Moire is quite a well‐known phenomenon that can be found in display panels when multiple layouts are overlapped with different pitches. To verify Moire, we applied a step‐wise simulation based on ray‐tracing methodology. First, the CSF contour map was calculated as a function of key design parameters such as the angle and pitch of the metal wire. Then, the sensitivity of Moire image was verified under process variation and viewing angle dependency. A slight change of process variation and viewing angle results in an abrupt change of Moire. CSF value can be increased up to 15 times even a small angle variation such as 0.1 degree

Pseudodiploöspora longispora(previously known as Diploöspora longispora) is a pathogenic fungus of Morchellamushrooms. The molecular mechanism underlying the infection of P. longisporain fruiting bodies remains unknown. In this study, three known peptaibols, alamethicin F-50, polysporin B, and septocylindrin B (1–3), and a new analogue, longisporin A (4), were detected and identified in the culture of P. longisporaand the fruiting bodies of M. sextelatainfected by P. longispora. The primary amino sequence of longisporin A is defined as Ac-Aib1-Pro2-Aib3-Ala4-Aib5-Aib6-Gln7-Aib8-Val9-Aib10-Glu11-Leu12-Aib13-Pro14-Val15-Aib16-Aib17-Gln18-Gln19-Phaol20. The peptaibols 1–4greatly suppressed the mycelial growth of M. sextelata. In addition, treatment with alamethicin F-50 produced damage on the cell wall and membrane of M. sextelata. Compounds 1–4also exhibited inhibitory activities against human pathogens including Aspergillus fumigatus, Candida albicans, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureusand vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus, and plant pathogen Verticillium dahlia. Herein, peptaibols are confirmed as virulence factors involved in the invasion of P. longisporaon Morchella, providing insights into the interaction between pathogenic P. longisporaand mushrooms.

Purpose: The authors examine the role of CEO political ideology in the credit rating process. Design/methodology/approach: This study adopts a quantitative method with panel data regressions using a sample of 5,211 observations from S&P 500 firms from 2001 to 2012. Findings: The authors find that firms run by Republican-leaning CEOs, who tend to have conservative political ideologies, enjoy more favorable credit ratings than firms run by Democratic-leaning CEOs. In addition, the association between CEO political ideology and credit ratings is more pronounced for firms with high operating uncertainty, low capital intensity, high growth potential, weak corporate governance and low financial reporting quality. Finally, the authors find that CEO political ideology affects a firm's cost of debt incremental to credit ratings, consistent with debt investors incorporating CEO political ideology in their pricing decisions. Research limitations/implications: Leveraging CEO political ideology, the authors document that credit rating agencies incorporate managerial conservatism in their credit rating decisions. This finding suggests that CEO political ideology serves as a meaningful signal for managerial conservatism. Practical implications: The study suggests that credit rating agencies incorporate CEO political ideology in their credit rating process. Other capital market participants such as auditors and retail investors can also use CEO political ideology as a proxy for managerial conservatism when evaluating firms. Social implications: The paper carries practical implications for practitioners, firm executives and regulators. The results on the association between CEO political ideology and credit ratings suggest that other financial institutions could also incorporate CEO political ideology in their evaluation in their evaluation of firms. For example, when evaluating audit risk and determining audit pricing, auditors may add CEO political ideology as a risk factor. For firms, especially those that have Democratic-leaning CEOs, the authors suggest that they could reduce the unfavorable effect of CEO political ideology on credit ratings by improving their corporate governance and financial reporting quality, as demonstrated in the cross-sectional analyses. Finally, this study shows that CEO political ideology, as measured by CEOs' political contributions, is closely related to a firm's credit ratings. This finding may inform regulators that greater transparency for CEOs' political contributions is needed as information on contributions could help capital market participants perform risk analyses for firms. Originality/value: Credit rating agencies release their research methodologies for determining corporate credit ratings and identify managerial conservatism as an important factor that affects their risk assessments. The extant literature, however, has not empirically investigated the relation between credit ratings and managerial conservatism, which, according to behavioral consistency theory, can be proxied by CEO political ideology. This study provides novel empirical evidence that identifies CEO political ideology as an important input factor in the credit rating process.

