The advent of 6G brings unprecedented opportunities for connectivity and software applications. However, it also poses significant privacy challenges. In this article, we propose the integration of DevPrivOps, a privacy engineering approach, in 6G software development to address these challenges. DevPrivOps emphasizes continuous integration, delivery, and deployment while incorporating privacy concerns from the early stages of development. This article outlines the principles and components of DevPrivOps in the context of 6G, including privacy quantification and intelligent prediction of privacy breaches. By integrating privacy engineering in 6G software development, DevPrivOps aims to enhance the privacy level of software, prioritize privacy considerations, ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, promote transparency, optimize performance, and inform decision-making processes. The proposed methodology addresses gaps in previous DevPrivOps concepts and highlights the need for generic solutions that can quantify privacy in various software domains.

Introduction: The global prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MS) among people living with HIV/AIDS varies from 20% to 33%. Objective: to estimate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome and associated factors in a group of HIV-infected patients on antiretroviral therapy. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study with HIV-infected patients from a reference center in Bahia, Brazil. We evaluated clinical, socio-demographic and anthropometric data. MS was defined according to the guidelines of International Diabetes Federation. Results: We evaluated 152 patients with mean age of 47.3±11.6 years, 59.2% male. The main comorbidities detected were diabetes (3.3%) hypertriglyceridemia (9.3%) and metabolic syndrome (MS,38.2%). Patients with MS were predominantly women (55.2% vs 31.9%; p=0.005), older [52.1 (10.4) vs 44.3 (11.3); p<0.001], and had overweight (74.1% vs 23.4%; p<0.001). After multivariate analysis MS remained associated with age (OR = 1.076; 95% CI: 1.030 – 1.125), female sex (OR = 2.452; 95% CI: 1.114 – 5.374) and family history of hypertension (OR = 3.678; 95% CI: 1.431 – 9.395). Conclusion: Almost half of the HIV-infected patients in Bahia presents with MS which seems to be driven by classical risk factors.

The de novoasymmetric synthesis of all possible stereoisomers of two polyketide natural products, avocadyne, avocadene, and the saturated variant avocadane, is described. The stereodivergent synthesis of the 12 congeners is accomplished in 4–6 steps from an achiral acylpyruvate derivative, which, in turn, is prepared in five steps from commercially available materials. The approach uses, sequentially, a Noyori asymmetric reduction, a diastereoselective chelate- or directed reduction of a β-hydroxyketone, and an ester reduction to a primary alcohol.

The Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm has been one of the main contributors, in recent years, to the growth in the number of connected equipment. This fact has predominantly contributed to IoT being constrained by the 5th Generation Mobile Network (5G) progress and the promises this technology brings. However, this can be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it will benefit from those progresses, but on the other, it will also be impacted by any security risk associated with 5G. One of the more serious security problems associated with it is the new wave of virtualization and softwarizationof networks and analogous appliances, brought to light by paradigms such as Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC). Considering these predicaments, we propose a state-of-the-art Moving Target Defense (MTD) approach that defends Cloud-based Network Functions (CNFs) launched within MEC and NFV environments. Furthermore, our mechanism follows the famous Everything as a Service (XaaS) ideology, allowing any CNF provider to use this protection system, working agonistically. In the end, we created a Proof of Concept (PoC) of our proposed methodology, which we then used to conduct an extensive practical security analysis against the multiple phases of the Intrusion Kill Chain. Our final results have proven that our MTD as a Service (MTDaaS) approach can effectively delay and, in some cases, stop an attacker from achieving its objectives when trying to attack a CNF, even if the related vulnerability is a zero-day.
