However, its function in macrophage polarization remains unclear.Methods: We performed in vivo and in vitro experiments to investigate the role of ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase L1 (UCHL1), a kind of DUBs, in macrophage differentiation by using UCHL1-deficiency mice.Results: We demonstrated that LPS stimulation induced UCHL1 expression in macrophages. The deficiency of UCHL1 expression decreased the expression of CD80 and CD86 but increased the expression of CD206. The expression of TNF-α, IL-6, iNOS, and IL-10 was downregulated, while that of Arg1, Ym1, and Fizz1 was upregulated in UCHL1 deficient macrophages. Moreover, we observed that UCHL1 promoted the degradation of p110α through autophagy, but paradoxically increased the activity of AKT, thereby promoting polarization of macrophages into pro-inflammatory states.Conclusion: In this study, we identified UCHL1 as a positive regulator of M1 macrophage polarization. Our findings may help in developing therapeutic interventions for the treatment of inflammatory diseases and pathogenic infections.Keywords: UCHL1, macrophages, AKT, p110α, autophagy

Metal halide perovskites with quasi-2D crystal structures have shown excellent electroluminescent properties due to the inherently confined charge diffusion and efficient radiative recombination. But quasi-2D perovskite films can exhibit complex phase characteristics that need to be tailored for achieving high-performance light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Here, we report a unique quasi-2D perovskite thin film structure featuring a 3D perovskite bottom sublayer underneath a mixed 2D-3D perovskite composite upper sublayer, as imaged by low-dose scanning transmission electron microscopy. We demonstrate that the incorporation of a potassium bromide additive can trigger the self-assembly of multiphase perovskite grains toward this bilayer microstructure, probably due to its ability to create heterogeneous nucleation templates for the crystallization of 3D perovskite grains on the precursor-substrate bottom interface. The external quantum efficiency of quasi-2D perovskite LEDs is significantly improved by this bilayer film microstructure. By probing the carrier dynamics using transient absorption spectroscopy, we attribute the LED performance enhancement to the accelerated carrier transfer and recombination across the bilayer film microstructure. © 2022 American Chemical Society.

Inverted perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have received widespread attention due to their facile fabrication and wide applications. However, their power conversion efficiency (PCE) is reported lower than that of regular PSCs because of the undesirable interfacial contact between perovskite and the hydrophobic hole transport layer (HTL). Here, an interface regulation strategy is proposed to overcome this limitation. A small molecule ([2-(9H-carbazol-9-yl) ethyl] phosphonic acid, abbreviated as 2P), composed of carbazole and phosphonic acid groups, is inserted between perovskite and HTL. Morphological characterization and theoretical calculation reveal that perovskite bonds stronger on 2P-modified HTL than on pristine HTL. The improved interfacial contact facilitates hole extraction and retards degradation. Upon the incorporation of 2P, inverted PSCs deliver a high PCE of over 22% with superior stability, keeping 84.6% of initial efficiency after 7200 h storage under an ambient atmosphere with a relative humidity of ≈30–40%. This strategy provides a simple and efficient way to boost the performance of inverted PSCs. © 2022 Wiley-VCH GmbH.

A new type of sandwiched nanosheets 3D MoS2/C@RGO is synthesized by supramolecular self-assembly methods, as a novel and excellence electrode material. The surface characterization techniques show that the sandwiched 3D MoS2/C@RGO possesses rich porosity and large specific area, which is convenient for electrolyte ion transportation and beneficial for the improved electrical conductivity. An outstanding specific capacitance of the prepared MoS2/C@RGO of 340.0 F/g at 1 A g−1 is achieved with an excellent cycle stability of 90% after 1000 cycles at the scanning rate of 40 mV/s. The sandwiched 3D MoS2/C@RGO is suggested to be an ideal candidate for supercapacitors.

Semantic 3D mapping can be used for many applications such as robot navigation and virtual interaction. In recent years, there has been great progress in semantic segmentation and geometric 3D mapping. However, it is still challenging to combine these two tasks for accurate and large-scale semantic mapping from images. In the paper, we propose an incremental and (near) real-time semantic mapping system. A 3D scrolling occupancy grid map is built to represent the world, which is memory and computationally efficient and bounded for large scale environments. We utilize the CNN segmentation as prior prediction and further optimize 3D grid labels through a novel CRF model. Superpixels are utilized to enforce smoothness and form robust P N high order potential. An efficient mean field inference is developed for the graph optimization. We evaluate our system on the KITTI dataset and improve the segmentation accuracy by 10% over existing systems., Comment: IROS 2017