Interactions between gut microbiome and host immune system are fundamental to maintaining the intestinal mucosal barrier and homeostasis. At the host-gut microbiome interface, cell wall-derived molecules from gut commensal bacteria have been reported to play a pivotal role in training and remodeling host immune responses. In this article, we review gut bacterial cell wall-derived molecules with characterized chemical structures, including peptidoglycan and lipid-related molecules that impact host health and disease processes via regulating innate and adaptive immunity. Also, we aim to discuss the structures, immune responses, and underlying mechanisms of these immunogenic molecules. Based on current advances, we propose cell wall-derived components as important sources of medicinal agents for the treatment of infection and immune diseases.Graphical Abstract

Excessive infiltration of activated neutrophils is regarded as a predominant cause of tissue injury in neutrophilic inflammation. Although programmed cell death like apoptosis maintains the homeostasis of activated neutrophils, this process is disrupted by an abnormal inflammatory response. Unlike endogenous calreticulin exposed during apoptosis, exogenous calreticulin acts as an “aged” signal and initiates premature macrophage-mediated programmed cell removal (PrCR), which is independent of apoptosis. Here, we report a nano-mediated strategy to stimulate the precise clearance of activated neutrophils initiated with artificial aged signal and alleviated inflammation. Polymeric nanoparticles PC@PLGA were fabricated by cloaking poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) with a hybrid membrane derived from platelet-derived extracellular vesicles (PEVs, denoted by P) and the calreticulin-expressed membrane obtained from doxorubicin-treated cells (denoted by C). P-selectin in PEVs favors PC@PLGA to anchor activated neutrophils, while calreticulin mimics exogenous “aged” signal secreted by macrophages to trigger PrCR. We showed that PC@PLGA specifically targeted activated neutrophils and misled macrophages to recognize them as “aged” neutrophils and then initiated premature PrCR and prevented proinflammatory response and tissue damage in a mouse model of acute lung injury and severe acute pancreatitis. The collective findings indicate the efficiency of specific elimination of activated neutrophils with exogenous aged signal in improving inflammation therapy.

Dendritic cells (DCs) play an essential role in both the induction of the immune response and the maintenance of immune tolerance, with any malfunction of DCs potentially causing several diseases. While gene-based therapy for DC manipulation is a promising approach, it remains challenging due to the lack of efficient delivery systems for DC targeting. Herein, we describe a novel bacterial nanomedicine (BNM) system for pathogen recognition-mediated DCs-specific gene silencing and gene editing. BNMs contain components from bacterial outer membranes and achieve efficient DC targeting through the recognition of pathogen-associated molecular patterns by pattern recognition receptors on DCs. The targeting efficiency of BNMs is reduced in DCs lacking toll-like receptor 4, which is responsible for recognizing lipopolysaccharide, a major component of the bacterial outer membrane. As a proof-of-concept demonstration, we present gene-based therapy mediated by BNMs for enhancing antigen cross-presentation in DCs, which generates a remarkable antitumor effect.

The 7055 aluminium alloy cast tube was prepared by vacuum centrifugal casting technology. The radial and axial microstructure of the alloy was observed by optical microscope and electron probe. The results showed that the as-cast microstructure is uniform and fine equiaxed, and intermetallic compounds are distributed at grain boundaries. In addition, the circumferential grain size and the number of intermetallic compounds were larger than that in the axial direction. The grains are ellipsoidal and equiaxed. This is the result of directional heat conduction, solid solubility migration and redistribution of solute during the solidification process of centrifugal casting. After homogenisation, the grains tend to be spherical equiaxed crystals, which is the result of different degrees of recrystallisation in the circumferential and axial directions.

