The sample of Solar system objects has dramatically increased over the last decade. The amount of measured properties (e.g., diameter, taxonomy, rotation period, thermal inertia) has grown even faster. However, this wealth of information is spread over a myriad of articles, under many different designations per object. We provide a solution to the identification of Solar system objects from any of their multiple names or designations. We also compile and rationalize their properties to provide an easy access to them. We aim to continuously update the database as new measurements become available. We built a Web Service, SsODNet, that offers four access points, each corresponding to an identified necessity in the community: name resolution (quaero), compilation of a large corpus of properties (datacloud), determination of the best estimate among compiled values (ssoCard), and statistical description of the population (ssoBFT). The SsODNet interfaces are fully operational and freely accessible to everyone. The name resolver quaero translates any of the ~5.3 million designations of objects into their current official designation. The datacloud compiles about 105 million parameters (osculating and proper elements, pair and family membership, diameter, albedo, mass, density, rotation period, spin coordinates, phase function parameters, colors, taxonomy, thermal inertia, and Yarkovsky drift) from over 3,000 articles (and growing). For each of the known asteroids and dwarf planets (~1.2 million), a ssoCard providing a single best-estimate for each parameter is available. The SsODNet service provides these resources in a fraction of second upon query. Finally, the large ssoBFT table compiles all the best-estimates in a single table for population-wide studies.

Background Infant mental health has emerged as a unique area of practice and research distinguished from child and youth sub-specialties by its advocacy for a relational practice framework with an emphasis on parents/caregivers being integral to assessment, treatment, and prevention initiatives. A diverse array of initiatives offered across a broad spectrum of delivery methods is available to clinicians. However, to date, a large-scale mapping of the research evidence regarding these interventions has yet to be completed to help inform clinician’s decisions regarding the best approaches for their clients. To address this knowledge gap, this study aimed to report on the landscape of research pertaining to mental health interventions for infants and preschoolers (0–5 years), and their families at risk for socio-emotional difficulties and negative developmental outcomes. Method A scoping review methodology was used to conduct a large-scale mapping of the intervention research pertaining to infants and preschoolers (0–5) at risk for socio-emotional difficulties. We searched MEDLINE, PsycINFO, EMBASE, Web of Science, The Cochrane Library, CINAHL, LILACS, ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health Source, World Cat, and ClinicalTrials.gov, from inception to December 31, 2012. We extracted information regarding publication date, geographical location, study design, level of risk, population, key intervention mechanism, and outcome measures. Results We identified 533 potential studies from 1233 title and abstracts after the first round of screening. Full text article review in the second round of screening resulted in a total of 162 included articles for the final analysis. Results indicated that over 50% of interventions evaluated were randomized controlled trials conducted in Westernized countries. Most studies could be subdivided by level of risk within a preventative public health framework including universal, selected, indicated, and direct treatment for children formally diagn

We develop a framework that allows a description of measurements in Hilbert spaces that are smaller than their natural representation. This description, which we call a "squashing model", consists of a squashing map that maps the input states of the measurement from the original Hilbert space to the smaller one, followed by a targeted prescribed measurement on the smaller Hilbert space. We study formal properties of smooth max-information, a generalization of von Neumann mutual information derived from the max-relative entropy. Recent work suggests that it is a useful quantity in one-shot channel coding, quantum rate distortion theory and the physics of quantum many-body systems. Max-information can be defined in multiple ways. We demonstrate that different smoothed definitions are essentially equivalent (up to logarithmic terms in the smoothing parameters). These equivalence relations allow us to derive new chain rules for the max-information in terms of min- and max-entropies, thus extending the smooth entropy formalism to mutual information., Comment: 15 pages

The subacute nephrotoxicity of more than 20 industrial solvents has been compared in female Sprague-Dawley rats. The animals were given 5 i.p. injections of the solvents per week for 2 weeks at doses ranging from 1/20 to 1/5 of the i.p. or oral LD50 and the urinary excretion of N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminidase, beta 2-microglobulin and albumin was determined. Under these experimental conditions, two solvents, cyclohexane and styrene, were found to cause some tubular injury as evidenced by a statistically significant increase of beta 2-microglobulinuria. At the same dose, styrene was more tubulotoxic than cyclohexane but the opposite was observed when the solvents were administered proportionally to their LD50. The increased beta 2-microglobulinuria caused by cyclohexane was both time- and dose-dependent. It was not accompanied by changes in the glomerular filtration rate and the renal plasma flow, but at the highest dose (1.5 g/kg) the renal concentrating ability was depressed. These renal tubular effects can most likely be ascribed to cyclohexanol, the main metabolite of cyclohexane. As cyclohexane is a widely used industrial solvent with a relatively high threshold limit value (TWA-TLV: 300 ppm) it might represent an underestimated risk for the renal function of exposed populations.
