsRNA was explored by loss- and gain-of-function experiments in HUVECs.Results: A total of 55 differentially expressed tsRNAs were identified, including 12 upregulated and 43 downregulated in the diabetes group compared with the control group. These tsRNAs were mainly concentrated in intercellular interactions and neural function regulation in GO terms and enriched in MAPK, insulin, FoxO, calcium, Ras, ErbB, Wnt, T cell receptor, and cGMP-PKG signaling pathways. tRF-Gly-CCC-039 expression was upregulated in vivo and in vitro in the diabetic model. High glucose disturbed endothelial function in HUVECs, and tRF-Gly-CCC-039 mimics further harmed HUVECs function, characterized by the suppression of proliferation, migration, tube formation, and the expression of Coll1a1, Coll4a2, and MMP9. Conversely, the tRF-Gly-CCC-039 inhibitor could attenuate high-glucose-induced endothelial injury to HUVECs.Conclusion: We investigated the tsRNAs

We adopt the quark pair creation model to investigate the light meson emissions of several charmonium-like states. The quark pair creation model is applied to the four-body systems, and we calculate the pion/kaon emissions of the $X(4700)$, $Z_c(4430)$, $Y(4230)$, $Y(4360)$, $Y(4390)$ and $Y(4660)$ within the compact tetraquark assumptions. It is found that the pion/kaon decay widths for the $X(4700)$ and $Z_c(4430)$ are relatively small, while the partial decay widths for the resonances $Y(4230)$, $Y(4360)$, $Y(4390)$ and $Y(4660)$ are significant. In this work, we propose to investigate the $d_{N\Omega}$ dibaryon production in the process $K^- p \rightarrow d_{N\Omega} \bar{\Xi}^0$ by utilizing the kaon beam with the typical momentum to be around 10 GeV, which may be available at COMPASS, OKA@U-70 and SPS@CERN. The cross sections for $K^- p \rightarrow d_{N\Omega} \bar{\Xi}^0$ are estimated and in particular, the magnitude of the cross sections are evaluated to be several hundreds nanobarn at $P_K=20$ GeV. Considering that $d_{N\Omega}$ dibaryon dominantly decay into $\Xi \Lambda$ and $\Xi \Sigma$, we also estimate the cross sections for $K^- p \to \Xi^0 \Lambda \bar{\Xi}^0$ and $K^- p \to \Xi^- \Sigma^+ \bar{\Xi}^0$, where the $d_{N\Omega}$ dibaryon can be observed in the invariant mass distributions of $\Xi^0 \Lambda$ and $\Xi^- \Sigma^+ $, respectively., Comment: 7 pages, 4 figures

Inspired by the recent observation of a new structure, $X(4014)$, in the process $\gamma\gamma\to \gamma\psi(2S)$, we evaluate the possibility of assigning $X(4014)$ as a $D^\ast \bar{D}^\ast$ molecular state with $I(J^{PC})=0(0^{++})$ by investigating the hidden charm decays of $X(4014)$. The partial widths of $J/\psi\omega$, $ \eta_{c}\eta$ and $\eta_{c}\eta^{\prime}$ channels are evaluated to be about $(0.41\sim 5.00)$, $(2.05\sim7.49)$ and $(0.11\sim0.51)\ \mathrm{MeV}$, respectively. In this work, we systematically investigate the mass spectra of fully-heavy hexaquarks within a constituent quark model by including the color Coulomb potential, linear confining potential, and spin-spin interactions. Our results show that all of the fully-heavy hexaquarks lie above the corresponding baryon-baryon thresholds, and thus no stable compact one exists. Most research in the field of indoor thermal environment control has been devoted to the search for an appropriate on/off temperature of air-conditioning while relatively ignoring the energy-saving effect of the transition period length after air-conditioning turned off. We proposed a control model for the alternate operation between natural ventilation and air-conditioning to measure the delay time of natural ventilation after air-conditioning turned off. We compared the energy consumption of two cooling modes (continuous cooling and alternative operation between natural ventilation and air-conditioning) in different thermal capacity buildings in China's hot summer and warm winter areas. Furthermore, we obtain the delay time of natural ventilation under different thermal capacity buildings. The results indicate that buildings with more thermal capacity have a greater delay time of natural ventilation. Alternative operation strategy can save at least 15% energy consumption compared with continuous air-conditioning cooling. The results are helpful to guide residents to adjust their use habits of air-conditioning according to the delay time of natural ventilation and to alleviate the pressure of air conditioning energy consumption in hot summer and warm winter areas in China.