To clarify the factors affecting the fatigue failure mode of the rib-deck weld, the parameter λdefined by the ratio of the effective notch stress range (Δσ0) to the corresponding fatigue strength (ΔσR) is proposed to predict the failure mode. Three types of fatigue tests were reviewed to validate the proposed method. On this basis, finite element modeling and parametric analysis were conducted to investigate the effects of the loading mode, boundary condition, weld geometry and stress ratio on the potential failure mode. Finally, fatigue testing programs for generating objective failure modes were analyzed and suggested. Results show that the proposed method is feasible to predict the potential failure mode of the rib-deck weld under out-of-plane bending moment. The fatigue failure mode is considerably affected by the loading mode, boundary condition and stress ratio. In terms of the geometric parameters of the weld, only the weld leg length at deck plate (lw,d) and thickness of the deck plate (td) have a minor influence, while the other parameters possess no effect. Suggestions for the fatigue testing programs for generating the root-deck, toe-deck, root-weld and toe-rib failure modes are proposed, which is of valuable reference meaning for further experimental investigations.

In high‐resolution and wide‐viewing‐angle Microdisplay OLED(Micro‐OLED) with Color Filter (CF), the control of the color mixture between adjacent sub‐pixels is a method to reduce the color shift. With optic simulation, we analyze the dependency of the color mixture on design parameters of the pixel structure such as mainly pixel size, CF size, and CF location. Additionally, we propose the design methodology to minimize the angular color shift.

The purpose of this study is to examine the expression pattern of HOXA11 in human endometrium in response to circulating sex steroids. The results suggest that HOXA11 play an important role in endometrial proliferation, differentiation and receptivity.

Tumor cells undergoing immunogenic cell death (ICD) release immunogenic damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) to trigger a long-term protective antitumor response. ICD can be induced by certain pathogens, chemotherapeutics, and physical modalities. In this work, we demonstrate that a gaseous molecule, specifically nitric oxide (NO), can induce a potent ICD effect. NO exerts cytotoxic effects that are accompanied by the emission of DAMPs based on the endoplasmic reticulum stress and mitochondrial dysfunction pathways. Released DAMPs elicit immunological protection against a subsequent rechallenge of syngeneic tumor cells in immunocompetent mice. We prepare polynitrosated polyesters with high NO storage capacity through a facile polycondensation reaction followed by a postsynthetic modification. The polynitrosated polyesters-based NO nanogenerator (NanoNO) that enables efficient NO delivery and controlled NO release in tumors induces a sufficient ICD effect. In different immune-intact models of tumors, the NanoNO exhibits significant tumor growth suppression and increases the local dose of immunogenic signals and T cell infiltrations, ultimately prolonging survival. In addition, the NanoNO synergizes with the PD-1 blockade to prevent metastasis. We conclude not only that NO is a potent ICD inducer for cancer immunotherapy but also that it expands the range of ICD inducers into the field of gaseous molecules.

Keyword extraction by Term frequency‐Inverse document frequency (TF‐IDF) is used for text information retrieval and mining in many domains, such as news text, social contact text, and medical text. However, keyword extraction in special domains still needs to be improved and optimized, particularly in the scientific research field. The traditional TF‐IDF algorithm considers only the word frequency in documents, but not the domain characteristics. Therefore, we propose the Scientific research project TF‐IDF (SRP‐TF‐IDF) model, which combines TF‐IDF with a weight balance algorithm designed to recalculate candidate keywords. We have implemented the SRP‐TF‐IDF model and verified that our method has better precision, recall, and F1 score than the traditional TF‐IDF and TextRank methods. In addition, we investigated the parameter of our weight balance algorithm to find an optimal value for keyword extraction from scientific research projects.

