La dermatitis atópica (DA) moderada-grave tiene un impacto significativo en la vida de los pacientes, muchos de los cuales requieren tratamiento sistémico para controlar los síntomas (p. ej., prurito). Algunos tratamientos son usados fuera de indicación. Este estudio describió características sociodemográficas y clínicas, patrones de tratamiento, uso de recursos sanitarios (URS) y costes asociados en adultos con DA que iniciaron tratamiento sistémico o fototerapia en la práctica habitual.

Moderate–severe atopic dermatitis (AD) has a significant impact on patients’ lives, with many requiring systemic treatment to manage symptoms (e.g., pruritus). Several drugs are used off-label to treat AD. This study describes sociodemographic/clinical characteristics, treatment patterns, health resource use (HRU) and costs in adults with AD who initiated systemic treatment or phototherapy in routine practice.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with symptoms such as pruritus that can be a major burden for patients. Patient-reported outcomes (PRO) complement clinician-reported outcomes in AD. This systematic review aims to identify and describe patient-reported outcome measures (PROM) used in observational studies of AD over the last decade in Spain. Eighteen PROM were identified to measure 13 different PRO that assess multiple aspects of the disease, including symptoms and disease severity, impact on daily activities and on work productivity/functioning, psychosocial impact, patient empowerment, and health-related quality of life (HRQoL). HRQoL, symptoms (particularly pruritus), and anxiety/depression were the most frequently assessed PRO, and the Dermatology Quality of Life Index, the Visual Analogue Pruritus Scale, and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale were the most frequently used PROM, respectively. The growing number of observational studies on AD including PROM in Spain suggests that PRO are becoming increasingly important in the management of AD.

Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) is associated with gastroduodenal diseases. Virulence of clinical isolates is related to clinical outcome. Moreover, with microdiversity studies in clinical isolates from a single patient, but from a different origin (antrum or corpus), it is possible to demonstrate that there are simultaneous mixed infections.

La infección por Helicobacter pylorise asocia con gastritis. La variabilidad genética de las cepas tiene importancia clínica. Los estudios de microdiversidad en cepas aisladas de diferente sitio anatómico en un mismo paciente revelan la posibilidad de recuperar 2 o más cepas diferentes.

Objetivo:El objetivo del presente estudio ha sido analizar si tiotropio es una alternativa eficiente frente al bromuro de ipratropio y la terapia estándar, en el manejo de pacientes con enfermedad pulmonar obstructiva crónica (EPOC) en España.

La dermatitis atópica (DA) es una enfermedad cutánea inflamatoria crónica con síntomas tales como el prurito, que pueden causar una carga significativa en la vida del paciente. Los resultados percibidos por los pacientes (PRO) complementan a los resultados clínicos evaluados en la DA por los médicos. Esta revisión sistemática tiene como objetivo identificar y describir las medidas de los resultados percibidos por los pacientes (PROM) utilizadas en estudios observacionales de DA durante la última década en España. Se identificaron 18 PROM para medir 13 PRO diferentes que evalúan múltiples aspectos de la enfermedad, incluyendo los síntomas y la gravedad de la enfermedad, la interferencia con las actividades diarias, el impacto psicosocial y laboral, el empoderamiento del paciente y la calidad de vida relacionada con la salud (CVRS). La CVRS, los síntomas (principalmente el prurito) y la ansiedad/depresión fueron los PRO más evaluados, siendo el Dermatology Life Quality Index, la Escala Visual Analógica del prurito y la Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, las PROM más frecuentemente empleadas, respectivamente. El número creciente de estudios observacionales sobre DA que incluyen PROM en España sugiere un aumento de la importancia de los PRO en el manejo de la DA.

From a data base of 1724 patients (p) with MBC, we selected a group of 612 p (35.5%) treated with CT as only first-line treatment. CT was chosen in the basis of clinical criteria.There were 609 women (99.5%), with mean age of 50 years (range 24–89). Forty-eight percent had received adjuvant treatment after the local treatment of the primary (median of disease free survival until metastatic disease: 14 months em), range 0–180) and a 73%, (447 p) had suppressed ovarian function.Metastatic disease was present in an isolated organ in 48%. of p. Lymph-node involvement was present in 43% of p, skin in 39%, lung in 45% (34% nodular and 11% lymphangitic), bone in 28%, pleura in 18%, liver in 11%, brain in 2% and other organs in 2%.Overall response rate was 36.6% (13.4% CR and 23.2% PR). There were no changes (NC) in 21.7% and progressive disease (PD) in 41.7%. With a median follow-up for CR of 6m (2–192),65 p (79%) have relapsed. Median duration of CR was 20m (CI 95% 16–24). Most of relapsed patients received a second line treatment.After a median follow-up for survival of 14m (2–219),439 p (68.5%) have died. Median survival (and 95% CI) were 20m (18–22) for the whole series, 42m (29-53) for CR, 21m (17–25) for PR, 24m (19–29) for NC and 11m (9–13) for Po. There were statistically significant differences in survival between CR vs PR, CR vs NC, CR vs PD, PR vs PD andNC vs PD.In conclusionwe have observed long survival in selected patients who obtain CR after standard doses of CT.
