- Abstract
The authors attempt to give a realistic appraisal of the future developments in wood adhesives. This is necessarily controversial. One thing is certain, however, wood is becoming scarce and gluing enables greater use to be made of what is available. Without glues there would be no plywood, chipboard or glulam. We believe that, in the future, glued components will be regularly used for windows, door-frames, floors and roof supports and that a knowledge of glues will be as essential to the industry as kilning or sawmill practice., The authors attempt to give a realistic appraisal of the future developments in wood adhesives.