The determination of the total amount of water pollutant emission in different regions is a difficult problem faced by managers and researchers. Previous studies mostly focused on operability and fairness with little attention paid to local water quality. In order to make total emission pollutant control (TEPC) truly serve the improvement of water quality, a water total emission pollutant allocation model was built based on water environmental carrying capacity (WECC) in this paper. This model was used to construct a water pollutant emission control allocation scheme for 28 cities in Henan Province, China. The results showed that the chemical oxygen demand (COD) reduction rates for these cities ranged from 16.8 to 38.6% and ammonia-nitrogen (NH3-N) reduction rates ranged from 5.7 to 43.5% in 2020, which were different from the previous targets for these cities without considering their current status of water quality. The largest COD reduction rates for different types of point sources (industrial, urban, and large-scale livestock sources) were 35.4%, 39.0%, and 38.0%, respectively, and the largest NH3-N reduction rates were 62.2%, 42.5%, and 43.5%, respectively. This study solves the problem of long-term disconnection between TEPC and water quality improvement in China. Hydrogen therapy shows great promise as a versatile treatment method for diseases associated with the overexpression of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS). However, developing an advanced hydrogen therapy platform that integrates controllable hydrogen release, efficient RONS elimination, and biodegradability remains a giant technical challenge. In this study, we demonstrate for the first time that the tungsten bronze phase H0.53WO3(HWO) is an exceptionally ideal hydrogen carrier, with salient features including temperature-dependent highly-reductive atomic hydrogen release and broad-spectrum RONS scavenging capability distinct from that of molecular hydrogen. Moreover, its unique pH-responsive biodegradability ensures post-therapeutic clearance at pathological sites. Treatment with HWO of diabetic wounds in an animal model indicates that the solid-state atomic H promotes vascular formation by activating M2-type macrophage polarization and anti-inflammatory cytokine production, resulting in acceleration of chronic wound healing. Our findings significantly expand the basic categories of hydrogen therapeutic materials and pave the way for investigating more physical forms of hydrogen species as efficient RONS scavengers for clinical disease treatment.Atomic hydrogen-containing HxWO3represents a novel broad-spectrum scavenger of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, with controllable atomic hydrogen release and pH-responsive biodegradability that effectively alleviates inflammation and accelerates diabetic wound healing.

A cascade reaction of cyclopropyl alcohols, DABSO (1,4-diazoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane-1,4-disulfinate), and N-(sulfonyl)acrylamides has been developed. This tandem process went through a cyclopropanol ring opening and Michael addition sequence. The γ-keto sulfinate generated from the reaction between cyclopropanol and DABSO serves as the nucleophilic reagent, and N-(sulfonyl)acrylamide is used as the Michael addition acceptor. By utilizing this strategy, multitudinous sulfone-bridged 1,7-dicarbonyl compounds that contain both a β-sulfonyl amide unit and γ-keto sulfone skeleton were conveniently synthesized.

The spleen emerges as a pivotal target for mRNA delivery, prompting a continual quest for specialized and efficient lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) designed to enhance spleen-selective transfection efficiency. Here we report imidazole-containing ionizable lipids (IMILs) that demonstrate a pronounced preference for mRNA delivery into the spleen with exceptional transfection efficiency. We optimized IMIL structures by constructing and screening a multidimensional IMIL library containing multiple heads, tails, and linkers to perform a structure–activity correlation analysis. Following high-throughput in vivoscreening, we identified A3B7C2 as a top-performing IMIL in spleen-specific mRNA delivery via the formulated LNPs, achieving a remarkable 98% proportion of splenic transfection. Moreover, A3B7C2-based LNPs are particularly potent in splenic dendritic cell transfection. Comparative analyses revealed that A3B7C2-based LNPs achieved a notable 2.8-fold and 12.9-fold increase in splenic mRNA transfection compared to SM102 and DLin-MC3-DMA lipid formulations, respectively. Additionally, our approach yielded an 18.3-fold enhancement in splenic mRNA expression compared to the SORT method without introducing additional anionic lipids. Collectively, these IMILs highlight promising avenues for further research in spleen-selective mRNA delivery. This work offers valuable insights for the swift discovery and rational design of ionizable lipid candidates tailored for spleen-selective transfection, thereby facilitating the application of mRNA therapeutics in spleen-related interventions.

Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) represent the forefront of mRNA delivery platforms, yet achieving precise delivery to specific cells remains a challenge. The current targeting strategies complicate the formulation and impede the regulatory approval process. Here, through a straightforward regulation of helper lipids within LNPs, we introduce an engineered LNP designed for targeted delivery of mRNA into hepatocytes for metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) treatment. The optimized LNP, supplied with POPC as the helper lipid, exhibits a 2.49-fold increase in mRNA transfection efficiency in hepatocytes compared to that of FDA-approved LNPs. CTP:phosphocholine cytidylyltransferase α mRNA is selected for delivery to hepatocytes through the optimized LNP system for self-calibration of phosphatidylcholine levels to prevent lipid droplet expansion in MAFLD. This strategy effectively regulates lipid homeostasis, while demonstrating proven biosafety. Our results present a mRNA therapy for MAFLD and open a new avenue for discovering potent lipids enabling mRNA delivery to specific cells.

AbstractWe examine the effect of audit quality on stock price delay and whether the effect differs between two groups of Chinese firms: state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and non-state-owned enterprises (NSOEs). Using a sample of 15,019 firm-year observations for Chinese listed firms over the period 2001–2011, we find that firms with Big 4 auditors are associated with less stock price delay and this negative association is weaker for SOEs than for NSOEs. Our findings suggest that high-quality auditors play an important role in the price formation process, in that there is less stock price delay, and this role varies across firms with different ownership structures. Additional analyses show that the audit quality of international Big 4 auditors is perceived to be different from that of domestic Big 4 auditors. The effect of the perceived audit quality on price delay is different for SOEs controlled by the central government compared to those controlled by the local governments. Our study contributes to extant research by focusing on the economic consequences of auditor choices and by emphasizing the importance of recognizing ownership type when conducting audit research.Data availabilityData used are from public sources identified in this paper.

Background:MicroRNAs (miRs) play a crucial role in inflammatory diseases, including periodontitis. Meanwhile, miRs act as biomarkers for predicting diabetes mellitus (DM). However, the regulatory mechanism of miR‐126 on development of periodontitis in patients with DM still remains unclear. Methods:Human gingival fibroblasts were cultured with low (5.5 mmol/L), medium (15 mmol/L), and high (25 mmol/L) glucose, respectively. Expressions of miR‐126, tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor associated factor (TRAF) 6, and related cytokines were analyzed by real‐time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). After transfection with miR‐126 mimic, PCR and western blot were performed to detect level of TRAF6, and luciferase reporter assay confirmed if TRAF6 is the direct target of miR‐126. Production of cytokines was measured using enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay. Results:Increased glucose significantly suppressed miR‐126 expression in human gingival fibroblasts (P<0.05). Also, high glucose increased TRAF6, interleukin (IL)‐6, TNF‐α, and chemical chemokine ligand (CCL) 2 levels, whereas it decreased IL‐10 level. MiR‐126 mimic significantly decreased TRAF6 mRNA and protein levels under high glucose (P<0.05). Also, miR‐126 directly targeted TRAF6 through binding to its 3′ untranslated region in human gingival fibroblasts. Overexpression of miR‐126 significantly abrogated high glucose–induced secretion of proinflammatory cytokines such as IL‐6, TNF‐α, and CCL2 and promoted production of IL‐10. Conclusion:These data suggest that miR‐126 inhibits inflammation of human gingival fibroblasts under high glucose through targeting TRAF6, which may be a potential therapeutic target for periodontitis concomitant with DM.

To profile the liver cancer specific long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks of Hepatitis B virus (HBV)-associated hepatocarcinogensis (HCG) and to examine the effect of compound K on the expression of identified ceRNA networks.

