Water storage in buildings is an integral part of water supply, which can be used for firefighting and drinking. It can be divided into three categories: elevated, rooftop, and underground water tanks. This paper presents a novel water storage system consisting of thin-walled corrugated steel sheets, which can be installed in a multi-story building on any floor. Compared with a reinforced concrete tank, the integrated steel water tank can be fabricated and installed much faster and store freshwater more easily. To develop the system, a finite element model is developed, which is validated using the on-site measurements. Next, the model is used to conduct a parametric study to evaluate the effects of boundary conditions, panel depth, sheet thickness, trough-to-crest width ratio, and corrugation angle on the behavior of integrated steel water tanks. The model is further used to evaluate the water tank subjected to lateral diaphragm loads and report the tank stiffness under combined loads. Finally, an implementation guide for the steel tank is presented, showing the supporting system, vacuum and magnetic handling of steel panels, robotic welding techniques, and delivery. It can be concluded that the paneled steel tank can be an efficient solution for water storage inside buildings.

Gastrointestinal (GI) pathologies in children present with overlapping symptoms and signs. Radiological imaging is assuming a more prominent role in the diagnostic pathway. This article is aimed primarily at paediatricians, helping them to understand and thereby better utilise radiological imaging. The strengths and weaknesses of the various imaging modalities are outlined in a concise manner. Illustrative conditions are discussed with an emphasis on key diagnostic features along with several, high quality annotated images. Emerging concepts are introduced throughout the article. These are referenced by the latest research to give the reader an update of current GI imaging in children.

The simulation of the water distribution network (WDN) can be carried out either by demand-driven analysis (DDA) or by pressure driven analysis (PDA). DDA fails to present the real scenario when a pressure deficiency problem happened. On the other hand, in PDA, a relation between the available pressure and the actual demand exists. Many researchers have tried to model PDA using different methodologies by changing the source code of EPANET, adding artificial elements (AE) to the network, or changing demand nodes (DN) to emitters. Recent softwares are available to model the network in normal conditions using DDA; however, solving PDA's automated process is not available in any available software. This paper describes the development of a MATLAB-based program, which simulates the WDN in normal and abnormal situations. The developed program uses different existing PDA methods that add artificial elements to the network, which helps the decision-maker evaluate the network in different failure scenarios.