The production of nanofibrous materials for soft tissue repair that resemble extracellular matrices (ECMs) is challenging. Electrospinning uniquely produces scaffolds resembling the ultrastructure of natural ECMs. Herein, electrospinning was used to fabricate Bombyx mori silk fibroin (SF) and SF/halloysite nanotube (HNT) composite scaffolds. Different HNT loadings were examined, but 1 wt% HNTs enhanced scaffold hydrophilicity and water uptake capacity without loss of mechanical strength. The inclusion of 1 wt% HNTs in SF scaffolds also increased the scaffold’s thermal stability without altering the molecular structure of the SF, as revealed by thermogravimetric analyses and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), respectively. SF/HNT 1 wt% composite scaffolds better supported the viability and spreading of 3T3 fibroblasts and the differentiation of C2C12 myoblasts into aligned myotubes. These scaffolds coated with decellularised ECM from 3T3 cells or primary human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs) supported the growth of primary human keratinocytes. However, SF/HNT 1 wt% composite scaffolds with HDF-derived ECM provided the best microenvironment, as on these, keratinocytes formed intact monolayers with an undifferentiated, basal cell phenotype. Our data indicate the merits of SF/HNT 1 wt% composite scaffolds for applications in soft tissue repair and the expansion of primary human keratinocytes for skin regeneration.

Code summarization with deep learning has been widely studied in recent years. Current deep learning models for code summarization generally follow the principle in neural machine translation and adopt the encoder-decoder framework, where the encoder learns the semantic representations from source code and the decoder transforms the learnt representations into human-readable text that describes the functionality of code snippets. Despite they achieve the new state-of-the-art performance, we notice that current models often either generate less fluent summaries, or fail to capture the core functionality, since they usually focus on a single type of code representations. As such we propose GypSum, a new deep learning model that learns hybrid representations using graph attention neural networks and a pre-trained programming and natural language model. We introduce particular edges related to the control flow of a code snippet into the abstract syntax tree for graph construction, and design two encoders to learn from the graph and the token sequence of source code, respectively. We modify the encoder-decoder sublayer in the Transformer's decoder to fuse the representations and propose a dual-copy mechanism to facilitate summary generation. To cater for the diverse experiment requirements at the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) with often limited human resources, Bluesky is chosen as the basis for our software framework, Mamba. In our attempt to address Bluesky's lack of integrated GUIs, command injection with feedback is chosen as the main way for the GUIs to cooperate with the CLI; a RPC service is provided, which also covers functionalities unsuitable for command injection, as well as pushing of status updates. In order to fully support high-frequency applications like fly scans, Bluesky's support for asynchronous control is being improved; to support high-throughput experiments, Mamba Data Worker (MDW) is being developed to cover the complexity in asynchronous online data processing for these experiments. To systematically simplify the specification of metadata, scan parameters and data-processing graphs for each type of experiments, an experiment parameter generator (EPG) will be developed; experiment-specific modules to automate preparation steps will also be made. Thermal experience and thermal exposure are important aspects of thermal adaptation. However, the dynamic effects on thermal adaptation of thermal experiences and thermal history are not well understood. Migrants' long-term thermal adaptation process when transferring from Hot Summer and Cold Winter (HSCW), Hot Summer and Warm Winter (HSWW), and Severe Cold (SC) to Cold regions in China were studied in a longitudinal climate chamber experiment. We conducted repeated tests and systematic evaluations of the physiological and psychological responses of migrants on the time scales of day, week, month, and season. The results show that the difference in thermal exposure level between migrants’ original and current residence needed to drive the development of cold adaptation is greater than that of heat adaptation. The thermal sensitivity and comfortable temperature of the migrants varied and were related to the origin and time of migration. The psychological adaptation dominated the thermal adaptation development in the southern migrants and the physiological adaptation dominated in the northern migrants. The results contribute to understanding the mechanisms of longer-term thermal adaptation and quantifying longer-term indoor thermal experience in future thermal adaptation models.

In this work, the strong decay behaviors of the $\lambda-$mode low-lying $\Xi_{b}$ and $\Xi_{b}^\prime$ baryons are investigated within the $^3P_0$ model. Our results suggest that all of the low-lying $\bar 3_F$ states $\Xi_b(2S)$, $\Xi_b(1P)$, and $\Xi_b(1D)$ have small decay widths of less than 20 MeV, and these states have good potentials to be observed in the $\Xi_b^\prime \pi$ and $\Xi_b^{\prime *} \pi$ invariant masses. Further, most of the $6_F$ multiplets are relatively narrow and may decay into the $\Xi_b \pi$, $\Xi_b^\prime \pi$, $\Xi_b^{\prime *} \pi$, and $\Lambda_b \bar K$ final states. Considering the masses and strong decay behaviors, we can assign the newly observed $\Xi_{b}(6100)$ resonance as the $\Xi_b(1P)$ state with $J^P=3/2^-$ and interpret the $\Xi_{b}(6227)$ structure as the $J^P=3/2^-$ $\Xi_b^\prime(1P)$ state with a proper mixing angle. In this paper, the polarization modes of gravitational waves in Horndeski gravity are studied under the Palatini formalism. After obtaining the linearized equation of perturbations in Minkowski background, we find that the polarization modes of gravitational waves depend on the selection of the theoretical parameters. The polarization modes can be divided into quite rich cases by parameters. In all cases of parameter selection, there are $+$ and $\times$ modes propagating at the speed of light but no vector modes. The only difference from general relativity is scalar modes, especially the scalar degrees of freedom can be 0, 1 or 2 in different cases. The appropriate parameter cases can be expected to be selected in the detection of gravitational wave polarization modes by Lisa, Taiji and TianQin in the future., Comment: 23 pages, 1 figure, 1 table