Sixty-three amide alkaloids, including three new, piperflaviflorine A (1), piperflaviflorine B (2), and sarmentamide D (4), and two previously synthesized ones, (1 E,3S)-1-cinnamoyl-3-hydroxypyrrolidine (3) and N-[7'-(4'-methoxyphenyl)ethyl]-2-methoxybenzamide (5), were isolated from the aerial parts of Piper flaviflorum and Piper sarmentosum. Their structures were elucidated by detailed spectroscopic analysis and, in case of 3, by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Most of the isolates were tested for their antifungal and antibacterial activities. Ten amides (6-15) showed antifungal activity against Cryptococcus neoformans ATCC 90113 with IC50 values in the range between 4.7 and 20.0 µg/mL. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cloud computing emerges as a new computing pattern that can provide elastic services for any users around the world. It provides good chances to solve large scale scientific problems with fewer efforts. Application deployment remains an important issue in clouds. Appropriate scheduling mechanisms can shorten the total completion time of an application and therefore improve the quality of service (QoS) for cloud users. Unlike current scheduling algorithms which mostly focus on single task allocation, we propose a deadline based scheduling approach for data-intensive applications in clouds. It does not simply consider the total completion time of an application as the sum of all its subtasks' completion time. Not only the computation capacity of virtual machine (VM) is considered, but also the communication delay and data access latencies are taken into account. Simulations show that our proposed approach has a decided advantage over the two other algorithms.

The wide color‐gamut TFT‐LCD is easy to appear green mura after illuminated by various lights, and seriously affect the visual result of TFT‐LCD. By studying the electrical‐optical properties of color resin, the results show that Phthalocyanine type of G pigment in green color resin is the main factor of green mura, and the mura degree is strongly associated with the content of the G pigment. Such pigment has conjugated structure and semiconductor property. Electron migration in light state leads to the increase of dielectric loss factor and the influence of the coupling electric field of TFT‐LCD, which leads to the different brightness of RGB pixel, and forms the green mura. High sensitivity photo‐initiator in color resin can improve green mura of TFT‐LCD, but the degree of improvement is very limited. The novel pigment G can reduce the proportion of G to Y in green resin and show the best green mura result. Through mechanism analysis and experimental verification of the green mura of TFT‐LCD, the component management standard of color resin material is established, and the evaluation system of the green mura of TFT‐LCD is also set up.

A pair of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) of JXNU-15 (formulated as [Co6(μ3-OH)6(BTB)2(BPY)3]n, BTB3–= benzene-1,3,5-tribenzoate and BPY = 4,4′-bipyridine) and its fluorinated JXNU-15(F) ([Co6(μ3-OH)6(SFBTB)2(BPY)3]n) based on the fluorous 1,3,5-tri(3,5-bifluoro-4-carboxyphenyl)benzene (SFBTB3–) ligands were presented. The detailed comparisons of the acetylene/carbon dioxide (C2H2/CO2) separation abilities between the isostructural JXNU-15(F) and JXNU-15 were presented. In comparison with the parent JXNU-15, the higher C2H2uptake, larger adsorption selectivity of the C2H2/CO2(50/50) mixture, and enhanced C2H2/CO2separation performance endow JXNU-15(F) with highly efficient C2H2/CO2separation performance, which is demonstrated by singe-component gas adsorptions and dynamic gas mixture breakthrough experiments. The fluorine substituents exert the crucial effects on the enhanced C2H2/CO2separation ability of JXNU-15(F) and play the dominant role in the C2H2-framework interactions, as uncovered by computational simulations. This work illustrates a powerful fluorine substitution strategy for boosting C2H2/CO2separation ability for MOFs.

