In the investigation, diazonium derivatives of 2-aminophenol, 2-amino-4-methylphenol, 2-amino-4-chlorophenol, and 2-amino-5-nitrophenol reacted with gallic acid to produce four distinct o,o'-dihydroxyazo compounds. Description of the o,o'-dihydroxyazo compounds that were produced identified the substituent spectrum data using UV–Vis, FT-IR, NMR spectroscopy and MS spectrometry methods. The UV–Vis behaviors of compounds in ethanol and DMSO were noted at various pH values. The antioxidant, antimicrobial, and urease inhibitory activities of the compounds were determined spectrophotometrically and compared to standard compounds. The DPPH˙ scavenging and metal chelating activities of compound 4b were 2.17 ± 0.04 and 11.62 ± 0.64 μg/mL, respectively. Compounds exhibited an effective antibacterial activity against B. cereus. The urease inhibition capacity of compound 4c (IC50: 4.79 ± 0.01 μg/mL) was more effective than thiourea (IC50: 20.04 ± 0.16 μg/mL). Moreover, molecular docking calculations were used to assess the urease inhibition potentials, inhibition kinetics, and interactions of the synthesized compounds with antimicrobial enzymes and urease. The compounds had substantial impacts on density functional theory (DFT), molecular electrostatic potential (MEP), inhibition kinetics, enzyme inhibition, and PASS prediction tests. For this reason, molecular dynamics simulation and MM-PBSA energy calculation were performed to assess the compounds' stability during urease binding.

In the study, 130 honey bee colonies fed with different levels (5, 20, and 100 liters/colony) of various industrial commercial sugars, including High-Fructose Corn 85 (Fructose-85), High-Fructose Corn 55 (Fructose-55), Glucose Monohydrate (Glucose), Bee feed, and Sucrose syrups, for 2 mo were compared with colonies fed with no sugar (control) in terms of their colony development of worker bee population, hive weight, wax production, wintering ability, foraging behavior, and lifespan of worker bee. Utilization of industrial sugars by honey bee colonies showed differences in terms of colony performance and behavior parameters. Honey bees did not use Glucose heavily, resulting in 4% increase in worker bee loss in winter and 46% decrease in marked worker bee numbers over time when compared to the control. Sucrose syrup had a positive effect on wintering ability, wax production, and hive weight. While Sucrose had a positive effect (3–4%) on wintering ability, the 100 liters/colony sugar syrups of all other sugars had negative effects (6–15%). Sugars containing high levels of monosaccharide were not used effectively by honey bee colonies, whereas the sugars containing fructose and glucose at rates of 40 and 30% (Bee feed and Fructose-55), were utilized effectively. The lifespan of worker bees decreased over time in the 100 liters/colony of all sugars syrup. In conclusion, except Glucose, other industrial sugars can be used for promoting colonies at the beginning of the season (in spring). Industrial sugars except sucrose should not be used in order to meet carbohydrate needs of the colonies in winter.

AbstractSome new substituted cyclotriphosphazenes were prepared by the reaction of hexachlorocy-clotriphosphazene and 4-hydroxyazo compounds such as 4-hydroxyazobenzene, 4′-ethyl-4-hydroxyazobenzene, 4′-ethyl-4-hydroxyazobenzene, 4′-tertbutyl-4-hydroxyazobenzene, 4′-methoxy-4-hydroxyazobenzene, 3′,4′-dichloro-4-hydroxyazobenzene, 2′-chloro-4-hydroxyazobezene and 2′-methoxy-5′-chloro-4-hydroxyazobenzene. The structure of the compounds with the general formula [NP(OC6H4N=N-Ar)2]3. was determined by UV-VIS, IR, 1H-NMR and elemental analysis.

The 13C-NMR spectra of the azo dyes which were synthesized by reacting substituted benzenediazonium chloride with derivatives of some phenol have been measured. The spectral data of these compounds were described considering intramolecular hydrogen bond and not. The chemical shift assignments were made regarding substituent effects.

The polarographic and voltammetric behaviour of 2-hydroxy-3-tert-butyl-5-methylazobenzene has been studied in aqueous-ethanol mixtures of different pH using DCP and DPP polarographic and CV and SWV voltammetric methods. The reduction of the azo linkage takes place via two electrons at pH > 7, but four electrons at pH < 7 in aqueous-ethanol mixtures. It has been determined that there is a linear relationship between the current and concentration and the lowest detection limit has been found as 1 × 10-7 M (for SWV).