The recent discovery of ferromagnetism in two-dimensional van der Waals crystals has provoked a surge of interest in the exploration of fundamental spin interaction in reduced dimensions. However, existing material candidates have several limitations, notably lacking intrinsic room-temperature ferromagnetic order and air stability. Here, motivated by the anomalously high Curie temperature observed in bulk diluted magnetic oxides, we demonstrate room-temperature ferromagnetism in Co-doped graphene-like Zinc Oxide, a chemically stable layered material in air, down to single atom thickness. Through the magneto-optic Kerr effect, superconducting quantum interference device and X-ray magnetic circular dichroism measurements, we observe clear evidences of spontaneous magnetization in such exotic material systems at room temperature and above. Transmission electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy results explicitly exclude the existence of metallic Co or cobalt oxides clusters. X-ray characterizations reveal that the substitutional Co atoms form Co2+ states in the graphitic lattice of ZnO. By varying the Co doping level, we observe transitions between paramagnetic, ferromagnetic and less ordered phases due to the interplay between impurity-band-exchange and super-exchange interactions. Our discovery opens another path to 2D ferromagnetism at room temperature with the advantage of exceptional tunability and robustness.

While quinoidal moieties are considered as emerging platforms showing efficient charge transport and interesting open-shell diradical characteristics, whether these properties could be changed by extension to the conjugated polymer structure remains as a fundamental question. Here, we developed and characterized two conjugated polymers incorporating quinoids with different lengths, which have a stable close- and open-shell diradical character, respectively, namely, poly(quinoidal thiophene-thienylene vinylene) (PQuT-TV) and poly(quinoidal bithiophene-thienylene vinylene) (PQuBT-TV). A longer length of a quinoidal core led to enhanced diradical characteristics. Therefore, the longer core length of QuBT was favorable for the formation of an open-shell diradical structure in its monomer and in the quinoidal polymer. PQuBT-TV exhibited high spin characteristics observed by the strong ESR signal, a low band gap, and improved electrochemical stability. On the other hand, as QuT maintained a closed-shell quinoid structure, PQuT-TV exhibited high backbone coplanarity and strong intermolecular interaction, which was beneficial for charge transport and led to high hole mobility (up to 2.40 cm(2) V-1 s(-1)) in organic field-effect transistors. This work successfully demonstrated how the control of the closed/open-shell character of quinoidal building blocks changes charge transport and spin properties of quinoidal conjugated polymers via quinoid-aromatic interconversion.

In this paper, we adopt an extended relativized quark model to investigate the triply-heavy tetrquarks systematically. The mass spectra are obtained by solving the four-body relativized Hamiltonian including the Coulomb potential, confining potential, spin-spin interactions, and relativistic corrections. We find that all of the triply-heavy tetraquarks lie above the corresponding meson-meson thresholds, and thus no stable one exists. In particular, besides the spin-spin interactions, the Coulomb and confining potentials also contribute to the mass splittings in the $cb\bar c \bar q$ and $cb\bar b \bar q$ systems. Moreover, the whole mass spectra for triply heavy tetraquarks show quite similar patterns, which preserve the light flavor SU(3) symmetry and heavy quark symmetry well. Through the fall-apart mechanism, the triply-heavy tetraquarks may easily decay into the heavy quarkonium plus heavy-light mesons, which are good candidates for investigation in future experiments., Comment: 15 pages, 4 figures. As an important application form of immersive multimedia services, free-viewpoint video(FVV) enables users with great immersive experience by strong interaction. However, the computational complexity of virtual view synthesis algorithms poses a significant challenge to the real-time performance of an FVV system. Furthermore, the individuality of user interaction makes it difficult to serve multiple users simultaneously for a system with conventional architecture. In this paper, we novelly introduce a CNN-based view interpolation algorithm to synthesis dense virtual views in real time. Based on this, we also build an end-to-end live free-viewpoint system with a multi-user oriented streaming strategy. Our system can utilize a single edge server to serve multiple users at the same time without having to bring a large view synthesis load on the client side. We analyze the whole system and show that our approaches give the user a pleasant immersive experience, in terms of both visual quality and latency., Comment: 10 pages, 7 figures

One-class novelty detection is conducted to identify anomalous instances, with different distributions from the expected normal instances. In this paper, the Generative Adversarial Network based on the Encoder-Decoder-Encoder scheme (EDE-GAN) achieves state-of-the-art performance. The two factors bellow serve the above purpose: 1) The EDE-GAN calculates the distance between two latent vectors as the anomaly score, which is unlike the previous methods by utilizing the reconstruction error between images. 2) The model obtains best results when the batch size is set to 1. To illustrate their superiority, we design a new GAN architecture, and compare performances according to different batch sizes. Moreover, with experimentation leads to discovery, our result implies there is also evidence of just how beneficial constraint on the latent space are when engaging in model training. In an attempt to learn compact and fast models, we present a new technology, Progressive Knowledge Distillation with GANs (P-KDGAN), which connects two standard GANs through the designed distillation loss. Two-step progressive learning continuously augments the performance of student GANs with improved results over single-step approach.