NdFeB waste is an essential rare earth (RE) resource, which is the unique solid waste to realize large-scale RE recovery via HCl preferential dissolution method. However, the challenges of low oxidation efficiency and high acid consumption are seriously hindering RE efficient recovery. Herein, the mechanism between the phase structure transformation of roasting RE solid waste and RE elements' leaching behavior was first explored. The results showed the oxidation efficiency of NdFeB oil sludge (NOS) was improved from 2.5 % to 99.2 % with the temperature increasing. And a leaching model was proposed: Dense Layer Structure (≤400 ℃), Loose Layer Structure (400–600 ℃), and RE Insoluble Structure (≥600 ℃). The analysis of the leaching model indicates the dense oxide layer and the RE insoluble structure (RE insoluble NdFeO3phase and particle adhesion) will affect the leaching efficiency of RE elements. Based on the oxidation efficiency, XPS, SEM, Raman, FTIR, and EDS-mapping analysis, an external oxide layer was verified on the microparticle of roasted NOS. Furthermore, the corresponding mechanism is discussed, and the improvement strategies are put forward. This study will supply a new insight into the theoretical basis for efficient and low HCl consumption recycling of NdFeB waste.

In this paper, a novel physical layer key generation method for extracting secret key from mutual channel information in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems has been proposed. Firstly, a well-designed data extraction process has been introduced to reduce the redundancy and inconsistency of channel state information (CSI). After that, a new quantization method using gray code is proposed. Furthermore, an associated method is designed to reduce key error rate (KER). With these improvements, higher key generation rate (KGR) can be obtained compared to existing methods. Finally, available secret keys have been generated after information reconciliation and privacy amplification. The proposed method has been analyzed and verified in long term evolution advanced (LTE-A) systems and the generated secret keys have passed randomness test.

Aims:To investigate clinical values associated with the “left ventricular (LV) trabeculation phenotype” that did not meet the diagnostic criteria of LV noncompaction (LVNC) in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).Hypothesis:The presence of left ventricular trabeculation phenotype was associated with a poor prognosis in HCM patients. Genetic factors contributed to this particular phenotype.Methods:A total of 940 HCM patients were recruited. The primary endpoint was cardiovascular death; the secondary endpoints were sudden cardiac death (SCD) and all-cause death. The LV trabeculation phenotype was assessed by cardiac magnetic resonance. Baseline and survival analyses regarding the LV trabeculation phenotype were conducted in general HCM patients and obstructive subset. A combination model was constructed by adding the LV trabeculation phenotype to the HCM risk-SCD model. The whole exome sequencing was used for genetic analysis.Results:The LV trabeculation phenotype was recognized in 34.5% HCM patients and was mostly observed at the apex and free wall. Patients with the LV trabeculation phenotype were younger, had a higher prevalence of family history of SCD and more frequent presence of late gadolinium enhancement. Cox proportional hazards regression analysis showed that the LV trabeculation phenotype increased the risk of cardiovascular death (P=0.031), SCD (P=0.008), and all-cause death (P=0.047) in obstructive HCM patients. Furthermore, the LV trabeculation phenotype-combined model improved risk stratification for SCD. The genetic analysis showed that DTNAvariants were more frequently identified in patients with the LV trabeculation phenotype.Conclusions:The LV trabeculation phenotype contributes to risk stratification in obstructive HCM, thus this parameter should be assessed in obstructive HCM patients even if the degree of trabeculation does not fulfil the LVNC criteria. DTNAmutation underlies the cause of this phenotype.

We generalize the ordinary Wess-Zumino model to the bosonic-fermionic noncommutative (BFNC) superspace and study its renormalization. In our previous work that can be regarded as the key foundation of the present paper, we have proved that the BFNC Wess-Zumino model with the real mass and interacting constant is one-loop renormalizable up to the second order of BFNC parameters. Based on the result obtained, in the present paper we modify the one-loop renormalizable BFNC Wess-Zumino model by generalizing the mass and interacting constant to complex numbers, introduce the U(1)R R symmetry and U(1)Φ flavor symmetry in the modified model, analyze possible divergent operators in the effective action of the modified model by using the dimensional analysis method, and further give a new BFNC Wess-Zumino model that is renormalizable at all loops still up to the second order of BFNC parameters by imposing symmetries rather than doing a direct perturbative investigation. This paper uses RTS-24 as the example to analysis the method ,and comparison the results with that of the Monte-Carlo method, to analysis the change of power system after the grid connected of wind turbine.

