- Abstract
An increasing number of studies has shown that non-physician cardiovascular prevention assistants are effective to improve prevention of heart and circulation diseases. It is the purpose of the present curriculum cardiovascular prevention assistance of the German Cardiac Society (DGK) to introduce a high-quality standard of education in Germany. The curriculum includes the following points: 1) training course cardiovascular prevention assistance at a DGK-approved training institution, 2) proof of clinical practice in cardiovascular prevention under supervision of a responsible physician (at least 6 months, at least 75 documented consultations). If the requirements are fulfilled, candidates receive a certificate for the curriculum cardiovascular prevention assistance of the DGK.
