The objective of this paper is to present a MATLAB-based toolbox called CSA-T-TDS (acronym for Complete Stability Analysis Toolbox for Time-Delay Systems). By using this toolbox, one can easily find the whole stability delay-set for a linear system with commensurate delays. For a better understanding of the methodology at the origin of the software, the theoretical core of CSA-T-TDS (the frequency-sweeping approach together with the auxiliary characteristic function) is discussed. Then, this application of the toolbox will be demonstrated along with some numerical examples.

This paper deals with a real-time and optimal control of dynamic systems while also considers the constraints which these systems might be subject to. Main objective of this work is to propose a simple modification of the existing Model Predictive Control approach to better suit needs of computational resource-constrained real-time systems. An example using model of a mechanical system is presented and the performance of the proposed method is evaluated in a simulated environment.

For time-delay systems, the asymptotic behavior analysis of the critical imaginary roots w.r.t. the infinitely many critical delays is an open problem. In order to find a general solution, we will exploit the link between the asymptotic behavior of critical imaginary roots and the asymptotic behavior of frequency-sweeping curves, from a new analytic curve perspective. As a consequence, we will establish a frequency-sweeping framework with three main results: (1) A finer (regularity-singularity) classification for time-delay systems will be obtained. (2) The general invariance property will be proved and hence the asymptotic behavior of the critical imaginary roots w.r.t. the infinitely many critical delays can be adequately studied. (3) The complete stability problem can be fully solved. Moreover, the frequency-sweeping framework is extended to cover a broader class of time-delay systems. Finally, the geometric insights of frequency-sweeping curves are investigated. Consequently, some deeper properties on the asymptotic behavior of time-delay systems and the link to frequency-sweeping curves are found. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Automatic control plays important role in both industrial and commercial engineering applications. Many of these applications use predictive control strategies implemented on digital computers to control dynamic systems. This paper aims to present methods used to design predictive control with the knowledge of the controlled system's model.

Due to technological and economical reasons plants, manufacturing systems and networks are developed with an ever increasing complexity. Such high complexity systems are also called Large Scale Systems. The aim of this paper is to present a brief review of theory used to model specific class of distributed large scale systems. In second part of this paper also a practical example of modelling process and simulation of such system is presented.

Obtaining the Puiseux series of multiple imaginary (characteristic) roots (MIRs) is a fundamental issue in the stability analysis of time-delay systems. However, to the best of the authors' knowledge, this issue has not been fully investigated up to date. This note focuses on the Puiseux series expansion of MIRs of linear time-invariant systems including commensurate delays. For an MIR of any multiplicity, we propose an algorithm for defining the structure of the Puiseux series, as well as the explicit computation of the corresponding coefficients. A novel type of reduced complexity controller is proposed. It is the combination of model free control and event triggered control. The robustness of model free control, especially for badly known dynamics, is added to the event based scheme. The performances of the proposed method are illustrated in two motion controls, vehicular longitudinal control and quadrotor control. Comparisons with existing control schemes are also proposed.