In this paper, we present schemes on implementing the single-photon-added coherent source in quantum key distributions. We apply this source in either the standard BB84 protocol or the recently proposed measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution, comparing their performance with the cases of using other existing sources, e.g., the weak coherent source or the heralded single-photon source, and giving out corresponding numerical simulations. Our simulation results show that in both protocols the single-photon-added coherent source can greatly exceed all other existing sources. Moreover, even when taking statistical fluctuation into account, a high key generation rate can still be achieved at long distance by applying this source. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Asari Radix et Rhizoma is a herbal medicine for the treatment of common cold, rhinitis, etc. An ultra performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry method has been established for the rapid analysis of 22 components in 27 samples from the raw materials of Asari Radix et Rhizoma and an adulterant. A total of 5 lignans, 5 essential oils, 3 aristolochic acids, 4 alkamides, and 5 flavanoids were identified by co-chromatography of samples extracts and comparison of the retention time, UV spectra, characteristic molecular ions, and fragment ions with those of authentic standards, or tentatively identified by MS/MS determination along with MassFragment software. Moreover, the method was validated for the simultaneous quantification and semi-quantification of 20 components. The samples from Asarum heterotropoides var. mandshuricum differed in the quantity of 2-methoxyl-4,5-methylenedioxypropiophenone and kakuol from those of Asarum sieboldii var. seoulense, and the chemical difference was supported by principal component analysis and orthogonal partial least squared discriminant analysis based on dataset obtained from UHPLC-QTOF/MS. In comparison with the samples from the two medicinal Asarum species mentioned above, those from A. himalaicum differed in the quality and quantity of major compounds and contained higher amounts of aristolochic acid I. 8 injections of carp pituitary extract (CPE, 5 pit. / fish / 10 days) induced ovarian maturation in female eel, gonadosomatic index (GSI) increasing significantly to 43-55 %. 4 injections of CPE (1-2 pit. / fish / 10 days) induced spermatogenesisand spermiation in male eel, GSI increasing to 2.1-2.8 %. After serial injections of CPE, serum gonadotropin (GtH) levels increased significantly, indicating that the exogeneous GtH stimulated gonadal development and maturation in the Japanese eel. 8 implantations of 17 α-methyltestosterone (MT) or androstenedione (ADSD) (50 µg / g body weight / 15 days) stimulated ovarian maturation in female eel, GSI increasing significantly to 38-49 %. 4 implantations of MT or ADSD (50 µg / g body weight / 15 days) induced spermatogenesis and spermiation inthemale eel, GSI increasing to 2.1-3.5 %. MT or ADSD implantations significantly elevated pituitary and serum GtH contents. ADSD or MT implantations resulted in the significant elevation of serum estradiol levels in female eel and serum testosterone levels in male eels. In female eel, ADSD implantations significantly increased mammalean-libe-gonadotropin-releasing hormone (mGnRH) content in brain and pituitary. These results demonstrated that the positive feedback effects of sex steroids on the brain (hypothalamus)-pituitary-gonad axis play an important role on the induction of gonadal development and maturation in the Japanese eel, and the endogeneous GtH isthekey hormone during these physiological processes. In the matured female eel, ovulation and spawning can be induced 18-21 hours following an injection of CPE alone or in combination with [D-Ala6, Pro9-NEt]-luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH-A) and dopamine antagonist domperidone (DOM).

In order to simulate the thermal influence on springback property of O-ring, based on elastic-plastic contact analysis method of finite element analysis (FEA), numerical simulation of compression-springback course of O-ring was carried out by ANSYS software. The results show that it causes a sharp decrease in the peak force applied on O-ring, corresponding to a decline on the contact stress distribution which may influence the seal ability of the O-ring. The simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental results.
