This article reports that scientists have developed a long-acting insulin analog using albumin fusion technology. The study was conducted by Alokesh Duttaroy and colleagues at Human Genome Sciences in Rockville, Maryland. Duttaroy and associates published their study in the journal "Diabetes." According to recent research published in the journal, the primary therapeutic goal for the treatment of diabetes is maintenance of along-term, near-normoglycemic condition and prevention of the onset or progression of the complications associated with the disease.
